Don't anticipate salmon fishing, but have a general question. Since it swims inverted, shouldn't the Zonker strip fur be reversed, or do salmon strike from the side or below?

Never had one snap on me. Thats a steel core wire rated for 20-30 pounds my line will always snap first. That said if it worries you you can always double it over making it closer to 40-50 pounds
