I used to manage the social media for Eweknit Toronto and I was the one who reached out to you about sending you the pattern! Every time you talk about it I get so happy to hear that you love it! I knew right away I wanted to reach out since the dream sweater is so cozy and so great for snuggly winter days and I always feel so snuggly and cozy watching your videos. Thank you so much for all your hard work on your version!
I found this super useful Kat! I follow you and a couple of others to see how you modified a pattern, whether you liked how the Designer writes patterns and also to see how something fits you. So thanks so much for doing this. It took a couple of watchings before I got through it, but it was wonderful!
I loved this video. I am going to be brave! I have knit one simple Flax raglan sweater and I'm going to take the plunge and knit something harder next. With lace! And thinner yarn! I'm excited. I have the yarn and I've made a bunch of swatches and am trying to decide on the fabric I like the most. Hooray! I got a lot of great ideas and knowledge from this video so thank you for making it!
Ohhh that's so exciting! I am so glad you are taking the leap! If you're nervous don't forget about lifelines (and how handy those little holes are on interchangeable needles if you use them for making lifeline without having to stop working on your project!) ✨
Beautiful jumpers! I have the same thing with my eye color. Honestly, I think the type of light we're in changes things the most. I just wear whatever color makes me happy that day.😂
Loved this episode! Reminded me of some projects I’ve wanted to knit for ages and still want to so thanks for sharing and taking the time to do this. Also, you look great in some of the colours, not just black!
I adored this reflective compilation so much and have been inspired to add a few to my wish list. Thank you for taking the time to make this incredibly inspiring and super helpful video! And I LOVE the term ‘wool pantry’! 😃 Susie from Australia
Aww thank you ever so much for joining in, it's so lovely to be reaching all the way over to you in Australia, perfect time for autumn/winter knitting plans!
was lovely to sit with you and learn about all your makes! funny that you start with the elfmail - i just treated myself to a skein of Creative Anarchy yarn at EAYF and now i’m gonna make the elfmail once i’m done with my drop dead freddy!!! sending hugs to you, alex, and audrey :)
Hi Katt! Thank you for taking the time to try on and discuss your garments! You’ve inspired me to have a look through my own knitted wardrobe and make assessments 🖤
If I had to guess I'd say you're a cool winter. You look great in black and that soft pink! It would be interesting to know what the "experts" would say, though. Bottom line is to wear what feels best to you always. LOVE going through your makes! So many good designs!
Thank you so much! I absolutely think it's all down to what makes you feel good but like you, there's a bit of a curiosity about what 'experts' would say! I think a deep winter sounds out right too on the little delving I have done!
I can't wait to have a go at the Little Rebel dress! It looks like the perfect simple base layer I've been looking for. I actually prefer recipes where I have to do all the math and plug in the numbers myself, so it's doubly perfect 🥰
It's in my wardrobe, woops! There were quite a few I didn't realise I missed 🙈 I am so excited to overdye the Braids of Grass so it's wearable again, I love it so!
Ok Kat, so much to cover so little time! I believe the colors we like wearing ARE the colors we instinctively tend to look the best in . Whilst there are no “bad” colors there are some that are better than others for each of us. Really sad to hear about the Arachne, dang I really wanted to knot that! Can you email the chart only or is that illegal?Boskular is already in my library and my issue with yokes is similar to you. They just don’t always fit properly.hugs, ClaudiaSJI
Absolutely brilliant video it gave me loads of ideas for projects. I’ve just finished Braids of Grass and was debating what to do next looks like it will be Boskular I love yours and think it will be ok on me as I’m at an age where I can’t do cropped thank you for the inspiration
For your By The Campfire - RetroClause did a fix for a cardigan with a similar rolling edge issue where she attached a grosgrain ribbon to the inside of the cardigan edge
Ah thank you! That's the fix I think grosgrain! I am going to see if I can get some in town and do some hand-stitching! It'd be so nice to cosy up with this without having to pin it 😅
I made the smallest size and I think I'd like a smaller one if I reknit it but the amount of layers I can wear underneath it does make it more practical and more like a coat!
I do adore the arachne jumper - black & white spider web you have knitted. I would love to know what yarns I could use that are not animal-based? I do knit with plant/man-made-based vegan-friendly yarns & I'm thinking of a worsted thick cotton/bamboo/hemp or even high-grade acrylic/poly yarn. I will gauge test to the pattern & see how I go. Love your knit fashions, just my type & style...thank you. I would love any yarn suggestions from others
Oh my goodness I just finished a charcoal gray linen ranunculus and it’s beautiful. I think you would love it do it online and do it in linen it’s so gorgeous.
colour theory for skin tone - darker the features the strong the colour will look better on you, and as long as the colours that make you look sick are not near your face wear them if you want. If you want to know what tones will suit you if blue (cool) makes your face look brigher and more alive your cool, if it makes you look sickly you will suit warm tones better. If both work you are neutral and can wear anything. Tones and contrast are both important.
I loved this video, thank you Katt! I especially love your Unarmoured Defence and have it in my queue to knit. I’m currently working on the Garter Haramaki by Sybil R, which I think has a related aesthetic, that you might also find appealing x
Hey Katt! Love watching these long-term review videos that you do. They're so fun and informative :) For your campfire cardigan, could you sew a wide fabric strip on the inside to get it to stop curling? This is completely theoretical from me (I have never steeked anything), but I think I've heard about it from some other knitting youtubers! Cheers :)
Oooo that's a really good idea, I did naughtily put it away without addressing the issue but you've reminded me and I think it could be a good option and a nice opportunity for some quiet handstitching!
I noticed a lot of your jumpers are hanging out in the back. Have you thought about putting some decreases in the back under the yolk to bring it closer to giving the same ease in the back as front? But maybe it's just the nature of cropped length. I dont knit cropped.
I think it is in part the nature but also I do want to do a bit more experimenting with getting the shaping right in that regard (I also know that I don't adjust when I put them on, so that can have an affect too, woops!) I have a wonderful book called the Knowledgable Knitter, which might answer a few of my shaping questions! *fingers crossed*
@Katt Weaver | Knitting & Crafting I can't wait to hear what you figure out. I've only finished 1 sweater so far. I'm not sure about a lot of shaping issues yet. My first one was not cropped, so it didn't have this particular issue. I had trouble with the neck shaping. I didn't understand the short row directions (flax sweater put them after the yolk for some reason). It's a bit different from socks. The neck shaping is going better on my 2nd sweater (drawing sweater has much clearer neck shaping directions). Many shapeing issues, I know what to do if it were sewing, so I suspect that my flat knitting top will be easier to fit. It's just slow going since it's a cotton project.
I like the wrap on you. You have a slim waist, and the wrap accents your waist. The color suits you. I noticed that the high necklines do suit you better. And the wrap made your shoulders look broader for some reason. I don't think your shoulders are particularly broad because you wear other feminine jumpers (the mohair ones seem feminine to me as they are delicate looking frabrics). Your shoulders are angular/sharp as opposed to rounded but not broad. Perhaps the V-neck is why you don't feel right in the wrap. I think wraps are nearly always V-neck, but maybe if it crossed higher up. You could use a button to hold the upper part in place. I guess it would be a modified wrap top. Or a wrap that crosses more like a tulip skirt at the hem. I dunno what those are called or how to assemble. I have one in my RTW that I'd love to clone. It has a high cowl neck, and the wrapped tulip hem gives the impression of a crop sweater in addition to the high neck. I think this type of jumper would suit you. I would need a smaller gauge if I figure out how to clone this sweater. The bulky weight overwhelms my frame. I like fingering through worsted weight.
Ah thank you so much, I think you're totally right there, I didn't realise but you are right, I do have kind of 'sharp' shoulders, I never knew how to quite describe them before. I think if I did make the wrap cross higher up I would wear it a lot more, I might think about a hook and eye! Thank you so much!

Awww thank you so much! I was so dang grateful and so glad that you've reached out, it's become such a cosy staple! 🖤
I like your "dark" elegance. Your choice of colours is great. Congratulations.
Thank you very much. I have learned a lot from your experiences with different yarns and patterns. You inspire us all I’m sure.
Lovely garments handknitted by you! The pink jumper so delicate and lovely and suits you, interesting video🌺🌺
Love how you knit patterns over and over in slightly different ways! Enjoyed this :)

Yay for having a pink fase!! 😁💕 Absolutely love how the pink ranunculus looks on you!
They’re all gorgeous but I absolutely love the pink Ranunculus and the red cardigan on you! Thank you I got a few new knits in my queue ❤

I really enjoyed this run through, there’s a few that have been on my list for a while
That MGM intro!! 😻👏 I can already tell I’m gonna love this video!
Ty so much for this video and you look so lovely in the jewel tone items… such pretty items 😃👏🏼🥰🧶

Beautiful knits and such a fun, inspirational video! Thank you! Looking forward to seeing your summer knits.

Awwww Yay! Creative Anarchy is amazing ✨ That warms my little heart so much! It's a shame I couldn't make it to EAYF but I do hope to next year!
I loved the Audrey MGM title page
Hi Katt! Thank you for taking the time to try on and discuss your garments! You’ve inspired me to have a look through my own knitted wardrobe and make assessments 🖤
Thanks so much....very interesting and helpful to hear and see you process how the patterns and yarns have held up for you!

You've inspired me to knit so many sweaters! Thank you for making this video!
Koivua looks great Kat, it’s a keeper lol
Everything looks so nice, you are an amazing crafter. Thank you for your video, so fun as always :)
Really great to see all your beautiful makes. This gave me so many ideas. Thank you 🏴
Thank you so much 😊 I am so glad it can be useful!
Thank you. This was epic and wonderful, interesting and super useful
The braids of grass is so sad! :"( I love that jumper of yours, the pattern is definitely in my "someday" queue.
Also, I missed your spring flowers jumper! What happened to it?

We have fairly similar eye colour. Mine are a bit more of an olive green than a teal though.
Love all your videos. May I ask what size you made for the Eastwind Jacket?
I made the smallest size and I think I'd like a smaller one if I reknit it but the amount of layers I can wear underneath it does make it more practical and more like a coat!

Umm, that beginning 😭🥰 Ok. Now to watch your knit show.
