Not always. Wait until you get the $400 a night hotel bill, bit by mosquitos or have to wait in long lines for food. They've turned this area into Disney world complete with crowded and loud bus tours running all the time.

There's nothing wrong with not staying outside the park, in one of the nearby communities.
Where you can eat at a chain joint or local cafe.
Or buy picnic supplies to make your own lunch (i go often and never had a bear encounter).
The key to avoid the crowds is getting an early start, before the tourists wake up. I am usually on return leg when most others are just starting.
A few sacrafices of time and distance will be richly rewarded.
I am reminded that Peace on Earth still exists when viewing this magnificent creation of God's. I need to watch it again. Thank you!

I thought the same when I was there in 2019- until I saw the helicopter retrieving a body over the same area- it hung and swung dozens of feet below the heli. Tragic day in the valley. Nature is as beautiful as she can be unforgiving. After that, I never looked at those mountains quite the same way again. Enjoy nature but you better respect her too.
@@MOAB-UT I understand..I met a German family at an Irish bar in the 80's in S.F...I camped a few days later with my friend in Yosemite. Climbed the Vernal falls on a rainy day and bumped into the German family at the top.

Yes. Yosemite is a stickler for singular/plural. Nevada Fall is another one that people get wrong.

I was there last year. IMO the eastern side of the park is better than the west due to less people being there. Both are amazing
ya the park is huge and everyone ends up in the valley they miss so much.

Hi from Inverness, Florida! Breathtaking view, I want to go one day!
Everyone should see Yosemite once in their life. Tips. Reserve a room in the park one year in advance and stay in the valley. Curry Village, Yosemite Lodge or if you are well off The Awahnee hotel. Stay three nights. You'll be there when the crowds leave in the evening and before they arrive in the early morning, so you can enjoy a more peaceful experience. Never come on a weekend and never during a holiday. Come in the middle of the week. That said, don't let the fear of crowds deter you. Yosemite is sublime.

When I was 15 I went over Vernal Falls in an inner tube. I caught it on film but the film got wet. I'm better now.
