Hey everyone! Haven't looked at this video in years. I'm the person who made it. I had no idea it has been viewed millions of times. No idea how that happened. Glad you all seem to like the work. I did this work for over 20 years and still do some though I'm mostly retired now. All the work was done in 3D Studio in the usual way . No special software, just a lot of careful work and attention to every detail.
These are animations I made for clients. They are real accidents that happened to real people. I don't remember for sure but there would have been a serious injury or death involved.
@@motodiaries8204in the Motorsports one were those the exact car models bc I follow Motorsports and don’t remember any type of crash with those endurance cars at daytona
Yeah. My father has been in accident reconstruction for 17 years now and owns a driving school. The stories we hear are pretty astonishing as to how easily a life can be lost by a person not using their proper safety equipment or doing the wrong with in response to an event.
I think one of the main reasons people enjoyed GTA 4, was because the crashes have that much more realism, even though they are pre-rendered, they were a hell lot better than any other GTA's.
I've been watching these animations for the past hour now and don't get me wrong their pretty dam awesome, I inda wonder the backstory on these. But it kinda brings you to a cold sad reality when you figure most of these people didn't survive these accidents.
very impressive work! Can I ask how the deformations and crunches are done, is that reactor cloth or do you have it rigged for more control? They look spot on. Also is it normal for victims to be propelled out the side windows? Seems to happen several times in your demo
There is no way they're Oldsmobiles. Oldsmobile only made the Silhouette. zombdrive.com/images/1990-oldsmobile-silhouette-2.jpg car-pictures.cars.com/images/?IMG=USB40OLV011B0112.jpg&HEIGHT=600
this is a animation, not real time rendered random with scripts so is not more realistic because its a animation........... is not two car free walking in the room with X speed, and the accident happening with scripts that check impacts, is a PRE-MADE Animation, so is not more realistic than beamng, you can't compare pre-render with real time because are different, is like sayng that the cutcenes in ps1/ps2 are more realisitc than a ps3 game even because cutcene is a video FILE some games in ps2 have action movie/filmed with real people, and other are animations with high quality like final fantasy, but is just a VIDEO file you can't compare that things are completly differente even if is in a computer.... sorry if i appear rude i don't have a good english
Niclas Ahl That would be even nicer. I wish, however, BeamNG cars were generally softer. The roof structures of BeamNG cars, especially, are unrealistically strong.
BeamNG Drive is as close as you can get, and it's _very_ close. On the other hand, if you don't have a decent PC, you could get Wreckfest, which is one of the only racing games with soft-body damage
Wow, some of these a pretty bad. I'm amazed at how few people seem to wear seat belts in these things. In alot of them the people probably would have survived if they had warn their safety belts. The older cars also smash much worse then a lot of the newer ones, at least 4 star safety ratings should be mandatory in order to even sell a car. That should include rollover tests. The guy who made these did a really good job!
... I'm usually not into what i call those "video games" type of things, but yours are great... We can actually tell the makes of cars, and see the damage...
i hope everybody realizes that this video was make in 2009...5 YEARS AGO...beam ng probably wasnt even thought of so for everbody saying this is beamng....you are wrong...get the facts first
Incidentally, look up 'list of countries by traffic related death rate' on wiki. I'm quite amazed to see US is 12.3 per 100,000 per year, worse than India's 11.1, considerably worse than Switzerland's 4.7 which is surprisingly worse than the UK's 3.59. And to think my american friend from university days was petrified of our driving along what she described as tiny twisty roads at 60mph with loads of traffic.
For those who thinks this is BeamNG with advanced damage: This *IS NOT* a game, this is a visualization I promise, something like Rigs of Rods is NOT That advanced in damage case
Most people in the comments are being so stupid. No it's not RoR, no it's not beamNG and it isn't a game of any sort. It's a pre-rendered animation and you can't download it. By the way the reason it's not in gta 5 is because consoles don't have the processing power to handle it.
Clearly people in the comment section don’t understand what these clips in the video are for. They are made for court cases to demonstrate and represent accidents that happen. I don’t see why almost everyone here is comparing them to video games. These are based off real crashes and scenarios that are sent to the jury and certain people.
Some of these the car is too sensitive! You could compare these to BeamNG.drive and they're less fatal looking, like your roof wouldn't be torn off your Jeep Wrangler if you scraped a stick while your car rolls over!
Accident reconstruction is usually conducted with a combination of photography, photogrammetry, laser scanning, and total station survey techniques (which provide sub-mm accuracy). What is shown here may not be *exactly* how the crash occurred, but is based on the best available in-situ evidence at the time of the investigation.
