So stoked you guys have kept it pushing with this channel. Such minimal offroad content that's quality here on TH-cam. Bolt on Jeeps get old fast. Keep it up dudes!

Thanks! Trying our best to stay consistent with the videos, it is hard sometimes because we are actually making the parts, not just bolting things on!

Takes a real man to admit his limits on camera and be humble about it, awesome job Jake, keep at the welding!

Thank you! I am trying to just be honest, hopefully learning from my mistakes will be helpful to someone else that is learning.

@@WingsWorldChannel Not sure if someone else mentioned it but try pushing the weld bead and not pulling (and looking at the leading edge when pushing). You'll be able to see exactly what's going on and where you're going much better.

I like how you are smart but humble. You never talk down in your video. I wanna trick my Baja out too. Stop by the George Compound and check out our projects next time you’re near corona.

congrats to your spunk and knowledge and toil. I knew kids like you when I was young and too busy playing ball to mess with cars but I respect it immensely now.

I really liked the additional time you took to show how you are doing the project (the taping of the part to mark it, the paint line to know how much you turn it, and using a cutting wheel to cut it, etc.) and the explanation as to why you are doing this - for those of us who know very little about fabrication this is super helpful. Personally, I would like to see more of how you are doing stuff and fitting things etc. Great videos by the way. This was one of the most helpful for me. Please show us the details on how to make tie rods!

Awesome job guys! I'm restoring a baja bug on my channel and have just finished up the front end, can't wait to get the engine back in and take it for it's first real drive!

So cool! It's nice to have someone like Christian (your brother?) to teach you like he did. Patient, giving good advice, and letting you do it to learn. Awesome!

Like the work and it is called a torsion bar basically works on the natural rebound of a bar when twisted that’s what makes it so easy to modify

Love the videos! Im sure everybody here can appreciate you humbleness. I had a 69 baja project at one time but had to sell. Anyways this has been one of the best detailed videos of cut and turning the beam for regular guys just starting out off roading with a bug. Thanks!

Your welds aren’t that bad man. It just takes some seat time and becoming comfortable with it. Those plates will definitely strengthen up the beam. I’m excited to be picking up a bug basket case to build a Baja out of.

Jake, don't feel bad about the scratched paint and having to touch up or your first welds. Remember you are starting to learn. Trust me, you will get better at it with time. Also it was really cool to see Christian and your dad guiding you. Keep the good work coming.

  • @setnbronco4932

you have prob done a few of these since this but nxt time you cut one clamp a length of angle onto the beam across the cut, this will keep the beam in line/straight when you weld it back. We used this method when narrowing axle housings before we had a jig

Double ended pipe cutter. The kind with a small cutting wheels like used to cut copper tubing. They are made for large diameter steel tubing as well. Only need to rotate partial turns to completely cut the front end apart. Sorry if this is already mentioned

Noooooo!!! Wrong way brother. You go one notch up and weld in the adjusters and narrow it so you can go down!! My 66 sits low. Get a stinger with out the baffle and advance your timing just a hair. You'll be able to get flames from downshifts and just from a rev. Lol. People behind you at a light love it.😂. And it's loud. But just for a kick. I wouldn't run it that way long. But really bro. You're in Callie. You have to go low.😜 If you don't get stuck or scrap. It's not low enough. No bag's. That's cheating. But good luck with yours and make it yours
