    I have a 86 voyager I just pulled out of my grandparents garage and got it running again, it sat for 20 years in there and my grandma passed away earlier this year so my grandpa decided it was time to clean out the garage and house to eventually sell and him and my brother pull out the van that I once rode in as a toddler back in 1999 and my grandpa was going to scrap it but I said no, I’ll buy it and restore it cause for 300 bucks ( aka the money he would have made if he would have scrapped it) who wouldn’t, in total Iv but about $950 into this van including getting a bonded title cause the original was lost and various out engine parts replaced that were seized up and finding a brake proportioning valve (pain in my ass to find) it’s up and running and I’m soon looking to repair the paint and drive around in my sweet ride once she’s finally inspected but I love to see there’s crowd out there that loves these vans and I’m proud to say that I own one for only being 23 years old and keeping some vehicle history alive

      Sacramento Automobile Museum owns it now. They paid me $1400 but I didn't do it for the money. I knew they'd immortalize it in a way that I'm not able to

    You might as well keep it and put as many miles as you can on it. Just enjoy it as much as you can. It's a classic!

      Yep, she karmacally won't leave me. Still daily her. In fact I'm giving the carpets a deep cleaning as I type this. Haven't had any solid bites, but did meet a few interesting ppl who came to see it, didn't buy/trade for it..but have become my friends by virtue of being another car enthusiast. Great experience overall!

    I had a 5 speed voyager. The shifter was too low, should have been 6 inches higher.

    I stopped seeing these vans years ago. I think they finally reached their life span. My Grandpa scrapped his 1985 in 2010. Super sad. This is pretty much the original family van.

    Dude keep it. Chrysler made maybe 4 of these with a 5 spd. Non existing. I have a minty 93with wood siding. Waiting on a new tranny rebuild. Check it out on my channel. Very similar. Oh and my headliner is totally ripped out. Do that. It looks better than all the saggy shit

  • @JoesGoldenGarage

    Dude I just keep commenting. That is a sweet ass van. That engine compartment! What the hell. Mint and so easy to work on. Glad you did the timing belt and water pump. How well does it cruise on the freeway?

    • @scowley86
      @scowley86  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cruises just fine. Driving through Utah I had to cut off cruise and downshift several times on some of the climbs, but does fine and has livable power 90% of the time

      @@JoesGoldenGarage 80 is reasonably easy yep. It's top speed is 87. But it's happy place is 70.
