Every single one of those drives was a working pull from a laptop that got a SATA SSD upgrade, so all those drives were $0.00 total...so no, I couldn't have.
@@ThePsydiztik the hours he'd had spent trying to flip and sell used laptop drives of potentially dubious (in the eyes of the buyer) origin for pennies would've been far more expensive than just doing this.
I've hit the backup problem at this point. External drive backups are too slow and running them in parallel taxes the array too hard. It's almost to where I need a friggin second server to act as an external backup.
I miss my old day where 500GB is enough, now I can't live with 10TBs+ :(

I literally have 48 TB of storage and about to expand another 24 TB as I'm full.
