hi very good channel , i want to start baitfiness and I am hesitating between dark wolf ultra or black knight 2 ; what is your favorite of the 2 to start? thank you
Thanks and welcome to BFS.. they're basically the same reel but the Dark Wolf Ultra does Palm a little better to me because it has smoother lines on the outside of frame.. the Black Knight II has more cut or defined edges which can get annoying to some.. so basically which ever one looks better to you or matches closest to intended rod
These reels both need to change the brake pads if you go for a left handed reel. The left-handed reel uses the brakes from the right-handed reel (DWU and ) BK II, so it does not work correctly. This is solved by adding magnets or replacing the brake pad. I have a file for a 3D printer with a modified block for the left-handed DWU / BK II. I started bfs with BK1. This reel in stock with a Chinese glass rod by Aioushi and braided line can cast 1.5g spoons. But it starts to work normally from 2.5 grams. Check out the Elite Kestrel, people say it's one of the best BFS reels out there, even among Japanese ones. Later I bought Millionaire ct sv 70 shl and use it now. I couldn't buy Calcutta BFS due to sanctions )))

The BK2 spool has a short pin, while the DVU has a long pin. It is believed that a spool with a short pin will have a better balance than a long one.
