It's impossible to understate how revolutionary and groundbreaking the Mirage was in the first few years it was open. A lot the amenities we take for granted now as standard for Vegas hotels and resorts, they started the trend.
So cool that this is actually available to view on TH-cam. I visited the Mirage numerous times from 1992 - 2000. This brings me right back to the moving walkway next to the white tiger habitat where the audio from this video played overhead. I was sad to hear that this once icon of a resort is now a mirage. 🙁
I stayed at The Mirage when I went to Vegas for the first time back in 2016. My family weren’t impressed with the hotel’s conditions but I absolutely had a blast! Though I got to see MJ: One at Mandalay Bay, I wish I had got to see Beatles Love at Mirage. Thank you for the memories Mirage, till we meet again… ❤🌴🎰 1989-2024
I spent big chunks of my summer growing up at this hotel (my mom liked to gamble A LOT) and it was pure magic in the early 90s. The resort was so well maintained and the vibe was terrific. The pool was my favorite hotel pool of any I have ever been to. I wish I could travel back in time and relive those afternoons at the pool drinking virgin pina coladas or waking up early and sitting at the bar in the coffee shop ordering a grown up breakfast all by myself. It was honestly the best. RIP Mirage.
Went there with a friend to celebrate our 40th birthdays in 1990. It was fabulous! Saw Siegfried and Roy, went to spa, ate good food, gambled, such fun 🤩
The Mirage will never be forgotten, I grew up staying at the Mirage with my family multiple times starting from 1995 - 2002 and again 2023. I'll always cherish the memories and experiences I had made at the Mirage. I can't forgive Hard Rock for rebranding and retheming the Mirage by destroying the iconic Volcano, the pools, the Polynesia tropical theme, the atrium, cascading waterfalls, and the rain forest. It will never be the same in the Las Vegas Strip...thank you for this video.
I can imagine Clark Griswold having the family sit down and watch every second of this video to ensure maximum fun time for the family vacation...before proceeding to blow his life savings on blackjack, of course.
There was nothing like The Mirage from 1989 until about 1999. Blew everything away at the time. The Bellagio surpassed it but for a while there was nothing in the same ballpark as the Mirage. I LOVED going there. I can't say that about any Vegas hotel now, including Wynn.
4:56 As someone who loves to see how slot machines have evolved, I love that this video shows the type of slot machines that were being manufactured back then.
My family and I had been going there since 91 and staying since mid 90s. We saw S and R, danny gans and love. Spent endless hours at the pool and best of all swam with the Dolphins. Went one last time and stayed the week before closing. Very sad, I will miss this wonderful place. Thanks for posting.
Thank you for posting this! I still remember watching this video when I first visited LV and stayed at the Mirage back in the early 90s! I watched it over and over when I was in my room.
I miss The Mirage, well old Las Vegas in general from that time period, it was like the home away from home despite being just a visitor that stays there, especially the family friendly atmosphere, entertainment and in a sense a form of mysticism and wonder when you enter these themed resorts that can’t be replicated in feel or tone anymore in today’s world 😢
We need to bring back classiness to the United States! Miss these times.

Yes.. from 1990-1997 The Mirage was the Best hotel on the strip. The Desert Inn and Ceasars Palace were second and third..

I was an opening day employee and spent 13 wonderful years there. It was the best job ever at the most glorious time ever.
I bet, what a fun experience you must have had.

You’ll see it again in 2027 under a new name. The STOF/Hard Rock own it now so it’ll be Hard Rock Las Vegas

Thanks for uploading this, man I wish I was old enough to visit vegas in the 90s during the highlight times.
Bless your heart for posting this. What a trip down memory lane.
Very cool with Steve Wynn narration

Such a beautiful hotel. Leave it to the Hard Rock Hotel owners to destroy everything great about this property.
They haven’t done anything yet. I got a feeling it’s not gonna happen if a recession hits.
Thank you for posting this! Wonderful childhood memories at this amazing resort! So sad it's going away! I guess it was just a mirage, after all! ❤😢

Thank you for uploading this - it's interesting insight into Las Vegas history, especially now as the story of The Mirage is coming to an end.
Thanks for recording this!!
I love these videos I wish there was more
I was inside right to the moment when security made everyone leave on wednesday

GOOD DAYS OF LAS VEGAS ...
Sounds like Wynn himself is narrating?
Yes it is.
I sleep so hard to these Vegas videos 😴
I miss the mirage 😢
"The good old days"
4:26 "its there in your room... somewhere" lol that inspires confidence
I know I left it SOMEWHERE in here, damnit
“Do Not, I repeat, do not, over eat…” yeah right 😂
It's amazing to think about the steps he went to, to make a person feel 10 stories above their station. "Sin City" today, really has become a sin.
Rip mirage
Love going to see the dolphins and getting ice cream as a kid
love it love it obsess
Oh wow. Do you happen to have the Circus Circus video??
