A New Lion Cub is Introduced into the Pride

- There has been great excitement out on the @shamwariprivategamereserve with the newest addition to the southern pride. Guests have been enjoying fantastic sightings of the new cub and this little lion is stealing everyone’s hearts.
While lion cubs are cute and cuddly and are preoccupied with playing with their siblings and exploring their new surroundings, it is a tough world that they have to grow up in. It’s not all fun and games out in the wild. Growing up in the wild is tough so lion cubs have many lessons to learn before they reach adulthood.

That's a fantastic scene. I hope the cub makes it to adulthood. There was a very rare sighting of the male lion intimately bonding not just with the cub but also grooming the lionesses. This male appears to be very gentle and friendly with his family as compared to most grumpy lions. I wish this part was shown for much longer.

@@ShamwariTV That brings up another question, has the pride male, the father of the cub allowed a fully grown "beaded" (maned 😂) male (now an adult) to hang around and not chase him from the pride ? Or does this pride not have a dominant male and thus the new cub's father is a non-pride male ?
@@symph760 The Father is the Dominant male, the other male is his son, who he brought into & help protect this Pride.

Oh my goodness, how can this beautiful, tiny bundle of joy not steal your heart. This is a very exciting moment and sighting. She seems to be a very good mom who is definitely very alert and attentive to what's going on around her. The male lion being so gentle and loving is so heart touching, may this big brother always help to keep this cubbie safe. Look at that sweet, little face!

There is no such information, no matter what the source is, that is absolute for wildcats! This is the second time I have seen a male lion that the "book" says should have been "kicked" out of the pride but hasn't. I think with this big guy watching over the little cub, he has increased cubbie's survival odds, hope he stays around for awhile and ohhh those beautiful lion bonds ❤🤎❤

I had already seen this video of this young male with his little brother/sister/cousin, very beautiful moment...but I find it strange that he is still with the pride. Doesn't he have a brother his age? I hope the little one will get there, being alone is not what's best for him...

Yes it unusual that he is still with the pride - the social dynamics of big cats such as lions aren’t an exact science - so only time will tell. We hope so too🦁❤️

Beautiful video but usually the lioness has 3 or 4 cubs so the others must have died. But this surviving cub will have to grow up alone without another cub near his age and that will make things more difficult for him.

Is he the only little cub in the pride? I saw a vid where after a little cub got killed there was only 1 left and the pride decided it wasnt worth the trouble a little cub causes and decided to abandon it or whatever.

How did the animals get into the resevers
Shamwari was reworded almost 30years ago - many animals that were extinct in the region due to loss of habitat and hunting were successfully reintroduced and roam freely and wild.
Almost 10% of the video is actually lions.

If the mother lioness dies before introducing her cubs to their pride, the cub will not be accelted right?
Unfortunately that would be the case yes
@@ShamwariTV ohh no. The father can recognize his cubs but the other lioness will not accelt the cub. Ive watch the mapogo lions, the cub was a son of mr. T, but her aunts didnt accept him because his mother died before introducing him
