First off I graduated in the 90s too and I laughing about the gadzooks!! Lolol.. I was totally grunge flannels, brown lips! 😅... that dress maybe if you sized down it would hug you more.. but that sweater omg it caught my eye!!! I loooooove it!!!
Hahaha!! Yeeeeesss the moody 90's. What a time to be alive! Gadzooks was my favorite place to shop for clothes, but they were expensive. I remember behind the counter there was a belt made with seatbelt buckets that I thought was the most amazing thing I'd ever seen! LOLOL!
I think the dress looks nice on you. You should check out a dress that Cato’s has. It is a faux suede in the most beautiful fall brown. Super comfortable and kind on my figure . I love mine. Thank you for your great videos
I have worked in the plus size clothing world for 15+ years. How the heck I missed Maurices, Im not sure how that happened! I bought everything you and then some. Have to agree about the dress. I returned it and got a different one. Havent pulled the trigger on the jeans yet. The prices remind of LB. Not that I dont love them. BTW, love u and ur channel. ❤

I loved the COLOR of the dress, but the twist just makes it look like it was badly constructed. I think with a big chunky black belt you'll be golden! It really highlights your hair and makeup.😊

I think the dress looks nice, just need some chunky jewelry. I used to always shop Maurice. Loved their crinkle cami’s. Now my go to is Torrid, Macys, and most recently Walmart. Ten years ago I would never buy anything fashion related at Walmart.
I totally agree! I went to Walmart today and had the most random conversation with a lady. We talked for a good 30 minutes about Walmart clothes and how they've changed throughout the years. It's hard to get those old opinions about Walmart clothes to go away...especially when we all experienced the 90's Walmart clothing options. 🤢 Hard times!

I disagree with some of the other commenters... I think you should keep the dress. I think it looks really good on you. All the pieces in your haul look really good on you. My least favorite piece is the shacket but it looks good on you. It's just not something I personally would purchase. I can't wait to see what else you find for fall.

I love maurices but i do have to hunt through their website to find a few pieces i would wear. I get a lot of my work wear blouses from them and love their 24/7 tanks for summer. Some of their patterns are too granny for me lol. Other than them most of my wardrobe comes from Old Navy, jeans from American Eagle and thrifting.
Really want the first outfit but my closet may bonk me on the noggin if I bring home 1 more plaid button down 😂. Also being petite but chunky mid rise jeans fit me so good in waist so if I can find some that aren’t too trendy and more classic cut I’m gonna jump on those.🪞🏄♀️
In the main "talking and try on" portion, I'm not wearing anything on my nails. The fabric portion of the video I'm wearing 1 solitary press on nail on my thumb. LOL! I have psoriasis under my thumbs, so don't like to show it on camera. It's kinda creepy.

I think the problem with the dress is that it really has no structure. It's not giving you any shape. The fabric looks too thin to hold it's shape and I imagine would stretch out quickly. I hope this makes sense. The color is very lovely on you.
The sleeves on the brown dress are poorly draped. If they were cut correctly, and maybe a size smaller, sure. But those sleeves make it look cheap, like a mistake. It’s hard to make a garment look bad on you, girlie! 😉
I agree Amber, this one was a strange cut/design for sure. I've been a fan of Maurices for a long time, but like others have mentioned in the comments, lately they're lacking. Maybe they're in a transitional phase.....🙏
Maurices has some cute stuff on the website but it just doesn't translate to how it looks on my body. First, their website offers no lengths on any item, and with a long torso that is a requirement. Their dresses tend to be of cheap fabrics. And the swim tops they sell for plus sizes offer no support. My last two orders, which were sizeable, were returned in their entirety. It doesn't seem worth my energy any longer.
Awe that's so sad to hear! The flannel, the Nashville tee, and the sweater were overall standouts for me. I agree with your sentiment though, I was really surprised and underwhelmed with the fabric choices for the shacket and the dress. 40% of my order. The pants and jeans.....giiiiirrrrll. I can NOT! We used to have a Maurice's store close by, but it closed down about 4 years ago. The closest one (so I thought) is about 50 miles away. I traveled there about 2 weeks ago and that store is also now closed. It's sad that retail is taking a nosedive like it is and I think that's the reason the clothes are suffering.

I usually love Maurices, but the last couple of years, everything looks about the same. I really love their regular jeans and tshirts and tanks, but other than that, I haven't seen anything special
