  • In this video, I demonstrate how to use a Gordak 853 preheater to replace bid chips like CPU or processor, chipset, Embedded control, etc. on the laptop motherboard.
Replacing BGA chips on a laptop motherboard is a great skill however there are still easier ways with the right tools, and a preheater is definitely one of them.
The motherboard in this video is of an Asus laptop that I fixed recently unfortunately the customer short its chipset with a Toshiba charger which made it quite difficult to repair.

Thanks Bro. You made my day. I just need a simple small unit to remove NEC Tokins from old PS3 board. This unit is cheapest reliable one and your video helped me choose it. Best wishes from South Africa.

I was really need a review.
    Thanks man.
    But a tip at 4:00
It's temperature goes up slowly to don't shock the motherboard with sudden heat.
You should put motherboard on it when it was cool yet and then turn it on.🌹
And you can use 2 temp probesusing aluminum tape near chipset using 2 multimeters. One for front and one for back.
And on 11:00 you don't wick the solder of pads on board. It can cause short after reflowing new chip

You should use flux liquid which it can get through all cpu balls. Thanks for the video anyway. Is the motherboard still work?

@@platinumphonesandcomputers Thank you for the info. The unit on Amazon looks different with temperature up to 400C, while the unit on Aliexpress looks the same as yours with temperature up to 500C. I need 110V. Is your unit also 110V?

@@j.d.3269 Mine is 230V but that's because in my country we use 240V, on Aliexpress they should have a version for 110V

Yaa I have found 300 & 350 temperature to be fine with big motherboards, small motherboards 200 - 250 preheater temperature works fine. Otherwise thanks for your feedback
