Thanks for the video! We are heading to this resort in February! It looks wonderful. I always say, rain on vacation is better than a rainy day at work lol. Maybe try again in February and we can say hi. 😂
The beach is usually like this, this resort is located in an area of rivers that frequently enter the sea and that keeps the water cloudy, however people go repeatedly to this resort, just as you describe it there are many positive things that make one come back, I have already been there 2 times and I am looking for a 3rd time. I admire the very precise way you make the reviews, congratulations!!
We went to that resort earlier this year, I think the water is always that colour, at least that's what we read from reviews. We did enjoy the beach being quiet and the water was always calm, the resort itself was quite nice, we had good service and food. Happy travels!
Ive been to La Romana 3 times (november 2019, june 2021, and september 2023) and the water was always crystal clear and blue! We stayed at Dreams Dominicus La Romana twice (favorite!) and Hilton La Romana once. The water at the Dreams beach was the bluest water I've ever seen! Hilton's was blue but not as clear, they had just had a tropical storm the week before though. Highly recommend those resorts!!!
Love your videos. My wife and I spent a week at the resort in march. Fortunately for us the weather was awesome. Disappointed the water wasn’t crystal clear but still enjoyed the resort. Staff was super friendly. This video brings back great memories. Thank you. We are also from Canada.😊
I've looked at this resort multiple times when deciding on resorts, I've always overlooked it because the water is brown, idk where y'all did your research, but there's nothing that indicates they have turquoise blue water there

We definitely don't go there for the beach, it looks pretty much the same all the time, maybe not as brown, but it's nothing like the beaches in the rest of the Dominican Republic.

Love your channel, but the title was a bit misleading. The hotel has no power over how the weather and water looked. We stayed there several years ago and after seeing the title of your video we thought "wow the hotel went downhill?" Again love the channel, but this might unintentionally give the hotel some bad press.
I disagree. If you watch the video, everything about the hotel is positive..the pools, the included drinks, the room, the quiet beach w/o vendors etc. They should let people know about issues traveling during the rainy season. I've used their videos to help plan trips and travelers should be aware that traveling during this time could have weather issues. I think this video will actually help the hotel by showing it in such a positive light.
@SetCCC yes everything "within the video praises the hotel" I'm talking about the title of the video. Literally the reason I clicked the video was because of the name of the resort and it sounded like they had a bad experience and I had such a great experience. But I'll say it got me to click.

We were there in October and the beach was the same. If you continued a little past the beach club you stopped at,there is a little corner where the water is a little nicer. But I have to admit the resort itself was great and it made up for the disappointment of the beach. As part time TH-camrs my video of that resort won’t be out for a few more months.
Hey there Anna and Trevor. We stayed at that resort prior to Covid (isn’t it funny how we measure time lol) and stayed in March and the beach was disappointing. It was green and murky and the staff said it was because river runs near the beach area. The resorts up the beach had nice bright beaches. While disappointing our beach wasn’t brown tho. We took an excursion to Sonoa island and enjoyed the blue water. The resort itself was amazing (adult only side) and felt like we were treated so well. Been to other Bahia Principe resorts, and while nice, and they didn’t measure up to this one for our service and the intimacy of the place. The only downside was that the beach wasn’t great. I couldn’t see my feet and that made me freaked out lol. Hope your vacation is enjoyable. Back home from LT. ❤
nice, fair review. I live where you vacation, so I am probably in 4 or 5 properties a year. My current favorite resort is in Miches, the Club Med is well run, and has a great variety, and good quality of food & beverage. We also enjoy Samana which has a couple of BP properties, and many AirBnB rentals. Get out of the resorts. I really recommend seeing if there is an excursion to San Pedro or Santo Domingo if the beach is looking muddy due to the rainy, post hurricane season. I have not been to a BP property in a few years, but I think we'll look for a weekend there. I also recommend that you spray repellent on your legs anytime you venture out. The dengue mosquitos hang out under tables, beds and shaded places and will usually bite below the knee.
@@DelightfulTravellers "I live where you vacation" is a tag that is often used by the "aplatanados" and others that post often in IG. I guess it's a humble brag. We excursion often to the north and south and occasionally caravan to those remote places.
thanks for this guys. We’re travelling from Halifax to this resort for 2 weeks next Sunday. We have read about the brown water but they also have a lot of jelly fish in the water, so not many people go in the water for that reason. That being said, the resort and pools look lovely so we will make the best of it.
Hey guys, thought I’d follow up after our 2 weeks at this resort. We had a lovely time and the water has cleared up a lot since you were there, so probably as you said, it was muddy because of the amount of rain when you visited. This was our first time in DR and hope to return again in the not too distant future. Nova Scotia was freezing when we got home 🥶 Happy New Year to you both and thanks for the great content.
We were there end of Nov 2024 and were disappointed with the water but not the beach area. We found the chair saving game terrible at the quiet pool. Food was good overall. Buffet was super busy. We usually had lunch the beach restaurant.
Hello, watched your channel a couple of times because I will be on my way to DR in a few hours. As a solo lady traveler, getting very nervous from what I read online ( hopefully I can walk out of the airport in one piece ). Lol. Also just noted how expensive the taxi is over there!! It seems like I will need to be ready to pay over $300 just for a few rides 😅. Any suggest ?
November especially and December are historically the rainiest months of the year. This year has been rainier than most. Anytime you're downstream the littoral flow of a river or in a bay where there is a river, the water will always get that color when it rains a lot.
I like this video review, I follow another couple that visit the all inclusive but the part that I feel is always missing is what is to do at night in the hotels, I understand some have theatre, night clubs and casinos but none is ever show case, is like dinner and the video cut to the next morning.

Trevor and Anna, you at least got a sunny day after all. Seems like a nice resort, but a shame about the lagoon. Is everything double occupancy or are there solo options available?
Looks like a lovely resort. In the past when going to the DR we always avoided this area as we are big ocean/beach people. Some people are more pool people so they are quite ok. Kind of like I prefer Punta Cana over Porta plata - but sometimes it does come down to price and just what you are able to compromise on. So funny Trevor at the end 🍺🥃🍹
As a Dominican living in Punta Cana here is a protip: Go to Bayahibe/Dominicus area, 100% guarantee of a beautiful *no seaweed* beach year round! (Cherry on top: the water is warmer!)
I know that a bougainvillea is a type of flower that grows on most islands. Maybe Bouganville is just a product of that flower name. What a bummer to visit there and the water is muddy color, hope it clears up before you leave the area.
Thank you so much❤, it was a very entertaining video, I would love for you to make a video in "Bahia de Las Aguilas in Pedernales🏝️" one of the most crystalline beaches in the world and it is in DR, I know youll love it. For sure🙌🏼🙏🏼 thank you again
That beach is always brown I would never stay there.. go over to the other resorts they have the beautiful beaches. Its a nice blue water at Sunscape La Romana.. etc.. you went to the wrong resort.
Usually when it rains I also think that the sand/mud kind gets mixed with the water, so a lot of that color are the sand/mud sediments mixed with the water, instead of the sand resting at the floor. After a couple of days, the sand should fall back down…. Unless it continues to rain.
I’m from the DR, and I love the rainy days 😂. I’m so sorry for the tourists that don’t like it, but it can get so hot and just overly bright (it hurts my eyes), that I actually LOVE when it gets all cloudy and rainy. I like it when it gets sunny for like a couple of hours, but that’s enough for me!
Very misleading. If the only disappointment was the sea, I can understand that, but the resort is not responsible for that. The thumbnail implied that you were disappointed with the resort.
OK then, my wife and i have been to this resort twice in the past and will be returning in march of 2025. Now then, about the beach and the water colour, I did my investigation 3 years ago and found out about this situation, no big deal since we are not beach people, outside of a morning walk the beach is not a big deal to us. But for those who profess to being travellers they fell a bit short when it comes to doing a standard check, and if you are a beach person that should be the first check you do, (perhaps you should have gone to Cuba i understand the beaches there are quite good). The "party pool" is not like you would see at lets say Riu Republica, the people we met in the past are of a decent age and not what you could consider as boisterous and if you wish to be friendly this is the place to go for good fun and entertainment. Yes the quiet pool is that really quiet, you can catch up on your rest and what ever you wish to do in the quiet of the day. Food here is grand and has just about anything you could ever wish and with lots of options you cant go wrong with any of the a la carte, the Brazilian Steak House, the Asian Fusion, the Don Julio and of course the Italian restaurant on the La Romana family side of the facility. Look I am not sure when this review was done but they seemed a bit light on the facility outside of the bathroom in their suite. Oh yes and dont forget the staff, the stafff is one of the best parts of this place (funny no mention of them) service here is great and one of the main reasons for a three-peat to come here, i cant say enough good about them from the maids to the bartenders to the grounds keepers and the general staff all are helpful and on top of their game. OK then i took a look at this review since it was relatively recent and to be honest i am a bit disappointed in the lack of mentions of entertainment and staff and things that make coming to a resort memorable. In my humble opinion. Agreed this is not Cap Cana but then again it is not a Cuban experience either.
I am predicting this will be about the water colour before even opening video. I remember seeing that 20 years ago on Trip Advisor when research is resort. Not what you want in a beach getaway.
Love your videos but that place is a great place is call playa nueva romana and the resort is Bahia principe Boganville I have villa there and is nice and lots of security
In dose all inclusive resorts of Punta Cana and La Romana if you want to get good service need to give a good tip to all workers. At least this is my experience.
Clickbait. I did not see the video, reading the comments describes the video as such. Why? Just to get people to watch another video showing the same content of visiting a lame resort with bland food

My son and I just got back home after a week in Puerto Plata and although there were a few heavy showers overall it was sunny, hot and humid
Sounds like you hooked a great week! We're glad you had a great time 😀 - Trevor
Hi! Will you have a video about the floods when C & C from Jumping Places were visiting?
Sadly JP we’re here already but Chris and I were sick the whole time. We didn’t film a thing together but we all hung out every day 😀 - Trevor
As a Dominican living in Punta Cana here is a protip: Go to Bayahibe/Dominicus area, 100% guarantee of a beautiful *no seaweed* beach year round! (Cherry on top: the water is warmer!)
We've been and have videos on Dominicus / Bayahibe... check the channel - Anna
@DelightfulTravellers thank you Anna! Yes! I've seen the videos! My wife and I are fan of you guys. Thank you for everything you do for our country.
thats why i dont book trips until 3 days before! bad weather aint in for me!
We stayed at Bouganville a few years ago. Beach was really bad and there were hundreds of bees around each palm tree. Resort was nice with ok food.
Happy to report no bees for us! Great resort overall 👍 - Trevor
You must be kitters. That was the place where I got a ride on a 4 passenger motorbike…….love your shows
🤗
We went there last year and it was always sunshine and in the evening it rains a little bit.
What time of year? - Anna
@ November 2023.
Every rose has its thorn.
Hilton La Romana has a much better beach and lovely water (better resort too)
Good to know 😀 thanks! - Trevor
My wife and I stayed at Dreams resort in LA Romana and we loved it. It as in February of 2024
I know that a bougainvillea is a type of flower that grows on most islands. Maybe Bouganville is just a product of that flower name. What a bummer to visit there and the water is muddy color, hope it clears up before you leave the area.
It was a bummer but we still had so much fun 🤩- Anna
Thank you so much❤, it was a very entertaining video, I would love for you to make a video in "Bahia de Las Aguilas in Pedernales🏝️" one of the most crystalline beaches in the world and it is in DR, I know youll love it. For sure🙌🏼🙏🏼 thank you again
Thanks so much! We'll definitely keep it in mind 😊
That beach is always brown I would never stay there.. go over to the other resorts they have the beautiful beaches. Its a nice blue water at Sunscape La Romana.. etc.. you went to the wrong resort.
We had no idea the beach would be like this 🤷🏻♀ - Anna
Haha we want the sun always! 😂- Anna
Very misleading. If the only disappointment was the sea, I can understand that, but the resort is not responsible for that. The thumbnail implied that you were disappointed with the resort.
Go in the peak of the season pay full price you will get full turquoise colour of water. Simple
I really miss their videos from the little town of Cabarete.😭😭😭😭😢
🤣
We stayed at the Bahia where you guys are and we’re not impressed at all.Would never go back there again
Omg, I can’t stand the lunge chair saving ting!
Same!
I had never consider this place to be La Romana. For me the area of Bayahibe is real La Romana. The water colors are amazing
Funny thing is... neither locations are in the La Romana province 😜 - Trevor
This looks like one of the better all inclusive hotels that you've stayed at. I wonder if this one will chnage your minds about all inclusives 😉
We so agree! If the beach wasn't brown it easily would have haha. We'll find one we like at some point if sure 🤗 - Anna
If you are looking for a nice all-inclusive we love the Gran Ventana in Puerta Plata
Noted!
Interesting vid... love the travel tips. But, you 2 are a couple? Really?
Hilton La romana is the spot to 👍
@@pedrog8340 good to know 🤗
I am predicting this will be about the water colour before even opening video. I remember seeing that 20 years ago on Trip Advisor when research is resort. Not what you want in a beach getaway.
It's definitely not the beach getaway we thought we would have 😕- Trevor
Oh man such a shame about the water I was there in 2022 and the water was stunning in July
We did see the water around bayibe so we know how incredible it can be - Trevor
November rain didn't mean anything to you😂
Not really a fan of that Guns n’Roses song honestly 😜 - Trevor
Love your videos but that place is a great place is call playa nueva romana and the resort is Bahia principe Boganville I have villa there and is nice and lots of security
👍
hello how are you, nice video.
🤙
In dose all inclusive resorts of Punta Cana and La Romana if you want to get good service need to give a good tip to all workers. At least this is my experience.
We had such great service here at this resort. Everything but the beach was fantastic 🤗 - Anna
Lol so where’s the disaster?
I dont think that's la romana. If you're in Bayahibe is not la romana becuse it belongs to la Altagracia province.
This beach is always like this. It is because of location. There are much better resorts in Laromana.
The pools here are top notch! Just get out early to claim a chair (sadly) - Anna
Porque no está en Español?
Subtitles are available amigo 👍 - Trevor
November is rainy season
yes
Hahahaha.. “we do not smoke cigarettes”.. sooo canadian
🙈
Awe! Its called dominican winter, - nothing to do with canada jejeje
??? Most beaches don’t look like that in ‘winter’ here - Trevor
We went in sept and it was the same, i twas shame.
Such a bummer ... we hope you get to come back to the DR. It's fantastic! 😀 - Trevor
my experience with all inclusive resorts, the cheaper the resort the more drunks you see...especially cuba, lots drunk russians in fleabag resorts!
You must have picked other resort, misleading.... !!! Other beach
i think they are called chair hogs.
😆
That's all the sewer waste washing down.
We’re surprised people were swimming 😬- Anna
Can't wait until you return to the beautiful North Coast. Where you belong!
🥰
No todo es gloria en la cracion de Dios que esta en la tierra😅
Clickbait. I did not see the video, reading the comments describes the video as such. Why? Just to get people to watch another video showing the same content of visiting a lame resort with bland food
Gò to cuba cayo Santa Maria sanctuary grand memories today adult only r
"Disaster?"
worst translation EVER 🤣🤣🤣
Clickbait title.
Travel in the rain season and complain about the weather. 🙄
If karma was a thing, you’d be flooded knee high.
