I recently got a 2018 Renegade Limited 1.3 turbo 2wd, after drivetesting many other options in the price range. The facelifted Renegade surpassed my expectations: it is very refined, comfortable at higway speed ( I can for sure say it is more quiet at 130km/h than my Infinity Fx30), it has very good visibility, the ride is very good and surefooted and the brakes blew me away- almost on par with my Brembo equiped Alfa Gta. The new 1.3 turbo is a gem: there is literally no vibration, it is veery quiet, it has 270Nm at 1800rpm to pull 1320kg and is economical ( I average 8l/100km, 80% town driving, outside town 6l/km). And there is a sense of robustness given by the extremelly stiff structure of the chassis, I didn t experience the smallest creak or rattle. At 25k euros I paid for this car in my country, what more could I want. It is a very smart and practical car, very comfortable and frugal for the money. We love itm

I've had a '16, 1.6 diesel Longitude for the past 3 years. I have loved every minute of driving it and I can't wait for the refresh. I currently get around 55 MPG on the motorway and 43-ish MPG driving around London. My current average is 49.6 over 20,000 miles! I consider this very good. Yes it could do with a bigger boot (see Compass) but I prefer to have a car that is easy to park and very good economy! I will probably go for the same 1.6 diesel again when I can renew, as it is very efficient. I might consider going for the Trailhawk but I have only really needed it for driving around the Swiss mountains and Italian Alps where the 2WD was barely getting me up the steep hills. But it did get me there!
We have a 15 plate Renegade Limited special edition with the 1.4 turbo engine. It's been so good and only needed a set of front brake discs apart from yearly servicing. Not bad for 8 years old. We live in the remote Scottish Highlands so need ground clearance and ability to cope with lots of deep snow and road salt. It sailed through the last MOT and there is virtually no rust at all. So it is a brilliant car and we love it ! For a relatively small car , it's roomy inside and very capable. Not sure how it could be compared to a Nissan Joke ( oops sorry Juke ) totally different vehicles. !
The 2015 model was very capable, and still is, mine runs smoothly, no body or engine modifications, oil changes, transmission fluid changes, and tires are the main things I've needed, and that's normal. I can only imagine how the 2019's run in person.
That’s what I say to everyone who doesn’t own one. It’s the most reliable car I’ve own for a long time (so much that I bought a 500x for my wife). I sold my 216d (which was a “lemon” regarding problems...) and bought a Renegade. It’s amazing. Ps: I’ve own many cars over the more then 30 years of driving experience...
I can't imagine a more detailed review. How did you get the time off from bomber command? Keep up the good and detailed reports based on facts and knowledge!
Couple of corrections 1. The "4wd lock" only keeps it in 4wd mode. There are no locking differentials. It's all brake based traction control. The only CUV based Jeep with a locker is the Cherokee trailhawk. 2. There is no low range gear box in the trailhawk or any other trim. The lower crawl ratio comes from a lower diff gear (4.33:1 vs 3.55:1 in the other trims) and the 9spd auto. Put it in "low" and it keeps the transmission in 1st gear.
Miller - the Renegade has electronic traction control to distribute the torque in All wheel drive mode but also had locking differential giving instant torque to all four wheels. in lock mode. And they warn not to drive at high speed on dry tarmac because all the wheel go the same distance as the differentials are locked and cause not only the handling but also wear and tear on the gearbox. Locking isn the first gear is also a type of low range gearing. Check the trail hawk . It can go anywhere a Land cruiser can go.
@@lakshmandalpadado9066 the only jeep model on that architecture that offers any real locking diff is the Cherokee trailhawk. The diff on the renegade is not strong enough for that use. I've been round and round with Mopar since 2018 arguing about this.
@@lakshmandalpadado9066 not true...just look a some test with software, in many cases torque to the rear is 0% even with Lock. It only means "4WD is engaged", not a real lock. As for the "low" command, it only enables 1st gear, no low range at all. Cherokee Trailhawk has real low range and real rear differential lock, not the Renegade.
Funny that you pointed out the Juke. I test drove a Juke in 2010 and wanted one for 10 years, then the Renegade won me over before I could make the purchase. I love the Renegade.
Thanks for the detailed review. I'm really keen to get one soon. One correction. The My Sky roof does not consist of glass panels but solid black panels. The front acts as a normal sunroof and the rear lifts slightly. Or, as you said, you can remove both the front and rear panels for an open roof. Panels store in a bag in the boot.

I love the Jeep brand. I have a 2018 Renegade. Sadly it’s had a few ‘issues’. Which is frustrating. I love the car so much, but my 2008 C class has been far more reliable
@@alkhalilmohammed5578 I have the multiair. The engine has always been reliable. It’s other parts; •the battery is a weak point. • the paint can become contaminated very quickly (bird lime after 2hrs left hideous stains) • the speakers blow from water ingress However. Since these issues have been rectified. I’m back to loving the Jeep!
nice car,but would not trade in my tour de france 4x4 yeti for it :) imo the yeti was and is the best suv on the road ,but do like the looks of the Jeep
I completely agree. I own a Yeti these last 7 years. It is a truly capable and practical vehicle. I ve driven a renegade for about 7-8 days recently in the South of France. It is a good vehicle. Yes. But my yeti is simply clever and simply better. It’s just that the Renegade overall feels a bit more rugged and like something that one can beat much harder without feeling guilty. However, the true apples to apples comparison between these two cars needs to be made only by someone operating each of these in the same identical conditions, not like me, who operates the Yeti day to day in harsh daily conditions in India and has only driven the Renegade when on holiday in Europe.
Had a 17 plate yeti which was an absolute lemon in terms of problems, constantly going back to the garage. The worst was the clutch and biting point, nearly always cut out in 2nd gear and the garage claimed it was a characteristic of the car. Absolute bulljive. Got rid of it a few months ago.
It's not supposed to be aerodynamic. My wife's Renegade has the high clearance bumper with heavy duty tow hooks in it. That's what they should all have.
I should be laughing at the fact that this thing carries the Jeep-badge. I should be running for the hills thinking about Fiat's current problems with reliability (just looked up some statistics and it ain't pretty for them). But for some reason, I really like the Renegade.... just as I liked the equally horribly named "Patriot" of the late 2000s.
I thought my 2007 Jeep cherokee 2.8 crd looks bad but at least it has proper 4 wheel drive with low gearing as well but this thing from Jeep is just horrible compered to the Fiat version that I quite like the look of I think if you are buying a Jeep new there are only two worth bothering with the Grand Cherokee or the Wrangler a proper four wheel drive not even Land Rover make one now.
no, it isn't the most capable "SUV" .. - the most capable afordable 4x4 is Jimny.....and in the crossover-S.U.V("SUV") class is the Dacia Duster...very capable in soft offroad and very affordable(aprx. 20000 Euro full option 4x4 1,5 dci) - anyway Renegade it's a nice "jeep" but it's made by Fiat..it's not a pure jeep
Jeep is supposed to be an American car brand so why the hell is Europe getting the 2019 renegade first? It should just be called a fiat if they're going to do this.
Fiat & Chrysler merged; that's why the merged company is called Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. That merger made sense- Fiat bringing it's small vehicle architecture/fuel efficient engines & expertise to the company; while Chrysler brings it's large vehicle architectures, and powerful V6/V8 engines & technology to the company. This merger truly is the "Merger of Equals" that DaimlerChrysler was SUPPOSED to be. Sharing across the entire company of designs & tech, not to mention Fiat & Chrysler designing new products/technology together. Sergio made no bones about the US side of the company (Chrysler) carrying the whole of FCA through the drawn out European recession. I look at it like this: without Fiat, Chrysler would have been no more. Yes, both Fiat & Chrysler pre-merger had much room for improvement in the overall quality department. FCA is making a serious effort to shed that image, and improve it's vehicles quality across the board. It all doesn't happen overnight- BUT the company is moving in the right direction. All new products have been significant improvements over previous models. FCA 's US market shares are continuing their climb upwards. If products like the new 2019 Ram 1500 are any indication of future FCA products & design- big things are in store for this company.

Which is why I ended my post with "This is the best car in the world. I had it for two months as a borrower, and now years later I'm still longing for it back." In the mean time, I've started driving one again, and it doesn't disappoint. It's absolutely great, *especially* in terms of comfort.
Jeep reliability mixed with Fiat reliability. What could go wrong?
EVERY DAMN THING LOL!
Everything is going wrong in my renegade
At least they have a very good 5 year warranty
Ahahahah
Have you owned one?
Wouldn't mind if it was: 3 door / convertible / off-road
What an absurdly comprehensive review.

everytime i saw the Joke...ääh Juke i puked :D !
Renegade&500x are the best looking small SUV! Love them..
and You forgot to say what engine is in this car being tested
Isn't this the model that does a rear wheelie when you brake hard?
What a great review as usual your the very best at what you do…your thorough informative and honest as I believe this is going* to be my next vehicle…I’m impressed with it it’s well appointed….I’ve taken interest in the top model the fit and finish is excellent…it’s roomy enough but I think I’m going to want the full length panoramic roof I think it will add a certain ambience to what is already a well lit cabin…I’d like the 2.0 Diesel engine with great automatic gearbox wether or not that will still be available here when I’m ready to change I don’t know..we have a crazy government that seem to think electric vehicles is the way to go…I hope eventually that someone will wake up and realise they are not so green…so all I can say is well done Fiat…

Love it. Mine was specced by Batman.
can you do a review on the trailhawk version pls?
The most capable small SUV? No, that’s the new Suzuki Jimny!
You are right 👍 we love the new Jimny!
Badly Canada and USA have only the fiat renegade....
Doesn't do us any good in the US. I would have definitely gone with the Jimny
It's better than the Jimny.
So comprehensive.
Many thanks for watching 👍 If you enjoyed the video, make sure to subscribe: bit.ly/319ZKoT
The angle makes it look big. Inside the thing is tiny and the front seats don't feel normal.
is it the most capable FIAT 500?
I love the Jeep brand. I have a 2018 Renegade. Sadly it’s had a few ‘issues’. Which is frustrating. I love the car so much, but my 2008 C class has been far more reliable
Which engine you have and what issues you had ?
@@alkhalilmohammed5578 I have the multiair. The engine has always been reliable. It’s other parts;
•the battery is a weak point.
• the paint can become contaminated very quickly (bird lime after 2hrs left hideous stains)
• the speakers blow from water ingress
However. Since these issues have been rectified. I’m back to loving the Jeep!
@@angrymuffinsb 2.4 petrol?
@@alkhalilmohammed5578 1.4 4WD. The 2.4 is the tigershark. Here in the UK we don’t have that option
nice car,but would not trade in my tour de france 4x4 yeti for it :) imo the yeti was and is the best suv on the road
,but do like the looks of the Jeep
Problem with the yeti is it looks properly hideous. May as well just throw in the towel and pick up the pipe and slippers if you buy a yeti.
Jeep is popular in Japan.
looks like soul
Are you blind?
Not really, but oke
Has it ever seen a wind tunnel with that front. 🍃💨😁😭
It's not supposed to be aerodynamic. My wife's Renegade has the high clearance bumper with heavy duty tow hooks in it. That's what they should all have.
Duster or Jimny
We love the new Jimny 👍
Renegade or 500x
sir some more info over steering adjustment
A crash test on this 2019 vehicle is lost...and very necesary !
Love the comments! "Buy a jimny" oh wait you can't get them anymore and the ones you
Can get are 27k!!
Suzuki Jimny all-day. All the way.
Jimny is ok if you do off roading ,but as a road car,its very poor under powered
too small
Lol, it's like comparing oranges with cucumbers.
Why in the world would you compare a Jimny to this? Oh I get it. You’re the guy that thinks his priorities are what everyone prioritizes also.
Walter White yeah we know, you’ve commented it a thousand times
Lol, “the large 2.0 diesel.” My co worker was telling me that the 7.3 diesel they have is so much better than the new 6.0 diesel. Murica!
Autosalón renegade
I prefer the Juke.
Weird way to spell "Joke".
For this guy should have a Trabant, not a Jeep
I like the interior but the FWD version is a literal deathtrap, it really amazes me how Fiat-Crysler overlooked something like that.
Yeah only scored 5 stars on NCAP tests. 🤔🤔
@@yanni2737 the FWD version literally lifts it's tail when you slam the brakes at 100kph.
NCPA tests all aspects of safery before it awards its stars. If there was an issue it would have been taken into consideration.

Piece of junk. I bought a brand new 2017 and by 2020 the transmission went just in time for the warranty to be up.
Hi there, we're sorry to hear that. If you're looking for a new vehicle we're more than happy to help 👍
Soon new cars will have bath and shower inside 😅...or what else...why need to make so complicated?
They are getting very advanced! What would be your top 5 must haves in a car?
Subaru xv
Such a comedy shape which is a great shame as it is a very capable car with bullet proof 5 year warranty.
no, it isn't the most capable "SUV" ..
Quando finirà questa idiozia della misurazione della CO2 ?
Se amate l'ambiente mangiate sano.
Jeep is supposed to be an American car brand so why the hell is Europe getting the 2019 renegade first? It should just be called a fiat if they're going to do this.
We already have it in the US
@@richardmiller1256 I haven't seen any at my local dealerships and I don't see any American TH-camrs doing a review on the 2019.
This Reviewer talks to much
Get to the point about the car review inside then drive
Beutiful in the front very ugly in the back...
I used to remember I was wow when it was first revealed years ago. Now it’s just a chic car that is as bad as The soul.
How so?
Pity it’s ugly
Jesus it's one ugly car. Glad i watched this I'll pass.
That's what were here for 👍
Looks a bit hairdressery
Jeeps are shitboxes
Wrong, is an ugly car to low for 4wd driving. The new Jimny is the one for a nice price.
oh Please, it's a crappy Fiat. And no, Real Jeeps are popular in Japan but this Fiat is not!
Yeah and Lamborghini and Porche are owned by crappy VW so you probably won’t want one of them either
Harry what would you recommend?
@Cam oh my my. A Chevy. Nah don't think so somehow. Junk.
A Fiat with a jeep badge on it. The only thing "Jeep" about a Jeep is the plastic name plate....and still a fiat Chrysler vehicle....junk.
