Welcome to my channel! My name is Jovie from Philippines. In this video, I will show you how I make my letter keychain using two resin color pigment😊

For making double colour we can only use pigment colours for better look r any other like mica powder

Hi Radha thank you for stopping by. You're right, we can also use the mold with hole It's much easier but unfortunately here in my place the only available mould is the one without hole. 🙂

My printer is Epson L3250 and the ink I used is pigment ink. Pigment ink holds its colour, quality and vibrancy better than dye. But dye is also fine but it can fade as time goes by. Hope this help🙂
I’ve made a few to experiment with how do I make sure the sides don’t get bubbles and or sharp on the sides when I sanded them down it didn’t look right if you said it I missed it I kept going back my kids won’t let me focus 😅
Hi, absolutely beautiful just love how you did them. ❤️ I've just started making keychains but im having issues with the pin screw. Its breaking off inside the letter and its driving me nuts. Any tips to stop this happening please. I use a drill same as you x
Hi Karen, I hope you are having a good day.🙂 Here are my tips: You can demould your piece while it still soft and then make a hole. ( It's easier to insert the eye pin if the resin is still soft). Use a drill bit the same size as your eye pin. (if the bit is smaller than the eye pin it will break easily). If none of these work for you, you need to replace your eye pin with a good quality one. Hi Sheila, Thank you for watching. The font is Lucid set in size 16. I use Photoshop but this can be done also in MS Word.

Nice work. Can you tell me the measurements of resin and the hardner?
Hi, thanks for stopping by. I used a 2:1 Resin ratio, the total amount of resin i used is 18g. 12g of resin and 6g of hardener.
Tip: to get the amount of resin you need to use, fill your mold first with water. It's not the exact amount you get but it's the closest.

How to avoid bubbles around stickers edges...

What's your method of preventing airbubbles? I can't ever get them out even with a heat gun
Hi thank you for stopping by. I always warm my resin before I use it to lessen the bubbles. Another is I change my resin from high viscosity to low viscosity because a low viscosity epoxy has a better flow, better bubbles release, stronger bonding easier to mix and work with. While a high viscosity epoxy will not release bubbles so easily causing you to use a torch or heat gun to get rid of those. I hope this will help 🙂

Doesn’t your left over resin harden overnight when you put the clear coat over it. Or do you mix up a new batch of resin? Hope that makes sense.

Hi Cheska. I use gold metallic pen for gold writing.
I've tried to make letter resin twice and the first one came out semi solid but bendy when pressure is applied. I used the 1 to 1 ratio by volume as instructed. Any tips on what I could possibly be doing wrong?
Hi thank you for stopping by. There are a few possible reasons for this. The resin needs more time to cure. Curing time depends on different brands of epoxy. Try to check your resin curing time, maybe it needs more time to be fully cure. Inaccurate Measuring another reason why resin is bendy so make sure you measure your resin correctly. Inadequate Mixing, mix your resin and hardener thoroughly for at least 5min scraping the sides and the bottom of the container. And make sure you store your resin properly after using it to avoid any problems for your next projects. I hope this can help 🙂

Hi Athi, thank you for stopping by. You can fill your mold with water, then measure it. Then you know how much you need to use for your mold. You could also use dried rice if you don't want to use water.🙂

The size of the names will depend on the font you are using. I'm using lucid calligraphy font the size is 15. You can try printing your names first in an ordinary paper then try to fit it your letter mold. Hoping this help

Hi there, use a drill bit that is the same size of your eyepins, also if you tighten the screw tip in too far it will stress the resin and cause a crack on your piece later on. Make sure the hole you drill is as deep as the length of the eyepin screw. I hope this will help and I apologize for the late response 🙂

Hi Lesley. Yes, you can still do it after you demold your letter flip it add your names and dome by adding clear resin on top. Hope this help🙂

Hi Besylia, thank you for stopping by. Your silicone mold is at the end of its useful life. Unfortunately resin molds don’t last forever. They will dry out, get brittle and tear with use, this is usually the reason why your resin is sticking to the mold.
