I recently went to Ho Chi Minh and Vung Tau and no one I heard says "giờ" with the "zee" sound. While the Northern sound is considered the standard, I think of the Southern dialect "giờ" with the "y" as being far more relaxed and casual.
Is there one teaching time with the southern accent? I've been trying to find videos teaching time in Vietnamese and I cant find one with the southern dialect and its getting stressful, As much as I figured most of the alphabet by now it is still stressful and I personally want to learn how to communicate with my family without having a flat american toning.

Yes, you’re correct. But the standard way to pronounce “g” is “z”. I’m trying to pronounce following to the standard, in this case, Northern pronunciation of “g” is more precise.

Hi, I speak Southern accent. But I try to pronounce a few words the standard way to be precise. “gi” sound for example is more precise to pronounce like “z” instead of “y” sound in Southern accent. Except a few words, my pronunciation is still Southern.

She is from the south but sometimes she has northern accent like in « mây gio? » for example.
