It's got some complexity to it and a lot of grind (like quite a lot) but the community is very friendly/helpful to new players alongside the game staff and if you're looking to burn time, this is one you definitely can't go wrong in. you didnt cober boats.... did they ever add a body finder? old school if you died in the woods you might not know exactly where it was. so keep a chest with some spair tools and weapons. teraforming is best thought of as a sheet over four corner columns so you dig dirt off or sdd to these colmn points wagons or carts are the best way
I played about 10 - 15 minutes of this game after i did the tutorial, i liked it then i went into a PVE server but everywhere i walked around there was bases and i couldnt cut trees down :(

I have constructed world changing canals. built sailable ships. but the bad thing was the small population and no npcs so you can only grow so much before its pointless. and the wildlife and death were beyond stupid you come back to your charactor at your house and your dead and cripplingly dead. and combat wasnt fit for an 8 bit game. they were too bust building barels and trees,, though they did have multi level houses which seemed against physics.
Someone please tell me there’s a Westeros server and if not, can we please start working on one ASAP! I want to be a Crow and work the wall with Jon Snow.
there are many things I like about wurm online ships, and mine and canal and earthworks are epic! gardening evolution is wonderful, you actually get to build and sail ships using the wind. but also the game has red flag deal breakers the graphics are crude at best, same got combat, there are NO NPCs in a bairly populated world,, death is epicly painful you can end up naked half way across the world. at some point you will have massive amounts of stuff but no one or no where to sell to. the developers are on a geologic schedule it may be months or years before things are modified or addressed and that might be a new bucket design or tree not critical fixes. they need a full blown stand alone economy not just player driven when theres only 12 people in the world. it has ideas id like to see in other bigger games but the rest of it is not worth playing till they address the real issues of playability.
Wurm Unlimited has been available at Steam for a long time, but is no longer supported and will not be developed any further. WU made you able to create and administer your own Wurm server physically located at your own computer or server. Wurm Online has inbuilt servers provided by the game itself.
Before i started game realy i was killed by hellhound, then i quited it took 2 weeks to try again then i was killed by bear and i was so pissed off i didnt try agin like month 3 time i tryd to swim over water and drown. That mean i quited for more than year. And before started agin i watched 30 hours videos and tutorials. Then well i was sucked in i playd 3 months staith 14-16 hours in day until server owner closed server. And then i decided to play my own server it way safer. This is kind of game what you need to learn patiently, can go in game and just think you own the world.

Wurm unlimited is designed to be singleplayer CO-OP games where server owners decide what game will be they are free to speed up game progress or slow down and mods and new features if they wish. Devs made ready a skeleton and its free to community to improve it. Couse game is sold once. Wurm online in other wise is constantly developing game and its servers need hosting and expanding as game data enlarges so they need money to keep it working. Wurm is not a scam game. And whole point of wurm is like 2nd life, you focus on something to archive something nothing comes easy but all is worth and it keeps griefers away. two most important parts of wurm is terraforming and player driven economy. Even popular games like ARK survival or other kind of games dont have it. All items in game are made from players, Makeing high tier items need alot of time and work. And it dosent matter how rich you are in realife, you cant buy things that are not avaible.

Just found out about this yesterday, very intrigued so far and it costs nothing so I'll be checking it out.
worth noting at 10:40 in the video it's talking about the WL and BL altars, but those won't be a thing on the new servers.
I believe they won’t be there on the PvE server but will be present on the PvP one.
yeah they said on the PVE server they wont be but on PVP we still have to go to altars

you can farm and fish but also people can come to your land and pvp you. you can get guards to defend your home

I launched the game, you got loot on the ground that can't be picked up, controls are not intuitive, tutorial is extremely bad.
