The ball roll swing change is huge, from positional thinking to dynamic action and the body responding. Light bulb moment for the student, well done Marcus.
Hi, I think some of Your videos and specially this one is one of the best videos ever explaining the golfswing. Im a scratchgolfer but have always struggling with the lowpoint. One video of 20 min + 1 hour in the range were all I needed. 10 years of focus to get the hands in front without loosing speed solved in one lesson GREAT coaching!!!
That was amazing. This guy has gone from being unable to walk and chew gum at the same time, to striping it like a single handicapper. Marcus has the most incredible communication skills and adapts his coaching to suit the individual, unlike the common, one size fits all approach , adopted by too many golf instructors.
Haha very kind words, both Nigel and Liam had a adept skillset when they walked through the door, we just helped to provide and environment to showcase their skills a little more elaborately 😝
@@GRFGolf Marcus my Qs is that when you have gone down in the backswing and land on your left with left tilt you were suggesting the player to stand up. Wouldnt that cause extension?
I’ve watched every single one of these videos(honestly) and this is one of my favourites... I think it’s because of the realisation of his ‘killer’ move and the joy he gets from finding the push! It reminds me so much of my lesson with Sam(I had a terrible hip slide😆) I’m going to have another watch of my video and tomorrow the board is coming out the bag... about time I had a refresher at the range! 👍🏼😄
Outstanding sir! I just came across this today. A lightbulb moment for me on what loading the lead side really looks like and what to do once it is loaded. I look forward to putting this into practice. Hitting into the net at home following this has relieved my mind of so many swing thoughts.
That was brilliant to watch. As a fellow early release swayer, it has taken a lot of hard work to get rid of that feeling. Had my lesson with Sam in December, and it's all coming together nicely. Great work, guys 👍
Great video. Love to see the reactions. The sound of him hitting it thin at the start to compressing the snot out of it at the end is ridiculous. Thanks for the video. 👍
Superb explanation!!! I've been at the range practicing my weightshift with my body to give me a better ball strike. I'm still a little inconsistent but improving. I think it's finally just clicked that the key move is to drop the left shoulder to allow extention as you pop. I cant wait to try this as I think this is key to bottoming out after the ball!!! Well explained again 👏 👍 👌
Such a breath of fresh air a different way of showing a pupil on how to swing a club rather than positions 123 and so on, great videos keep them coming. 👍🏌
This is the bye far the best explanation of the golf swing I have ever heard. One day I will manage to get over to England and have a day with you guys, cheers 👍
The bent alignment stick showing the way the club is coming g through the ball to low point is light bulb moment on something i thought i already understood ! How the plane effects path almost as much as anything is mimd blowing to me… seriously i struggle getting steep with woods (driver horribly at times) but ive been reluctant for ever to completely learn a new swimg/ plane as it has messed up my iron shots in the past when i started doing so….now it seems i have no choice but to flatten if i ever plan on getting any consistency with the big stick(s) …i typically just struggle trying to change release to make up for being steep .. to some , or very little success 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
…and the dip motion i was told to stop doing awhile back to get more consistent ….and i didnt find consistency yet forgot about my old dip move along the way …great lesson imo
I like seeing a lesson where this didn't come so easy to someone. I feel like most of the videos are of instant results. Good to see a little struggle every once in a while lol.
What a transformation! Great stuff! Do you worry about where the arms go in the backswing? Like right elbow getting too "deep" or arms too far behind them? Or as long as the result is okay then don't overthink it :) Speaking of overthinking it what is acceptable range of the in-to-out Club Path angle (not face) on something like Trackman? Love watching these lessons. Cheers!
As a right handed golfer, is it ok to move slightly right during the backswing? Or sway as it’s called. Normally the sway is considered a bad thing. But I find adding pressure onto the left leg way easier by ‘swaying’ to the right leg and then moving forward into the left. It adds flow I feel.
at 12 min mark is exactly what I do. Cannot get my weight onto left side while keeping left shoulder low. Mike Jacobs asked me when is the left shoulder lowest in the swing-i said at the top of backswing. He said no-it's at onset of downswing-this makes it very visible. My issue is the rear tilting of the spine from the 'death move". How do you get the lower body to get out of the way while left shoulder stays low at start of downswing!. Wish I could fly to you tomorrow!!!
I feel your pain, brother. I have all the same issues you have. Funny thing is that I didn’t use to…I got worse, way worse. Harder I tried, the worse it got. This video seems to be an eye opener tho. I got here through one of your comments on another video , so thanks for that (especially if it helps. I can’t keep my left shoulder down to save my life at the moment lol. I’d jump on that plane to see these guys and get sorted out in a heartbeat if I could!
Hmm...this action is looking more and more stacked. Like the concept of extension through standing up on left leg. Don't agree that if you stand up 'too early' you run out of extension. Well, yes, sure if you do it the wrong way. But if you fire upwards through vertical left forces while throwing club downwards and THEN once you've reached the end of left leg extension, you continue through chest pivot up into finish.
You can make anything work to a degree - but extending too early throws out the low point and you're likely to struggle optimising that transfer of kinetic energy through to the golf club. If you try and extend really soon when throwing a ball this demonstrates it quite well 👍 appreciate the input!
What I would give to be able to get a lesson from Marcus, but I live in Hawaii and he’s half way around the world , so these videos are huge for those of us that can’t get a personal lesson. Thank you Marcus 😊
People have “lessons after lessons” over years and years and spend a lot more than £400 yet they never get any better long term. This was worth every penny. You are not paying just for the lesson, you are paying for the knowledge that Marcus has gained over years of studying and also the qualifications he has gained.
@@DogsHealthShop so you’re saying this lesson is all you need? Man I need to find the equivalent guitar teacher . Slow down the guys swing and you see he’s still has a lot do work on , let’s hope he doesn’t need many more lessons eh? 😂 btw I buy into the guys swing philosophy, other guys like Dr kwon and milo lines have been doing this stuff for years .
@@TopblokeGolf I was the other guy in the video and yes this is the only lesson I will have due to the “natural” way you hit the ball. Liam plays off 5 and I would expect this to fall over the coming months. I am a little long in the tooth to get to that level and also have significant back problems but the natural movements Marcus showed me may well allow me to continue playing for many years to come. Oh and it was £600 for both of us and worth every penny…. The lesson was 4 hours long so majority is not shown in these videos. I have never seen anyone who has had a zen lesson give negative feedback 😊
It's hard to fathom why you don't have at least 100k subscribers. This content is gold.
Haha maybe one day 😂 for now we're grateful for anyone who spends the time watching and we hope it helps! Cheers, James!
Couldn’t agree more. This entire channel and all of the Zen instructors are fantastic. It’s the best instruction on TH-cam, bar none. Cheers

Every single good player does, but they do it early, some before the club has even moved away from the ball.
