  • Hi everyone! I'm back today with a requested video on how I manage my tasks. I'm relatively new to daily to-do lists. Daily tasks lists weren't part of my workflow prior to 2021. Instead, I made ad hoc lists when I needed them. I only started with daily task lists when I picked up two part-time jobs. I had a lot of little things I needed to remember and I found I was forgetting things (or feeling anxious about forgetting things). I tried a bunch of things before deciding to use TickTick. There are many options out there but this was the one that I liked the most at the time and I've been using it ever since.
In this video, I show you how to set up tasks in TickTick and how I like to use this app. There's much more I could say about this topic (I love organization and productivity) but I didn't want the video to be too long. If you have any questions, please leave them down below and I'll do my best to answer.

Thanks for the insightful tips! If you have a task that you want to work on today, although the due date is say 2 weeks ahead, is there a way you manage them into a TODAY list (the one by default tracks based on the due date, so this may not work).

I’m sure there’s a fancier way to do this but I handle this type of situation in one of two ways: (1) If it’s a big project that I can break down into sub tasks, I’ll enter the smaller tasks leading up to the due date; (2) if it’s a smaller project or task but I know I won’t get done in one day, I’ll set up a daily recurrence so I remember to work on it a little bit every day until the due date. Hope this helps!

I've been thinking of starting to use TickTick, and I'm glad I came across your great video! Thank you for all the details you shared especially your reasons for making the choices you made. I also appreciate you taking the time to explain at an understandable pace. Priceless! If I'm going to use TickTick for both personal and business. Would I need to create two separate accounts? Thanks again, and congratulations on your book!

Thank you so much for your kind comment! I’d try starting with one account for both personal and business use, and just group your tasks into different categories. I believe you can share specific items if you’re collaborating with people so they won’t have access to your personal items. Please let me know how it goes if you end up trying it!

You're welcome! Thanks for your advice and pointing me in the right direction. And I appreciate you being open to me sharing. Being new to TickTick I'm sure I'll have some more questions : )
