It doesn't last that far part ARR but yeah tanking in AAR is free as long as you can turn on tank stance and press your Mitigation
@@scottcrocker3265 Even then you really only need to mitigate in a few of the very top end fights. Like, I didn’t have to mitigate in any real way for Ifrit or Titan, at least not mitigate to survive an attack, I just used them once in awhile to make it easier on the healers, but I know for sure I didn’t use them for any specific mechanics and we were still fine.

@@Marmychuuu me too. Ive learnt about him from dota 2 tournament where he was a host, dude was funny and coool, just bring a very refreshing side and distinct himself from dota 2 nerds and analysts. While he may not be knowlegeable about dota2, he steered the show pretty well. Very talented host both in tournaments and in podcast like this.

The way they are talking about the mechanics and all the trials and struggles they had to go through to kill the bosses it really says something about this game. These guys obviously had really great experiences with years old content from a different expansion. That in itself is a massive difference in quality of game design between FFXIV and other MMO's on the market.
Summit can be dry in his streams so I thought he wasn't digging FF as much as he's coming across in this vid. Glad to see it 🔥

best thing that Asmon's channel has done for me is introduce me to Rich. I absolutely love this guy
Blizzard's quality expectations are so low that they saw Legion as a high quality successful expansion(it was good but not compared to wow's best)
and instead of trying to improve on it they just tried to do a half ass job of copy pasting it which resulted in BFA
it's just obvious the core of their thinking and ideas are rotten and it bleeds in to their efforts
Their projections were trending down n they just cashed out over time n slowly implemented more cash grab systems n they made a boat load lol even the pres took a massive pay raise as his products numbers n player base plummeted. Its cold calculated business. Wow players have a personal connection while it's just biz for the devs. FF keeps that personal connection at the forefront which allows them to successfully implement their business models with full player support. Yoshi p is coveted lol.
Blizzard has been doing the same stuff since WOD. Implement grindy timegated mechanics that are only good in current expansion. Just to introduce a new mechanic into the new expansion, making previous progress completely useless and a total waste of time.
Character progression in WoW seems to have stopped since MoP.
As a person who picked a bard... going to go get some ointment for that burn.
My favorite current MMORPG is Star Wars The Old Republic.
I really feel that game is underrated for whatever reason.
Deserves more love definitely, it added some cool Star Wars lore too

It's funny that you mention it , I was planning to return to check it out when I saw their plans for combat styles or whatever they called it. I remember I quit around the time they made Ilum obeselte and said that they will only focus on the story, now it seems they will be back to actually make the game better so I might check it out. But I was under the impression that game is dead or something , how is the playerbase?
@@thickac7579 Well they wouldn't release new content for the game if it was dead. But you are right the playerbase isn't very big right now but I don't really care about those sort of things as long as I have fun with the game and the developers keep supporting it which is the case.
I used to love PvP events in SWTOR. I levelled so many chars to 60 pvping and still in like first MSQ
talking about set party comps (2tank-2heal-4dps), I look forward to them opening party finder and seeing the 8 tank extreme parties. thats some crazy shit, doing 24 man raids with all healers.
The best thing I've seen was the 24 man sch Nier raid.

Aether does alot of this... I mean I've already done 8 tank parties of ruby emerald and diamond. The dps check on those fights are pretty low.
DRG isn't the easiest job. SAM and current-form of MNK are way easier. DRG has a heavy off-GCD list that also comes with the catch of ... if you use these at the wrong times, you're dead. On top of proper management of two party buffs at key moments. And multiple positionals.
scaling is awsome when done well,look at guild wars 2,the world feels awsome
God with all the smug coming from Asmon, i can't wait to watch him wipe for hours and hours on Warrior of Light later on.
That is a tank make or break moment.

Not sure what's up with the audio on this - randomly gets a lot louder for a bit, then goes back, then gets loud again (like someone keeps messing with the volume slider). e.g. 6:31 to 6:40, then is quiet until 7:15

the big difference between the studio that makes FFXIV and Blizzard is that they have a vision and certain goals and they're pushing their games towards those goals slowly, kinda like wine how it slowly gets better and better with time
but Blizzard only thinks about the current expansion and even then the expansions are not really that different from each other, it feels like the same game but you can tell it's slowly getting worse and worse and worse
Bruh squares biggest thing is they didn't want to tarnish their best Franchises name. So they definitely made up for it and showed how awesome they are.

I just wanted to say, regarding you comparing Samurai to Outlaw Rogue - amusingly, the one that feels the most like Outlaw is actually Monk, at least when it comes to burst - Monk's burst phase feels exactly like how Dreadblade burst felt back in Legion, and god, I fuckin' love it.

Paul Barnett was a powerful driving force behind the hype train. I quit Warhammer Online for 1 reason, they released it incomplete. I was excited to play an Orc Choppa and a Dark Elf Black Knight, then they released the game with out those very same classes that I wanted to play. It was the last game I have ever bought a collectors edition for.

Ashes of Creation, a game that exists even less than Star Citizen, and somehow people are still hyping for it. Atleast people who paid for Star Citizen can play their game. It's been six years since they *announced* the game, only two and a half years less than Star Citizen, and people still think this game isn't going to be either Vaporware, or Crowfall 2.0, after paying 500$ for a Technical Alpha that somehow managed to be worse than their "Battle Royale" Cashgrab
The comments from new players about low level Machinist gameplay always make me chuckle. Machinist is the ultimate example of "Oh boy, just you wait." as far as how much more involved it gets at higher levels.
My most fun in pvp come from korean mmo, Dragon nest, so fast paced
there is a lot of stuff that's grindy but the good part of it is that it's good for everyone.. like the mentor roulette bc of that low lvl players etc always find people for dungeons etc
Blizzard just tries to make expansions from the same formula with different themes and slightly new features ignoring the fact that they've lost so many players and the players they still have are bored out of their minds
meanwhile FFXIV is genuinely building and improving on a healthy foundation they have and it's getting better and better because they have a vision and they care unlike Blizzard

@@RyanAKAStreakk Then don't use it. click target, or use whatever you want. Those of us who've used it for years, can attack multiple targets by rolling through tab and shift/tab combos and single target /list clicks, way faster than we could ever hunt and peck a target on the screen.
What the hell fun is 'easy mode'? There would be no point of playing Extreme / Savage / Ultimate raids, because you'd be left out of it entirely.
Get over yourself. Leave a single genre alone that already has an established playstyle. Keep your own twitch-shot action gaming where it already is.... EVERYWHERE else. lol

Before playing ffxiv I was shocked to hear how popular the tanking jobs in the game were.
Now that I’ve been playing for a few months and actually seeing how easy they have it (I’m not talking about TOP tier content here…) in most raid situations, I totally get it.
I’m still surprised healers are as sought after as they are haha 😳

The truth about New World that I didn't hear any of them really mention: the game is fundamentally made for people who like doing some pvp, and some pve, but aren't super into either.
I feel like Asmond and Summit are really criticising the lack of in-depth pve and that just isn't what draws most people to New World.
With that being said, if they don't fix the pve at all, everyone is sure to be burnt out within a few months.
Saying there is a lack of in-depth pve is an understatement. I love the game, it is a lot of fun...but I need more substance to keep my attention. Otherwise it'll end up just be running the same shit over and over again. Grind-fests are only fun for so long man.

I would say it's easy as fuck. I just replayed the whole series back to back and I had the most difficulty with three simply from the cheap enemy layout at times. Two was dead-ass. One was the difficulty sweet spot for me. Demon souls is the hardest game of them all though (I haven't played the remake yet to see if it still holds up) from what I remember.
@@SkelNeldory I played 3 so much that it's prob one of the easier ones in the series for me with the exception for the dlc bosses lol but yea I remember 2 kinda being a walk in the park, 1 was fun as fuck but omg the catacombs before that first patch for the game came out was impossible to play lol, of all the dlc I think the dlc for the first one was by far the best
There are many reasons that I never tried to play Wow depite watching videos and such on it, and how alts are treated is one of those. Knowing me, I’d want to try everything to see what I like the feel of like Rich would, and Wow does not make that easy. Ff14 makes multi-classing extremely streamlined by having it on one character. Sure you still need to level the class/job, but at least you don’t have to do all of MSQ and do ARR Relic Grinds again just to level a new job to see if you like it, like I would basically have to in Wow if I played.
If you want proof, I have been playing Ff14 free trial for like 2 weeks and I have level 50 dragoon and white mage, 30 Warrior, Scholar, and summoner, and working on Archer/bard. I am not even in Heavensward yet.
I strongly disagree with summits take on SP games not being as popular. The main reason is that there is a market for it, and big SP RPGs, as there is a market for MP games. I just think that companies start to realise that there is a market for every time of game.
To be fair you ARE supposed to kill the Moogles in a certain order to optimize mechanics and reduce damage.

I disagree about wow getting easier as you level up. Yea the core of your rotation is there at earlier levels but I actually prefer that. I concede that low level rotations in wow are probably too simple but what can you do? Once you get more talent point skills the complexity really does open up in wow and I’d say it gets more complex on a similar way to ff14. That being said ff14’s scaling raid content is leagues above snything blizzard has done. It feels they’ve really embraced the idea of progressing through the content at any pace you want where blizzard is still stuck in the past. My hope is that through classic maybe blizzard can get an accurate read on how much DPS each class/raid should do for the content available and maybe be able to scale older raids accordingly

Sea of thieves can lead to some ridiculous situations. Had a solo slooper feign being a new player to try and get us to leave so we held him hostage helped him finish his voyage then stole his stuff lol.
Lost Ark's pay to progress. It only affect pve. Pvp is equiliised. You can grind anything as a f2p player, what Whales can buy form the shop too. I wouldn't call it p2w. Skill and stategy sense worth more in both pve and pvp, then a faster progress.

I always think the same thing lol. Every time a WoW player talks about grinding, I'm like ya'll ain't done anything remotely as grindy as 99 Runecrafting (before easy mode blood/souls and ZMI), let alone something as bad as a 200M grind.
I love these allcraft uploads. I'm back at work and gyms are open so I can't catch the shows live anymore. The aftershows are another special treat and I can understand that they usually can't be uploaded. Slowly working through FF14 and this show keeps me entertained at work when I can't play. TY Luigi

No, rather than the community, it's the developers.
It's still going to be the same team making the game, so the same issues that are easy fixes now that they refuse to implement and the philosophies will still exist.

Ok, that's it, I'm switching to PLD just to ease my brain.
If you want brain ease, play WAR. Does big damage, has really good tools, and it's very straightforward to play. With PLD, you need to alternate between a physical and magical damage rotation.
Or play Dancer, which is ridiculously easy to play well and contribute in a group.
