Great to see this method in action. Thanks for showing it. Have you researched any quieter pressure pumps? That is the only thing right now stopping me from implementing something similar to what you have. I have had this idea for a while because I have a high water table and a sump that runs a decent amount in our basement so it should always have enough water in it to run this. I want to tap into that to fill my toilet tank but our living room is very close to the basement. I am looking for a quiet pump or alternate solution to fill the tank from this ground water. my ideas are using a sump or pond pump and an electric switch float valve in the toilet to shut it off or either find a quiet pressure pump or some way to silence a pressure pump. any thoughts?

Yeah, the noise is the one draw back. But it is on-demand so it's only rarely on. Though, I kind of like explaining the sound to visitors. They're usually impressed. ;)

@@GordBuildLab yea I have a few 1/6hp sumps I got on facebook marketplace that I love because they are totally quiet but it adds complexity to it. I watched one video earlier with a 4 channel pump like yours instead of 4 that was quieter. I also want to run it off of solar / battery eventually.

take a look at this video. wondering if this would help just wrapping the pipes in some foam insulation? I also wonder if you put some under it where it contacts the wood to dampen any vibration? Might be an interesting youtube video to test out? th-cam.com/video/S5ansTftQNw/w-d-xo.html

Great video but I’m not understanding one thing , do you have to add an extra tank above your toilet or this all happens through an on-demand pump? Also do you chlorinate the rain barrel water?

No, I just cut into the pex line that already goes to my toilet. I installed a one-way valve to keep rain water out of the rest of my plumbing, and some valves that let me switch between rain or city water. My wife made me put one of those chlorine pucks in the toilet tank, but since I mostly water plants I leave the rest untreated.

@@GordBuildLab Gord, excellent videos horrible music intro. I do hope you showed your wife and wrote out a cheat sheat of how to operate all this. Please let your wife read this so she will know that chlorox in commode tank is killing good bacteria needed to digest the sewage wherever it is headed. I envy your ability to envision and engineer this.

What crimps/clamps did you use for all your pressurized lines?

I use clamps. Just whatever bag of them I pulled off the shelf at Menards.
