In the actual story. The maid which is the lady in waiting, named is selia. Selia had the gift of people speaking and ani (the supposed crown princess) had the gift to speak to animals and the wind.
While they were going to the neighbor kingdom (bayern) selia and half of the guards betrayed the princess, tried to kill her to exchange selia to be the new princess and slaughtered half of the guards who are on the side of the crown princess.
It is much more tragic in the book and if you read it, you will be more angry at how selia and ungolad (her lover and also a royal guard) acted so selfishly and almost brought war to both kingdoms
The punishment to treason made by selia to ani was to put her in a barrel full of nails inside and roll it. But when they found out the truth, the punishment was given to her
Also, falada was her horse since it was born. In the book, a horse is born and says its name and if you say it back, you will both understand each other in your minds and form a strong bond. Sadly selia and ungolad made falada mad and was sent to death. Then they hang his head on a wall.

This version sounds fantastic I’ve also heard a similar version in which the princess can control the wind but she’s given some water which makes her forget who she is and because her fairy talisman has been hidden by the maid she can’t get her senses back until she sees it the king himself discovers the swap and sets about putting it right so his son can marry the correct woman
I used to watch stories of this channel daily in my childhood,I remember watching a story before a day I transferred to the UK from Japan I was perhaps 6 that time. It was midnight and my parents were packing the stuff,my father told me to stop watching the story and go to sleep as it was late. The next day onwards moving into a new country was hard and the jet lag and everything was too difficult for me to relax and watch cartoons,etc. I’m now a teenager and was remembering my childhood and decided to search for this channel,after going in its oldest video section I found the story after scrolling for a long time. I’ve finally completed watching this story after more than 7-8 years.

Wow, that is a wonderful fairy tale. A journey that leads to destiny and greatness. A princess with extraordinary beauty and bright powers, a good fairy godmother of royal blood and a loyal horse that talks, Falada. And for the waiting-maid who did terrible sins to the true bride of the prince, she got the greater punishment she deserved until death. Justice is done. I love the way things work out with magic, especially fairy magic. If my beloved fairy godmother were here, I could have her guidance and wisdom to help me whenever I'm in trouble. Nothing is impossible if you believe with all your heart.
