Great video Patty! Thanks for the product review, your enthusiasm with aquariums is inspiring me to get back into my aquarium hobby, and I think this light is going on my shopping list!
Thanks Jay, I love this hobby and I’m happy I could inspire you to get back into it. If you have any questions you know how to reach me. Thanks for watching 😁👍
Thanks Tara, I like to try to give a detailed demonstration of the operations of all the products I review. I feel that can be the biggest reason hobbyists might want to watch these videos is to see how they work. Thank you the Pogostemon is definitely a weed. One of my all time favorites. Thanks for watching 😁👍
I have the wifi version, definitely a very sturdy build. Unfortunately, I was never able to get the app to work even with "help" from "customer service"... Great video Patty's. If the non wifi has the same build quality as the wifi version, I'm sure it will be a great light.
Ok so since you didn't provide any of the technical specs of that light in your video I checked out the link and found out this light is only at 5k warm spectrum which may be fine for your basic non planted aquarium but for us plant guys we need a 6500k daylight unit, and still the hygger beats this light in wattage and price point- so I'll be sticking with my hygger lights.
No I didn’t show any technical specs except for there spectrum charts they provided. I give my opinion on it initially and how it works. Now I don’t know if your familiar with my channel but I keep all dirted planted tanks and have been using this light on a new tank build the last 3 weeks and have been getting really good growth so far. That being said to each their own I completely get it. I like Hyggers and Seaoura lights a lot as well. I will test this light for a few months and do an update on it. So if it doesn’t hold the standard I require for my planted tanks I will show it but from what I have seen this far I don’t see that happening. Thanks for watching and your feedback 😁👍
Interesting post, I grow plants (with CO2) I like warm light, around 4 to 5K, too much blue and I have always had algae issues sooner or later. I use two photo periods so the controllers on most of these models don't suit me and I use more intense light, and find that the budget lights designed for the hobby don't have the total output that simple (and very cheap) LED outdoor floodlights have, and for many tanks punch is important for substrate carpeting plants. The marketing technical blurb on the Glowrium doesn't seem to give lumen/PAR measurements. I find Hygger, like Nicrew also too dim for red or carpeting plants, though I have grown crypts and Java fern with Nicrew I posted some tests I did some time ago on this site. Here are just three tests I did for illustrative purposes: 72 Watt Hygger (temperature can be adjusted so no point testing K) @source 300 PAR @18” distance 30 PAR (better than Nicrew but still only suitable for lower light plants) 30 Watt budget flood light compact @source 1000 PAR @18” distance 70 PAR (Kelvin 5000 - supposed to be 3000K) 32 Watt Nicrew @source only 125 PAR @18” distance 18 PAR (>1200 Kelvin, cannot be run with just white light) does have a blue setting but what purpose does that serve?
Just what was looking for. You hit the nail on the head once again. Thxs Sir
It is a decent light. Thanks for watching 😁👍
