Bruh, you’re the only RC youtuber I’m always stalking for new vids. Soon as you drop one, I’m all over it. Your content’s mad fire… got me straight addicted, fr!
Speaking of new vids!!! I have a review request. Something I think you're going to like if you get your hands on it. Auoshi 1/12 scale truck from WalMart. Yes... I said Walmart 😂😂😂😂 Anyways, it's brushless, 1/12 scale, has an independent esc, receiver, three-wire servo, and apparently gyro with a dumbo RC transmitter. Comes with a 3s battery... But what I find really interesting is that it has two battery trays in the chassis. The ESC that's mounted on it, has an xt60 plug. You should look it up. After I received this one and unboxed it, I was so surprised that I went back and ordered two more because this looks like it is crazy well-built. It's a UDIRC car. Also comes with two bodies and two wings, and the pins are tethered to the bodies.
Wow, that drivetrain held up great! Awesome build and congrats on the 60 mph. I was dying with the battery setup when I first saw it 😂 but it worked great and gave you plenty of weight to keep the front end down. I would love to see it run on a better road under better conditions for my own curiosity but I doubt you are nearly as curious as I am.🤣 I don't see anybody testing that harder than you did! That HW150A ESC didn't seem to miss a beat. Heck, it may well do okay even in warmer weather. I have no doubt we will see that ESC appear in future builds! Thanks so much for the shout out. Awesome video as always!
I know! I’m so surprised with that drivetrain! lol I was cracking up with the Battery setup too but like you said, it worked in more than one way! Front end stayed down very well! 😂😂. You’re welcome and thanks!!
Lol that was a fun one! It lasted a whole lot longer than I thought it would with that esc. Congrats on a new pb and also Congrats on you adaptors adaptors adaptors holding up!
Dope low pressure tire shot bro. This video was super funny. Loved it! Anytime you go full mad scientist the end result is an epic video. Nice zip tie droops by the way👍✌🏼
Haha! This tire went from going flat over like 3 months to doing it throughout the day real fast. I fill it every day. There’s no puncture so it’s gotta be the tire bead somewhere. Stopped at a tire shop on Friday and they needed 3 hours! I don’t have that time! I had a Redcat Valkyrie to run! Just gonna remove the tire and drop it off! One of these days 😂. There’s my story! Thanks!! 😃
I was waiting for the bit where you bang your front mounted lipo into a large obstacle for some reason 😂… great vid as always buddy . My X25 came with crazy speed in reverse and absolutely slow speed going forwards 😂 Thanks for the fun !
@ yeah we swapped motor leads . But shouldn’t have come like that from factory in first place . Man your garden is the size of a soccer pitch (football as we call it ) I envy your space ! We have teabag sized gardens in Hong Kong only … if that ! 🥹
@RC-Expats-HK oh i definitely agree! Glad that was the only issue though. Ya here you can go from huge yards to small yards on the same street lol. When we were looking for a new house, I specifically wanted a big yard, even though we had to sacrifice on house size, which you can never have enough space with 4 kids 😂
@ sacrifice on house size 😂 average house size here is 300-400 square feet! Yours looks like the White House in a different color! Your kids are an integral part of your channel too. Aim for at least 2 more… you have that old bearded lady to help you look after them 😅
@RC-Expats-HK haha! 🤣 I’ll shut up.🤐 😂. We are definitely done with the kiddos lol! Every day is already a mind explosion 🤯!! The bearded lady helps with that too lol
Far canal! I got absolutely no chance of blowing up that drive train running stock. That's impressive! I'm beginning to see why you really like this platform. 👍
@DerbyCityRC I'm absolutely nowhere near as harsh on my truck's as you are. I was concerned about putting some mjx 10208 wheels on it, and having diff dramas. I already ordered them and have cut the body out to suit. Tried the ones off the 10208 that I already have. got them to balloon as much as I could on 4S and there's no body rub. Judging by the weight you put in that truck of urs, it will absolutely handle them no drama 🤣
Plus at $200 shipped when my x17 broke it was cheaper to buy another car, x25/x27........use one for spare parts or fix it whenever. Plus parts I did order from them came crazy fast. If they do a version 4 on that platform, I hope it's 4s and $350 or less.
Quit flabberjacking ! Damn ! J/K brotha. Flabberjacking is okeydokey. Nice to see the Hoons on that thing. The Hoons are expensive but they sure don't balloon under 70 mph. Brian (of Brian's RC stuff) sure does know how to pull some good speeds outta those small scale RCs PS: i entered your raffle for the first time. Don't get me wrong, a guy's gotta make a living, but you coulda jacked (flabberjacked, even) the price up to $2 a ticket and nobody would bat an eye.
Love the videos I bought one because of this specific video I'm running a 3660 3500kv motor hobbywing 10bl120g2 esc on 4s easy 58mph+ tires holding not gonna happen unless you plug those diffs. Hopefully these new tires hold up.
Good video man. I enjoy your vids, high energy and fun. Upbeat. Happy Holidays. I know you pointed now but at one point I thought you gave my little pony the bird . lol You are the RC whisperer.
Great Diff test Evan, those silicone earplugs definitely do the trick. Would be nice though if this center diff came with a bit slightly tighter clearances and weren’t so loose out of the box. Spiral cut gearing was a great choice for Hosim or any maker I think. Love that Redcat Vigilante. For the money it’s pretty hard to beat out of the box. Hope you have a fantastic Holiday 🙏🧑🎄🎄🎁🎉Season bro!
That's just superstition. Gasoline isn't flammable, it's just that babies don't want us to have fun, so they spread false rumors about "explosions" and "serious risk to life" That's hooey.
I don’t think I have a video that’s too elaborate on this. I think I explained it a little bit more in the x27 video but basically the easier the center diff gears can spin, the quicker it will just transfer the power from the rear axle to the front axle. Being how overpowered this was (and for how loose these diffs are stock, even with the stock power), it practically makes it a front wheel drive car. Usually you would put some thick oil (differential oil/fluid) to make it harder for the gears to spin and also adding lubrication. You can choose different thicknesses to “tune” it to your liking. But these diffs are not sealed. They don’t have a gasket or o-rings to keep that fluid from leaking out. So the only option is to go extra thick (so it won’t leak out). Those earplugs are a good solution. Still allows the gears inside to spin which increases durability and still gives you the better handling a center diff offers, but it doesn’t just instantly bleed all the power to the unloaded axle. I hope that made sense 😆
I see your new gears, and I'll raise you to 6S power and a bunch of additional weight. Call! Hosim won that hand! That was a great video! Now if they could just ditch the Phillips head screws…
Man if they seal the diffs and ditch those screws, they’ve got a super contender here if they keep it at the same price. Oh and maybe give it an adjustable motor mount. All should be pretty minor tweaks to make that happen.
The Phillips hardware I can accept 7/10 the red locktite though is RIDICULOUS a mini torch is your best friend or a soldering iron for the heat to melt it.
@DerbyCityRC Ive been flying fpv drones and camera drones for a living the past 3 years, but not long ago got my first 10 scale rc truck, and now i have afeq of the cheaper trucks but still brushless and hobby grade parts. I am in love with the trucks now haha... just wish icould afford to step up to a better and bigger truck! Ive learned a ton from you man, keep it going brother!
@DerbyCityRC what id really love to do, is to start reviewing new trucks on the market on my YT channel... probably couldn't yet cause I'm a small channel... but im knowledgeable enough to know how to build and repair!
It’s looks like a vehicle from Mad Max. Spiral cut gears are number 1 in my opinion. It’s crazy that they held up. I would definitely replace the Phillips screws with hex screws.
Great Video! I tried to open the Diff screws and wore 3 of them. Which screwdriver exactly did you use? PH1? Could i get them out easier when i heat it somehow (soldering iron ie.)?
Yes a #1 Phillips. Heat may help if there is loctite. This car didn’t have as much luckily, but it may definitely help. Had to drill one out I think on a previous model. Definitely the worst part about this car
This was extra fun to watch ! Nice work Evan impressed with the beating that took and your video skills are top notch buddy thanks a bunch! Great entertainment 😄
I'm absolutely amazed at the drive change didn't blow out so what keeps happening with mine on 4s is that the I guess it's an idler gear keeps jumping inside the differential box so I don't know if that's because I'm not getting the differential box tightened back down enough I think that's part of the problem must be because yours is handling 6s just fine so we'll see when that new gearbox comes in but I'm only going with a better 3S or a 4S ESC and I guess I won't do anything different with the motor does it seems like you're is handling it just fine so we'll see
It possibly is that you didn’t screw the top of the box down all the way. I remember when I took it apart on the X27, it was a pretty tight fit. Had to tap it down in place. Probably was the same on this one. Ya might as well keep the motor, atleast for now. Even just a higher amp ESC with 3s will likely get you more power. But yes you will need a new receiver and a new transmitter like I did. I recommend this one: amzn.to/3ZgLvve There’s also a version with a gyro which may help with high speed stability.
@@DerbyCityRC thank you I appreciate that I figured that's what I needed to do I figure it's a good place to start building my own car or at least somewhat just to get a little practice and learn a little bit about it I've already got a red cat machete 6S and a notorious V6 6S supposed to be here today so this would be something fun to make as a little project
I almost got your best speed with the mini maxx lol I got 56 on 3s I could up the pinion a little but its a handful as it is lol great video I enjoy watching your stuff
I have the Deerc 9206e. Its not brushless but wanting to get one and new esc along with a few other better parts. Are you gonna get be getting one to review yet? Even though the new model is the, Deerc 200e i think? Anyways what be best upgrades to get?
Another great video, my friend !! You are the mad scientist of RC ! Lol lol On a stock RC, how much bigger can you go on tire size without having to change the gearing ??
Thanks!!! It depends on the model. Specifically the electronics and how stout the drive train is. Some cars can handle quite a bit bigger tires pretty well and others might explode pretty quickly lol
Nice always enjoy your videos. I'm new to the hobby and I am curious what is the purpose of using an ear plug in the differentual ( sorry about my spelling) . Doesn't the ear plug rip into peices ?
Thanks! The earplug is silicone. Just a really thick glob of goo basically. Not the foam type. It adds resistance to keep the gears from spinning too easily. Gives better balance between front and rear axles.
I put a 4S battery in this and it just made it do weird things. It's too much for the gears inside to handle inside the gearbox and honestly I think it did weird things to the ESC too. But I do still have a chassis a front and a rear differential The center differential box is only $20 so I ordered a new one of those but I want to put a new motor a new ESC my question is because I'm still a major newbie is what do I do about a receiver do I have to buy a receiver combo like receiver and controller or can I just buy a receiver and bind the new controller to the new receiver? So this video is going to help me a lot thank you I mean really thank you I have been wondering what I wanted to do with this leftover body and still got good shocks everything else works great on it so this is going to be perfect thank you
Also for the record I sent an extremely long extremely detailed email to their customer service and talked with them back and forth quite a bit about the quality of the build itself how tight the screws are how impossible they are to get out. How the differentials are basically empty of oil and how there's barely any grease on the axles I'm sorry the pinion gears and the ring gears the spur gears in the differentials and I'm not saying they've had a chance to make a difference but I'm hoping that they took that into consideration because I know I'm not the only one who made those complaints
The smaller diffs also help get it to higher speeds just like having a smaller spur gear. If they hold up like it seems they will, the smaller gears are ok I guess, but bearings and things may still wear out sooner.
Man I’m so happy I found them. Took about 10 minutes to find the extension nut/bolt. Probably 5-6 minutes looking for the hex until I found it still on the pavement lol
@DerbyCityRC but you know you're the man and I made an idiot mistake I posted it on the wrong video this video came up immediately after your 12s video and I didn't realize I posted to the wrong one
Hey man, this comment doesnt pertain to this video but I've tried commenting on previous videos. I have a HolyTon 9205e, I've been following your upgrade series from a couple years back for that platform. I bought a spektrum brushless motor and the 22t gear with the 0.6 adapter that tou recommended. However when i install the motor, the gears are super close to each other and they bind. Is there anyway to fix this? Do you recommend a smaller spur gear?
Hey! That’s interesting. Is the spektrum still a 36 size can? I can’t remember for sure, but can that motor mount turn and be mounted 180°? Some of the cars do that for different sized teeth pinion gears but I don’t think this one did. If not, then a smaller tooth pinion should work. Maybe they’ve changed some things since I had mine lol
@@DerbyCityRC the motor mount can turn and be mounted different but it still has to sit in the chassis up and down in the grooves. When I try turning it to mount it with the offset holes, neither of the holes line up with the motor.
@@DerbyCityRC I tried commenting the link to the motor/ESC combo I bought, but TH-cam won't post it. It's the Spektrum 85A 3300kv or 3600kv motor and smart esc from Amazon. It's like $104
@hornungman99 gotcha.weird. So yes depending by on how tight it is, I’d go down a tooth or two. Might be able to find a set with several different gears that will fit with different teeth counts
@@DerbyCityRC For sure. Even the silvers wear pretty quickly. I have to rotate the silvers on my Senton every few packs. But it's my "drift car", so... :)
Weeeeeeeell. Not on a car like this usually. Pushes down on the rear but helps make the front lift up at high speeds in cars like this that aren’t really made for high speeds
I always remove the rear wing on my RC trucks anytime I am getting up close to 60 mph for the reasons Evan said. Even on a 2WD car/truck you don't really need a rear wing to reach high speeds (100+ mph) and if you needed a little extra downforce it would be less than most stock rear spoilers offer. With 4WD, a rear wing is just going to cause issues and slow the truck down. When you start going well over 100 mph, you may want some vertical fins on the back to help with the stability. 👍
YAAAAY.!!! You did it.!! 👍 👍 👍 You know I was only joking when I said "6S it".!? I guess I'd better be more careful with my jokes in the future.!.. Or more creative.! 😉 😉
@@RC-Closer1313 here’s to hoping! You’re not the only one who has said that. Makes no sense when you watch every single video. Let me know if that works!
Thanks!! I have a recent video showing my favorite RC cars under $250. A lot of them are closer to $100 but pretty much any of those would be great depending on what you want to do with it. (Jumps, drifting, etc.)
Whaaaaaat?? Here’s what I responded: Thanks!!! It depends on the model. Specifically the electronics and how stout the drive train is. Some cars can handle quite a bit bigger tires pretty well and others might explode pretty quickly lol

On a stock RC, how much bigger can you go on tire size without having to change the gearing ??
@@DerbyCityRC Thanks. just learned something new
@LuisTirado-y3m you’re welcome!!
So this video is going to help me a lot thank you I mean really thank you I have been wondering what I wanted to do with this leftover body and still got good shocks everything else works great on it so this is going to be perfect thank you
Glad this was helpful! Yes their parts are
Priced pretty well from what I’ve seen.
6s the Omni Terminator next! I've seen one other guy did it.
Or maybe something crazy like 4s the good ol hbx 16th.
Hah! That would be insane. We shall see what happens 😂
Holy 6s screamer Batman!! Those diffs can’t last much longer… no way!?!
Dude!! Haha I know right!!??
"That sound is from the body rub." Sir, which body is it rubbing on? I hope you get paid for the development of the front-spare-lexan-body-air-dam! 😂
It rubs the lotion on its skin??
😂 I’m gonna send an invoice don’t worry 😂
Another great vid!
Thanks!!
Howd you find all the hub pieces. How long did it take??
Man I’m so happy I found them. Took about 10 minutes to find the extension nut/bolt. Probably 5-6 minutes looking for the hex until I found it still on the pavement lol
That was awesome thanks
Thanks and you’re welcome!!
awsome vid
i hope you going to get the vorteks 223s and put it trough 6s
Thanks! I have one of the 223s cars coming up!
@DerbyCityRC lovely
60 is hauling butt… and them diffs made it…wow!
Man I know! Couldn’t believe it!!!
Man, you must have some eagle eyes, or something. I wouldn't have even tried to find those parts LOL.
Although, I did find an arrma wheel nut, a couple times, but only because they're red.
Haha! Trust me I was close to giving up. It was crazy cold and it took probably 10 minutes to find. The hex was still on the pavement luckily!
Ya the red Arrma nuts are awesome! I’ve lost a few of those too lol
Super content do but I don't think that was the brushless the AMX 12 u compared to I think that was the 14th scale u had
Thanks! Dude you’re right Lol. For some reason I thought all those older buggy models were the same.
@DerbyCityRC but you know you're the man and I made an idiot mistake I posted it on the wrong video this video came up immediately after your 12s video and I didn't realize I posted to the wrong one
Haha! It happens and I was able to pick up what was going on 😂 Hopefully you enjoyed this Hosim vid too! 😂
Really tight fit
Might be able to find a set with several different gears that will fit with different teeth counts
i like the gold label hoons better for traction.
Ya I should have gone that route. They wear out quicker so I was trying to get the best of both worlds 😂
@@DerbyCityRC For sure. Even the silvers wear pretty quickly. I have to rotate the silvers on my Senton every few packs. But it's my "drift car", so... :)
@myrcobsession nice!!
That was crazy good.
Thanks!! 😃
Dude u need the wing/rear spoiler back on for those speeds
Good info!!
Hey! I know your birthday is some time around here, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
You got it right on the money! Thanks man! 🙏
Hey what hoons are those? I need some of those!
These dudes: amzn.to/4gnlZLT
👍
They are the 17mm hex ones - they are a bit over 100 mm in diameter.
YAAAAY.!!! You did it.!! 👍 👍 👍
You know I was only joking when I said "6S it".!?
I guess I'd better be more careful with my jokes in the future.!.. Or more creative.! 😉 😉
Woohoo!!! More creative suggestions!! 😂
I’m so sick of NOT getting notifications for your vidz!!
Dude for real. What is with that??
You have the bell ticked for me and everything?
@@DerbyCityRC yes.
@@DerbyCityRC I shut it off and went into and out of your channel a few times and turned it back on… we’ll see
@@RC-Closer1313 here’s to hoping! You’re not the only one who has said that. Makes no sense when you watch every single video. Let me know if that works!
I knew it was going to be something sinister 😮
Well of course!! 😆
How many cars do you have???when i started to look at your movies I had 1 car now I have 4 👍👍😊
That’s a loaded question 😂 I believe I have around 60 in good or decent running order. 🤯 I have plans for most of them lol
Great car. You make great videos I am new in hobby cars could you please suggest me any good car for beginners?
Thanks!! I have a recent video showing my favorite RC cars under $250. A lot of them are closer to $100 but pretty much any of those would be great depending on what you want to do with it. (Jumps, drifting, etc.)
Your nuts for this but I love it 😂😂
Haha, thanks!! 😊 😂
Ahh yes, the Hosim Victory Winner Franken... Thing.
😆
Love y'all
🥰🤜💥🤛😊

I don't know what's going on with youtube but it wount let me see your reply to my comment !!
Whaaaaaat?? Here’s what I responded: Thanks!!! It depends on the model.
Specifically the electronics and how stout the drive train is. Some cars can handle quite a bit bigger tires pretty well and others might explode pretty quickly lol
@DerbyCityRC 👍👍 got it thar time
