After watching 100 videos of franco chains I had my mind made up that I wanted the 3mm 22inch ... today I was in a jewelry store and tried on a 4.3mm 24inch. It was so much smaller than I thought. By looking at it I thought for sure it was 3mm at the most. I learned that these chains definitely look bigger on videos than they do in person.
I just received my 3rd Jacoje purchase, 5th piece from Braden. Stop looking. You found your jeweler. Most recently I purchased a 1.4mm box chain. I’m very very impressed with the attention to detail on the soldering near clasp. Only jeweler I’ll go to.

My favorite chain is the chain that I wear currently, it is my Jacoje link 3mm chain. This chain happens to be very first chain, & I think the design of the link is so unique, beautiful, & so eye catching. My husband wanted to get me a Franco, but I wanted the Jacoje link so bad, & he purchased it for me from Jacoje. While still have that’s fat gold around your neck. Either way I love yellow white rose all the gold! But yeah looking at the 22inch 14kt white 5mm Franco here!
Good points…I agree that the 3mm Franco flops around a little bit different. It doesn’t lay as strong and heavy as a heavier chain. A heavier chain is definitely going to lay better. Like you said, it is going to be like an anchor on your neck. That being said, I had a 20” 3mm Franco and got rid of it for the reason above. I am thinking about 22” 3.5mm Franco. A heavier chain and slightly longer chain would lay better on my frame.

Thinking of changing from a rope chain into a Franco. Curious if there is any option to change the clasp on a 3.5 or 4MM Franco to a sleek clasp? I'm not even sure if a sleek clasp would work with anything but a Miami Cuban but its worth asking. Also, I do have a crucifix pendant on my 4MM rope. I would put it on the Franco as well. Would there be any issue with getting the pennant loop over the clasp? Thanks for any help...
Hmmm... your diameter sizing is a bit confusing. For your ropes you should count on the actual diameter being smaller than advertised, but for your diamond cut francos they're bigger? Why would a 3.5mm basically be like a 4mm? Seems like all that does is give you more work, between answering sizing questions via email and dealing with exchanges. Why not just advertise them to be what they are? I understand that writing 4.2mm or 3.7 seems a bit odd, but a 3.5mm should not be 4mm. You're also potentially losing customers when they see that a 4mm franco chain from HRC is significantly cheaper than a 4mm franco from Jacoje, since they don't realize that your 3.5mm is equivalent to HRC's 4mm. I feel like you shot yourself in the foot with that one. Good content otherwise. I like your stuff and your prices.

If anyone happens to still read comments years later, the 4mm D/C Franco at 18Kt that I bought came in at close to 4.5mm. This is in 2023 so Jacoje Franco’s have been running big and there isn’t a thing wrong with it.
How close to 4.5??? That would make the weight a lot heavier, especially at 18 karat. I’m trying to figure out the best size to buy for the boss cross 3mm, 3.5mm or 4mm?? The problem is the boss cross hardly weighs anything but the Franco chain start to get up there in weight after 3mm. Any thoughts
@@GSUnit21 my Franco averages 4.4mm at a weight of 71.8 grams. So it has some decent weight and presence. I would say if the cross is light then go with the 3mm Franco so that the entire setup has a flow. Visually and in person the 4mm is way bigger than the 3mm, so I think the cross would look mismatched with the 4mm. But that’s just me and everyone has their own style and look. Good luck with the decision.

@@GSUnit21 I’ve heard that the Jacoje 3.5mm Franco is closer to 4mm. It would definitely be a step up from the 3mm but not as big as the 5mm you have. I personally like the 4.4mm I have. I haven’t had any issues durability wise but my chain is still a baby so ask me again in 5 years haha. The move to 18K was worth it to me. I love the extra weight and the more orange hue. I don’t have a pendant though so that keeps things a little lighter.
