Bruh, Marcell had the most points even without the gimmick of finalist mode. James and Daire had a shot at winning only because ESL orchestrated a close championship in the ruleset.

I'm sorry, the 'Ring incident was none of your fault and it's going to take a fucking lot of effort to convince me to the contrary. This was not an oopsie doopsie racing incident. It looked extremely deliberate. I admire your maturity in the control room, they'd have to measure my blood pressure in Richter scale if I were you.
You're really, really good at this and I genuinely believe your first major success in a tournament of this scale is just around the corner. You got this.
yeah i'm sorry, teammate made absolutely no effort to get out of his way, if it was on a straight i understand but through a chicane? Not buying it, and that's me being impartial I think
are you shitting me? james tried to defend from the teammate and turned himself the audi. If you look with your eyes and not with what you want the truth to be, you can see that the audi was alongside, left james a car width, which is what is required by the rules, and james misjudged the situation, tried to defend and turned himself on the audi. Also replying to @punchawaterfall6302, the teammate had no obligation to get out of the way on a straight, and even if he did, he wouldnt have enough time to react to james' extremely late defensive move.
I'm not an emotional guy but I would have had tears in my eyes for sure. This sport can be cruel, but when it does go your way, it makes up for all the bad times. Heads up you'll get them again.
Your a great driver James. That incident at the chicane was a mess and at least one of that team should’ve been penalised, its how you react in that kind of situation and to be honest you handled it extremely well “let’s keep racing”. Reminded me of a certain Lewis Hamilton after Abu Dhabi. Go and get them in the next one mate 👌🏻
Crazy how events can get such a massive cash prize pool and not even have everything sorted and botch judgments so badly.

I think you showed a great potential and that you are a fighter. It must be heartbreaking but to be honest you did a great job. I believe you will do better at the next event. Admittedly we as teams, organizers & individually realize what a great opportunity this is for those select few who get chosen, however Sim Racing as a whole is suffering due to the average to above average players that never see these opportunities. We truly believe in the “little guy” & would like to see a more accessible route for everyone & help support it.

I just can't bring myself to watch 15-minute sprint races with GT3 cars around the same 4 tracks over and over and over again. Sim racing should be so much more than that.

Why’s it such a massive prize pool for an eSport that doesn’t get that many views?
Win a few of those tournaments and you can sponsor your own racing career.
Instead of some cleaning solvent logo you can have your own face and name all around the car. 😄

One thing, if you do end up winning the prize pool, will you put it directly into irl racing or will you invest in a business or something else, so that you can fund your racing career?
Thanks man. One thing a lot of people don't take into account is that the teams take cuts of the prize money from the drivers, so we don't get all of it! Of course I'll be looking to fund my racing career as much as I can.
I was thinking the same thing. These events are huge for you since if you can win at least one championship, that could get you A LOT closer to getting a race seat.

Awesome Job man! Since i like stewarding i need to put my opinion about the incident here :)
From the limited angels it looks like you got a tiny bit sideways out of the chicane and the car behind then drives into you. Not sure i would judge it as a racing incident tho. The car behind can see that you are slow out of the chicane and still gives you barely enough room. So i would probably have judged it as a fault of the driver behind. But only a slap on the wrist since he left some room. Turned out not enough but its a high pressure situation and split second decision making.
And just as expected when i saw the format drama came. Makes it more exiting but i still feel someone is always going to get shafted since there is a big factor of luck. I would prefer a simple points standing and not the finalist mode. But that would probably not produce enough drama for ESL and the more mainstream race fan.

i agree with most of what you wrote, but the factor of circumstance needs to be applied in future events, or else this team racing thing is going to be a shitshow. in my honest opinion the r8g guy knew exactely what he was doing and in a split second decision in another situation you would always lift to avoid a penalty and save yourself a penalty postrace. all in all its (again) a bad look for sim racing as an esport, and after the williams iracing debacle we're continuing now in rennsport. its a shame.
It is really hard to prove he did it on purpose. But exactly this incident is what some other sim races and i were afraid of when the format was announced. I totally agree with you that its a bad look, but the organisers want drama and not fair competition. Nice to see that atleast most of the teams are fair. But if this goes on a little bit longer with no change i cant imagine what kind of incidents could happen if the drivers arent valuing fair racing.

Dude, I was so incensed over this. I vented my spleen on Twitter because I 100% believe you were deliberately taken out, but this was ignored by the stewards for a reason as yet unknown (maybe favouritism). I, and many like me, regard yourself as the actual 'First Ever Rennsport Champion'. You drove like a champion in an unfamiliar car on an unfamiliar racing sim. You have nothing left to prove for someone looking a proven race driver.
To be honest I don't understand how they can say it was a race incident. You can clearly see that you are on the racing line and the audi swerves into you in the chicane and pushed you. The stewards can see the replay 100 times. For me it's just wasn't great for them to end the championship like this. This is why I don't watch F1 anymore, just a bunch of burocracy. By the way, congrats on all the other races, top driving.

Let's call it what it is....cheating! Forcing past you off track, outside of track limits, to then get pit manoeuvred by the team mate is extremely dirty! Also can't see how it was ruled ok by officials...brings in to question their integrity as well! Poor show ESL👎

I love doing some sim racing over winter when it's too cold to go out on my motorbike but I ain't watching someone else do it. Watching sim racing is like watching someone watch porn.
