I was homeschooled from 1st grade all the way to my highschool graduation. I can say looking back on this I’m grateful my parents chose this route for my life. My parents ensured I had a great social life with activities. One of the greatest things I achieved while being homeschooled outside of the books was earning my blackbelt in korean karate with my younger brother. Being homeschooled I can also attest that my best friends are my family.

Nick, I'm a big fan of many of your podcasts and life perspectives on fitness, health, and leadership...but I have to say I am disappointed with the lack of pushback or devils advocate questions from you on this podcast. Regardless of whether you believe 80% or 20% of what he's saying, a good interviewer probes and challenges a little when someone I'd clearly spouting controversial stuff.
This guest made conspiratorial claims about an agenda in our society and school systems that immediately showed me he's deep down in the rabbit hole and thinks he's done his own research and outsmarted the experts, without him thinking about the value of expertise in so many of the professions that help our society function well. Pilots, engineers, scientists, firefighters, and yes educators. We don't need to blindly follow them but we should have more respect for our teachers.
No doubt there are some underlying truths that we should think for ourselves sometimes, and shouldn't outsource everything. Certainly every parent should do what they think is best for our child's education.
But as soon as this guest went on a rant about critical race theory and transgenders I could tell he had drunk some kool-aid propaganda that's not based in reality.
I hope at a minimum you have a guest on your podcast in the future that has a different set of beliefs and expertise on how we can improve education in our country without taking society backwards 100 years. This podcast presented one side and to some degree that's fine its interesting to hear different views, but frustrating to hear those views unchallenged and to hear no alternative perspective.

We should trust the "experts"? The experts that brought us: two unwinnable wars that lasted 20 years; the 2008 financial collapse; unconstitutional surveillance programs; that shutdown the country for 2 years over a virus they repeatedly claimed was naturally occurring and razed the careers of anyone that brought up a lab origin hypothesis; the experts that attempted to compel all citizens to receive a vaccine that didnt even produce sterilizing immunity; then after demolishing 1,000s of small businesses and devaluing thr currency through inflation, they magically relent and state the virus most likely came from a lab, vaccines were never tested to stop the spread, amd we can all forget about Covid now because it served its politically purpose.
      Oh yes. Those experts.

I was having this exact conversation with my husband earlier in the day and then listened to this podcast not knowing who the guest was. As mother to a 3 year old boy his education has been in the forefront of a lot of our conversations and this podcast was eye opening to the reality of schooling and alternative options out there. We planned to homeschool from the start but this has confirmed my belief in a broken school system and the agenda to create drones instead of free thinking, strong individuals with an education that is relevant to their environment. Great podcast!

11 people have been responsible for calling around to other states and districts asking for the banning of books. 11 people. 11 people can decide what your kid reads because they whined about it. And that’s all facts like not a conspiracy it’s what’s happening. This country is getting so weird and education is in the gutter so so sadly y’all 😂
