Taking pictures of the items your trying to match with your phone can make it easier while out shopping. It has always been useful for me. Sometimes my memory is not as exact and end up buying the wrong matching shape or color of some items if I don't have a picture. Watching the two of shopping and finding a bargain and you both light up with excitement.😀
Its good to get out and just breathe, im with you Ash i like the little one .. the blue one looks like Dr.Who phone box 😂😂.. yes keep collecting the shades ... now take a picture of the ones your searching for
Yes. U have to have a good creative mind for some items!@ terry u sure do, as does Ash. That huge iron OLD chandelier is a real project. I cant wait to see ur creative reno ancient chandelier!!!💞
I agree. Plus the true test of a relationship is when you go through hardships & struggles, and exhaustion. All the work you are doing is bringing your family closer together, not tearing you apart. Which is a testament to how close and loving your family is. Bless. 🫶
Hi everyone,Oh my goodness Terry, the brass chandelier is stunningly, beautiful 🤩 an opaque, glass bottom, would look amazing, in my opinion😊 if affordable,I’d be having one made,if you can’t find one ! And the tray table , is another great find ! Just love the eclectic mix, of stunning styles, all perfect for the chateau 🤩 Take care lots of love 🥰💕
I believe the piece with the fabric pouch is a French knitting stand. Always interesting to see your shopping expeditions. Can't remember the difference between a campaign table and a butler's tray table, but you've got one of them, LOL. Sometimes the straps were supple leather. Thanks for another interesting vlog!
Yes! The whole family has gifts. The château is going to be amazing! Tracy and Tony did such a beautiful job in her space. Terry and Ash are a class act. ❤️🇨🇦
I can tell Terry is in his happy place when hunting for treasures. The smile is priceless when you see something you really want. I love that chandelier, it's going to be amazing when cleaned up and hung. I could shop for hours in places like that and I have. We have an awesome outdoor market with hundreds of vendors selling so many antiques that it can be overwhelming but I always came home with some great finds. It's fun to see what others purchase.
I use my cellphone to take pictures of the items I need more of so I can compare them to what I have found in my shopping trips!!!! I am so excited that you bought the framed art! When art makes you feel and its a good feeling then buy it don't over think it!!!!
Who doesn’t love to go shopping?! That chandelier is incredible! Once polished, the brass is going to be stunning, smart buy Terry. I can’t wait to see how it is transformed. 👏👏All the best to you xxxalex
Love the tray and stand. I think you are right pleated fabric for the base of the chandelier would be perfect with a small gilt finial in the centre. I am sure I spotted one in one of the boxes Terry was looking through.
You two seem to really enjoy doing things together. Your smiles and laughter together is wonderful. You found some great treasures. Can’t wait to see them cleaned up and put in place. xx
I was so relieved when Terry announced that he'd purchased the chandelier. It is really beautiful. It will be perfect in that suite. Cloth or glass, I know whatever Terry chooses to use will be stunning. Ash, I love a good sausage sandwich when I'm out shopping too. IKEA figured out the connection between shopping and eating and made Ingvar very rich. When is that window coming? Is that the only one for now? I'm so impatient to see the finished suite. You all have put so much effort into making it perfect in every detail. I like the new chairs too. They obviously need work, but probably not as much as the picture frame.
You are my kinda antique shopper Terry, no stone(shade) unturned...that chandelier looks like there is a lampshade frame on the inside of the base, which would've been wrapped with cotton tape then the fabric was sewn to it, Victorians loved their colors cuz it showed off their electric lamps, many were hot pink fabrics according to many I have restored...have fun with that one...I too am a sucker for tables, chairs n lamps...geez...!
Glad you had a day out. Absolutely love the chandalier. Instead of fabric or glass you might consider frosted acrylic. It bends relatively easy, and no one will know it isn't glass unless you tell them. ;-)
That's the best places to go where everything is piled up. Most people want take the time to dig around to see what's there. I think you got some great pieces for the chateau.
Ooh I've had my fix today of brocante shopping. There were some good pieces. Those fires Ash were so pretty bet they look a picture when cleaned shame you didn't need them. Hope we see the shades in place. Till the next video. Xx😅
I always take pictures on my phone when I shop. I am not good at remembering the details when I need a set of anything. That chandelier will be so beautiful once you put your magic on it!
Hi Terry, do not go with cloth on the lamp because the heat from the bulbs will eventually burn or dry out the cloth!!!.. which will deteriorate! I would personally choose glass😊...thanks....Connie
🙋hi from Scotland,hi guys thank you for taking us along on your day out shopping i could spend days n there looking about you bought amazing things i just love the chandelier it will look amazing when you have restored it to all its glory i hope tracy is well and also wee Johnathan cheers 🍷 till next time take care
Love treasure hunting in antique shops I love antiques I would love to shop with Terry He finds cool items The chandelier is beautiful and will look amazing in any room God bless Sending West Central Texas love 💜
Enjoyed shopping with you both 😊 the picture is beautiful. Well worth repairing, it will look stunning. I knew you would come home with the chandelier, Terry 😅 brilliant xx
Love your smiles while doing your treasure shopping 🛍😍❤ For all the goodies you find... It's not often that I find others who are like me in seeing the potential in these treasures With just a bit of spit an a good polishing 👌 how brilliant everything will shine right up again" really Wonderful video I enjoyed it Tku for taking us along 🥰 Give my best to the family please 🙏🏼 Stay safe and well 💐💕
Terry not the only one that loves Brocante I love just looking at what u looking at ❤ one day I am coming to France. ❤oh the brass Chandelier is lovely and it's very different to the norm I say very old but gorgeous detail ❤
Love everything you bought! I was so happy to see you bought the canisters for your kitchen, they were charming. What great finds. I also really loved the tulip shades, thought they were beautiful and different. How much fun it would be to wonder around those places, I saw so many things I'd like to have. Lucky for you that you have the space!
Your channel is the best on You Tube. What a delightful family you are. The team work is second to none. I’ve always watched you from the start on a smart tv, so haven’t been able to make a comment until now. Your episodes always make me smile and are a decent length. You’re all down to earth and we love you to bits. This episode is making me want to fly to France and go to the brocantes (sp?). We have op shops in NZ, but not like those in France. We wish you all the best. Arohanui
Hi Terry & Ash! The item They held in his hand at 4:42 was gorgeous. Not necessarily right for your place, but would be a lovely stand for a potted plant such as an English Ivy, a trailing pothos, or any draping/trailing plant. Perhaps set in front of or next to an east-facing window.
Hallo from Belgium! That thing is a knitting basket. It's to put next to a seat where you do your knitting and you can put the wool and needles in. Nowadays it is often used as a planter as you suggested.
Terry, Always buy all the sets of matching shades, you may just need them down the road. The stand would have been used as a luggage stand in a hotel, the tray is a lovely addon. I am sure you will find multiple uses for it. And the stand definitely goes in Room 400. Mark & Scott
I was also drawn to those blue and white kitchen canisters the moment they appeared on the screen. Thanks for some fun shopping trips you chaps! Glad you got a bit of a break from the hard graft you were doing in the walled garden.
I love the new music you have playing, even while you all were digging and raking the garden area; it's not jarring or disturbing. I want to go shopping with you both!! Oh, you need a soup tureen...
Love how you find little bit's and bat's for the chateau thing's you have already and find thing's to match them is brilliant and you go back and come back with something else that you had not seen before hand.I am sure Terry you will turn the chandelier into something beautiful 😊see you all next time take care 💕🌼🤗
Re the chandelier,if you choose fabric get something sheer with stretch in it ,bring to inside of rim and get glass that sits on top in the track ,holding fabric down.Or no fabric and maybe etched glass in the round part.Maybe get your names etched or property name etched into it Just a thought Good luck with the endeavour 😊
Beautiful chandelier..I enjoyed the brocante, Full of very old treasures. Very nice items you have chosen. So fun to shop along with you both. Blessings.
The glass in the bottom of the chandelier would be easy. You can cut it yourself with a glass cutter and special glass pliers. I think those lamps also had round glass on the side edge which would be hard, but a glass place can mold it for you.
Absolutely love the brocant !! My I would be broak if I was there Love chandeliers and the one you have bought is exquisite you have wonderful taste Kind regards Nicholas 😂
You should take pictures of what you need (shades) and then you can know for sure when you are shopping. Like you I could spend days and days in places like you visited.
Had a friend that made a decorative tree of all different lampshades. Always wished I had taken a picture of it, sort of like a tree made from upended bottles idea.
I would love shopping with Terry!😂😂😂😂
Haha. He loves his shopping Cheryl! I go along for the amazing food at the vide greniers 😂😂
Me too! He gets right in there, digging through boxes for ‘hidden treasures’
Me too!!!
Don’t forget to take time to unwind..your all working so hard
Glad you got the Kitchen blue-trimmed canisters

Glass (coloured) would be my choice for the chandelier. Good Brocante shopping. Love It!
Thanks guys for letting me tag along with you on your "treasure" hunts !
Yes. U have to have a good creative mind for some items!@ terry u sure do, as does Ash. That huge iron OLD chandelier is a real project. I cant wait to see ur creative reno ancient chandelier!!!💞
You have a real eye for beauty Terry.
You guys are so adorable. Your whole family's genuine happiness is infectious.
I agree. Plus the true test of a relationship is when you go through hardships & struggles, and exhaustion. All the work you are doing is bringing your family closer together, not tearing you apart. Which is a testament to how close and loving your family is. Bless. 🫶
What an amazing brocante! It’s a mess but still full of beautiful items.
Hi everyone,Oh my goodness Terry, the brass chandelier is stunningly, beautiful 🤩 an opaque, glass bottom, would look amazing, in my opinion😊 if affordable,I’d be having one made,if you can’t find one !

I always love to see the two of you smiling and joking around in the Brocantes. I hope you continue to take us along for the ride. 🍁🍁🍁
Terry just loves Antiques and its a very healthy thing to love good on him . Ash has to bring in the rains when they go out 😂
I love shopping days. keep taking us with you.
One of my favorite things to do. The search and discovery of surprise treasures is the best.
Terry, you have such good taste! You seem to get all the good finds. The lampshades you picked out were stunning! 👍
Who doesn’t love to go shopping?! That chandelier is incredible! Once polished, the brass is going to be stunning, smart buy Terry. I can’t wait to see how it is transformed. 👏👏All the best to you xxxalex
Thank you Alexandra P
Could you do stained glass instead of fabric? or would that be too difficult or tacky? It will be lovely not matter what you do.
I would spend hours looking in there😮
I love vicariously shopping and with you in the French antique stores. ❤
Awwwww Terrys excited face when he found shade #5… so cute ☺️
Love the tray and stand. I think you are right pleated fabric for the base of the chandelier would be perfect with a small gilt finial in the centre. I am sure I spotted one in one of the boxes Terry was looking through.

I’m sure you’ll make it work Terry!
Very unusual chandelier can’t wait to see it finished
Thanks Gloria 😊
What a wonderful shopping day lots of beautiful finds. I seen a few things I like 🤭.
The bottom of the chandelier would be stunning in mica or alabaster!
Or stained glass in a mica shade.
I love that chandelier. I think fabric will look lovely on it.
I was so relieved when Terry announced that he'd purchased the chandelier. It is really beautiful. It will be perfect in that suite.

Good shopping trip, Terry, well done ❤
"Where for, Terrence?" "Well, we have a chateau..." 🤣
You all lost me at the lamp shade higher math part. 🤔
😂😂xx
You are my kinda antique shopper Terry, no stone(shade) unturned...that chandelier looks like there is a lampshade frame on the inside of the base, which would've been wrapped with cotton tape then the fabric was sewn to it, Victorians loved their colors cuz it showed off their electric lamps, many were hot pink fabrics according to many I have restored...have fun with that one...I too am a sucker for tables, chairs n lamps...geez...!
I love the chandelier!!!
your brocantes are like walking through the wardrobe to Narnia!
My idea of a perfect shopping day, scrambling over furniture to find a treasure
💕Take photos of shade’s & everything else you need another of then you will always have them with you on your mobile💕
I do love a good Brocante thrift haul. Thanks for taking me along .
I enjoy seeing the brocante's . Love that sort of treasure hunt . When you find something , it's so much fun to bring it home to give it new life ..
Love the table and tray. “Restore A Finish”is what antique shops use here. That stuff is amazing. Love the chandelier..
Nice chandelier!
Love the light you bought. It is gorgeous!
How can anyone say no to Terrys face 🤷🏻♀️ 🫢🐨🥰
😂😂

Happy Wednesday all, looking forward to watching todays video, you always make my day and thousands of others 💕🐥💕🐥💕
Thanks Alexandra :)
Thank you Alexandra P
The chandelier or candle bases are called bobeche. They are beautiful additions to a candle holder, even better with the dangling Chrystal’s.
I was also drawn to those blue and white kitchen canisters the moment they appeared on the screen. Thanks for some fun shopping trips you chaps! Glad you got a bit of a break from the hard graft you were doing in the walled garden.
Thanks Marliss. Was nice to get out and about 😊😊
Brilliant stand and tray for the 400 renovations!
I would be tempted to buy quite a few things!
Haha. Terry always is 😊😊
Terry in his element! 🥰
greetings from belgium love u all xxxjes
Hello and thank you very much 🥰
I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the chandelier. It is certainly an interesting find.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen one like that. Look forward to see it cleaned up and put together 💡 Cute items for your kitchen 😊
Loved watching you both interact ❤❤

When you both go out together you are so funny 😂😂😂thanks for the outing 🤗👍👍🤗
Love Sue ❤❤❤🇬🇧❤❤❤
@15:33 the stitched chair against the wall! Get it! Get it! Beautiful!
I Love restoration videos. But the mystery of trying to figure out what the ancient buildings on the property where used for is just fascinating.

Thanks Holly 😊
Absolutely love the brocant !! My I would be broak if I was there

Kind regards Nicholas 😂
You should take pictures of what you need (shades) and then you can know for sure when you are shopping. Like you I could spend days and days in places like you visited.
Take photos on phone for future needs
The picture is unique as well frame lovely

You guys are an adorable couple
Great treasures found Terry ❤❤❤
You really don’t need glitzy everywhere….less is more. ❤❤
In America we these places FLEA SHOPS. What a person gets rid of is another's jewels! Love what you guys are doing!
It's a butler's tray Terry. Still useful when repaired. If the tray had been damaged, the stand is useful for people to stand their suitcases.....
Thanks Steven :) 😊
