We did the Jack Harter 60min flight back in Oct 2017 and it was awesome - doors off is definitely the ONLY way to do it! The 60min JH flight turned out to be 67mins so you certainly don't get cheated for time with JH helicopters! One thing to note is that all helicopters are expensive beasts to basically run and keep safe. They cost $X dollars an hour to basically operate (yeah a lot!) and the seat price is calculated on all seats being filled. If you can't fill every seat then you will have to pay for any empty seats - otherwise they will operate at a significant $loss. This is not unusual. Fortunately we had a family of 4. The incredible Kauai highlights are all covered in the first ~50mins so in my opinion a 90min flight would just not be worthwhile. Yes although expensive - on Kauai the helicopter flight is a MUST do as most of it is very remote.
Hey I know this is an old comment, but I am planning to book a trip this october, but am concerned about October being a "Rainier" month. In your experience, did this ever effect anything you were trying to do? I've read a lot online and it seems that rain is not much of a factor because it usually falls at night and the showers during the day are fast. Also, we will be in the middle of the island so we could always drive North/south I guess?
@@ToastyMcNuggetLuvr G'day Toasty - of course you can never ever plan/predict the weather - but for October I'd probably recommend a mid morning flight (9:30am)
Priya the 60min flight is more than enough - the first 50mins is definitely where all the good stuff is - after that not so much. Our 60min flight turned out to be about 67mins but you don't pay extra. This was 60 minutes. I can not speak to the 90 minute tour - but I can say that we were VERY well satisfied with the 60 minute tour!
