    Im glad someone made another rare 3.5mm franco review. Was gonna get the 3 but i think the 3.5 would be a wiser choice. Thinking of getting mines in 24 in tho here in the next couple months. Prolly gonna pair it with a boss cross alil after that. Nice vid tho (:

    • @MrDaleVerde
      @MrDaleVerde  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks fam! If you’re indecisive between the 3 & the 3.5, I’d definitely say go up! It’s definitely worth it IMO. The boss cross would be a dope setup with a 3.5mm franco. And 24” isn’t a bad length at all, but just be mindful the pendant is gonna drop it a bit and the bottom of the cross might hang it down an extra 2” or so. If you like long chain setups tho go for it, still would be a fire combo regardless

      @@MrDaleVerde you’re welcome brother (: ,yeah i just want something im gonna slip over my head. But yeah 3.5 i think its where its at cuz Braden said the 3.5 is more closer to a 4mm & i was thinking of getting a standard boss cross. I dont think it should weigh it down too much & its not too long of a pendant which i like. I want my setup to be subtle & not too flashy. I dont like too much attention. Id mainly wear the boss cross at certain nice events & just the solitaire franco for everyday wear/use for like work or working out & such. Cant wait to join u in the jacoje fam. 5mm franco bracelet would be choice too 👍🏽

  • @Adamas11
    @Adamas11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice chain, fam! 💥🚀 How are you digging the 3.5mm Franco after almost 2 1/2 years?
    I leaning towards 20” 3mm dc Franco 18k white gold. I have a 20” 2mm dc Franco 18k white gold that I wear solely with a pendant. It is about 15g. The 3mm Franco is ~30.4g so that is a nice jump in weight for only going up 1mm. It is a nice size and weight for an everyday, stand-alone chain. That being said, the 3.5mm dc Franco 18k white gold is tempting (~53.5g), but I don’t want to drop that kind of coin. It’s crazy the jump in total grams going up 1/2mm in the Francos, especially in 18k. I could get 3.5mm dc Franco in 14k white gold (~44.7g), but I am pretty much set on 18k white gold. Argh, what a dilemma!
    I only do white gold jewelry and prefer 18k for the extra density and heft. And subtle flex as you stated. Jacoje has an informative video on TH-cam - 14 vs. 18k white gold. Braden’s quote nails the description of 18k white gold:
    “More gold around the neck for that spec”

    • @MrDaleVerde
      @MrDaleVerde  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Much appreciated! 2 1/2 yrs later I’m still loving my Franco, still glad I made the decision on these specs as I still feel comfy wearing it all day every day, coupled with an 18” 14k 2.5mm rope chain. I really think I wanna add a matching pendant to both, but no rush on that as I like the paired look without one.
      Are you thinking of replacing your current 2mm Franco with the 3mm or possibly the 3.5mm? If so, you can never go wrong to upsize imo. Also, I feel like if you’re torn between two sizes go with the bigger one! Less chance of regrets that way. Although I fully understand that price starts adding up quickly!
      If 18k is your thing, I’d say stick with it. 14k for me personally is a sweet spot & I never wanna drop down lower than that when shopping around for jewelry, so if 18k is your standard then that’s what it is if you ask me

    • @Adamas11
      @Adamas11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am going to keep the 2mm Franco to pair with my pendant (custom Bobby White diamond lion pendant) and add the 3mm Franco which will be worn as a standalone chain. The 20” 3mm Franco in 18k white gold is about 30-31g and a nice weight for an everyday chain. I never take my chains off. Sleep, shower, workout, etc. with them on.
      18kt is my thing, so gonna stick with it.

      I love the extra shine of the DC. The extra shine is subtle tho, so I don’t think you’d be overdoing it with a DC chain in a longer size to couple it with a smaller one. Still can’t lose by matching with a longer plain tho. It all comes down to personal preference!

      @@MrDaleVerde Would you ever consider the same chain in 18kt? I only want 18kt for the deeper gold color, but maybe I just need to calm it down and get the exact chain you got.. What do you think? I trust you bc that chain looks dope af on you. I'm 6'2" athletic build like u so we probably got similar proportions. Also, what do you think about the 20" with this chain for a daily wear vs 22"? Basically, for a daily chain that won't ever come off, 14kt or 18kt? and 20" or 22"?

      @@jaredtop_ I love my setup (14k 22”), but at the end of the day it’s all up to the person who’s wearing it. 18k would be good too, clearly a richer gold, one thing to consider is the purer the gold the softer the metal will be. Although I doubt there would be any concern of a daily 3.5mm 18k solid Franco being too soft, since the Franco style is so dense. Also the price… for the 3.5mm Franco the 18k is a bit of a jump for most people, but if price isn’t a concern 18k is definitely not a bad choice.
      Regarding 20” length, that’s not a bad choice either but there are a few things to consider. One thing is the fact that the 20” may have a tendency to unintentionally tuck into your shirt much easier than 22”. Another thing to consider is planning your setup for the future. If you plan on layering chains, gotta think about what lengths would suit your style best. For me, I got a 22” with intentions of later getting a thinner 18” chain, which I did and I love it. I also plan on getting a pendant for both my 18” and 22” chains too, and keeping that 4” gap in chain length is critical to the look of the smaller length having a pendant, so it doesn’t overlap the longer.
      Honestly I could go on and on about why I consider this chain & length, but don’t wanna make this reply super long lol end of the day tho, 20” 18k 3.5mm Franco is still a great everyday setup in my opinion. Just remember to consider your future setup and determine whether or not you think it will fit it.

      @@MrDaleVerde Dale!!! This is the most in depth and well thought out reply I've ever gotten on YT! I really really appreciate it man, and you addressed every single thing I'm worried about. I just pulled the trigger on the 20" 14kt 3.5mm. I figured that I want to wear this chain 24/7, whether I'm sleeping, showering, swimming, working out, etc. So 14kt >>> 18kt for that 100%. I literally only wanted 18kt for the color.. And I get to save a fat chunk of cash.

    14 karat gold is garbage. You’re getting ripped off going through that company. Anybody wearing Jacoby I laugh , do you know nothing about gold or jewelry.

      I personally only buy 18kt+ and I’ll buy 14kt at a little over melting price via eBay or something, but it’s not like everyone can afford 18kt or 23kt. Anyone can know the fact that 18kt-24kt is better value than 14kt, not being able to pay for it doesn’t mean you know nothing about jewelry.
      Judging someone for their choice in jewelry is honestly lame af tho 😂 like does saying “14 karat gold is garbage” so people on the internet can know your opinion make your day better?
      Gold is a game of baby steps. You work your way up.
