Did it all today. 6 for 6, 10 RBIs, 2 stolen bases to reach a total of 51, and 3 home runs to reach 51 on the season. Shohei Ohtani, the absolute GOAT of baseball. What a privilege it is, to watch him play.
there's literally no words to describe how good this man is 🐐🐐🐐
Also 5 for 5 with RISP, and 8 RBI in 2 out situations. The king of high leverage!
I just watched the greatest offensive game ever by Ohtani in the history of MLB and I watched the game for 55 years, 6 At Bats 6 Hits 4 Runs 10 RBIs 2 SBs and 3 HRs the Man is Superman and the GOAT 🐐

Sad thing is the pitchers ain’t matching his greatness and he might not win the World Series cus of the pitching delema
Records broken today
1. Most RBIs by a Japanese player (beating Godzilla’s 116)
2. Most HRs in a season by a Dodger Shawn Green 49)
3. Most RBIs in a game by a Dodger (James Loney 9)
4. First ever 50/50 in MLB HISTORY!!

Yes, I was there with friends and family and we were all cheering him on. My son and his baseball buddies had the time of their lives. Thanks for the memories Shohei!!

Like Babe Ruth, he is a historical player who will be talked about 100 years from now. I envy the American fans who get to see that. If I could see Shohei Ohtani's game, I would take off work to see it. I would be able to boast to my grandchildren that I saw him when I am an old man. His greatness grows as the years go by.
But he's much better looking than Babe Ruth, lol.
@@tonytony8747 he's also playing in a time where statistics can no longer be faked because every game is either televised or has people betting on it so everything must be verified. There's a lot of stuff that went on in the early days of baseball that simply don't make sense. We're supposed to believe that Ruth was hitting that many homeruns when the fences were over 410 at the corners and the ball was a lot softer than the balls they use today?
Ichiro’s statement about Shohei Ohtani during his retirement press conference in 2019: “If he has a season where he wins 20 games as a pitcher, and the following year he hits 50 home runs and wins MVP, that would be monstrous. But it’s not unimaginable. That’s how I feel.”
Shohei Ohtani’s statement: “In respect to you, I’ve established the ‘51-51’ club today, on the day I achieved ‘50-50’!”
51 for respecting Suzuki Ichiro #51
HE IS NOT HUMAN. JAPAN HAS BUILT THE WORLDS FIRST SUPER ANDROID AND INSTEAD OF USING HIM FOR WAR THEY WANTED THE GREATEST BASEBALL PLAYER EVER! THE GOAT
Yeah, I've said a few times that if it turned out Shohei was a secret advanced prototype robot built to play baseball, the only thing that would surprise me about it is that they didn't do more to hide it. You could have made him, like. 20% less good. And he's still in the Top 10 Ever conversation, and maybe winning it?

@@kyohei3552 I like Nintendo and Playstation more honestly.

For those of you who say it's easier to steal bases (to the extent that milestones like this can be easily achieved) how come other players aren't stealing more bases? Why hasn't there been an increase in bases stolen since the 90's? It certainly has fluctuated, but the total number of bases stolen per season hasn't increased dramatically whatsoever.
His presence on the plate and his swing is just a beautiful thing to watch. I love his batting discipline and the way he makes contact with the ball! What a treat to watch this live 50/50 club baby!
well said👍😊
You know Shohei has a good day when... _gestures at this game's numbers_
Half the runs were batted in by him, 3 homers, 6 for 6... I've never seen ANYONE have a game like this.
I just realized half of the runs were batted in by him. Just makes his day better + HE ALMOST HAD A CYCLE!

@@DoubleJ9291I kept saying the same thing. If he didn’t get tag on that stretch toward third, it would have been even more unreal. But 10 rbi and 3hr and 51/51 is not too shabby 😂.
He hit a grandslam on 40/40 the resumed to have one of the greatest game for his 50/50. Like what!? I better not hear anything about Lindor now. 😂

I’ve never heard of those stats in 1 game WOW… 6 for 6, 3 HRs, 2 SBs?? That’s a video game stat. Shohei is unbelievable….
that's a good week for most guys
@@press1500almost for a cycle if he made 3rd...
The closest thing I saw was way back Mark Whiten (who was a journeyman) in 1994 as a Cardinal hit four home runs and had 12 Rbis in a single game.
He is a level 99 video game character with all stats maxed out.
Lasteroid kinda stats
You get it, right?
That $700 million over 10 years was a bargain sale.
Ohtani is still too undervalued.
The Dodgers have already earned more than $700 million.
In just one year.
Even if Ohtani's salary was $2 billion, it would still be low.
He makes the team $700 million every year, and he even contributes by playing.
A player who is rehabbing and out of shape can hit like this.
I can't even imagine what he can do once his injury is healed.
A player like that, who pitches and hits, has 42 HRs and 15 wins. And all this while being at a disadvantage with a weak baseball team.
That means that the double is not simply twice as hard, but more than three or four times as hard.
If Judge was also a pitcher, he wouldn't have hit 15 HRs in a year.
Americans and MLB have never realized how great it is to double as a pitcher and hitter.
Is he a DH and therefore a lesser defensive contributor?
That he gets zero rest as a pitcher?
Even Judge is a great player.
But even if you double his hitting stats from last year, he's still not even close to Otani's.
Because playing a double role is 3x or 4x harder.
Even if he hit 100 HRs, it would not be enough at all.
Do you understand how great Ohtani is?
Did you realize that last year's MVP was unfair?
めっちゃ喋るやん笑

There’s no crying in baseball….but I can’t help it.
Crybaby!
This is literally the imaginary game every little league kid has played in their mind a hundred times. Shohei has finally lived it!
And he lived it in the Pro’s…. unbelievable 🔥
It's incredible to do this in his first season as a Dodger, with all the expectation and pressure on his shoulders - that is what really stands out, it's just amazing
this dude is incredible. It has got to be so hard to get even a hit against a major league pitcher. Unbelievable!
I don't watch baseball, but even I can appreciate this amazing athlete and what he's accomplished on this day.
Shohei "THE BASEBALL" Ohtani. Living Legend!!
Shohei Ohtani is one of the most remarkable players in modern baseball. He is a dual-threat pitcher and hitter, and has accomplished numerous feats.
Recently, he became the first player in MLB history to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases,12 an accomplishment no one has accomplished in the more than 100-year history of Major League Baseball. He also went 6-for-6 with 10 runs batted in, including three homers, and stole two bases in a single game, an astounding feat.
Ohtani's success is more than just a record; it is a testament to his hard work, passion, and sincerity towards baseball. His play has inspired many fans and continues to have a great impact on future baseball players.
We can expect great things from Shohei Ohtani in the future!

@@damien1869 Babe Ruth is the only one above him right now. If Ohtani stays healthy he will go down as the greatest of all time. Bonds may have been the best offensive player, but the fact Ohtani pitches as well puts him in a league above the rest.
Calm down dummy.
@@Alexander_Grant Ohtani has pitched a total of 86 games, has not thrown a pitch in over a year, and it is very possible that he will not pitch again in MLB. So that leaves him as a batter, and he is a LONG way behind Ruth, Wiliams, Bonds, Gehrig, Cobb, Mantle, Hornsby, etc.
Ohtani MVP is confirmed as the best player in Major League Baseball to make history
Just wow, MVP locked up. Unreal game, unreal season. His contract is looking like the steal of the century at this point. He comes back and pitches at half he was before even as a reliever or closer and we looking at the greatest human to ever play the game potentially

It's completely acceptable to hate the Dodgers but love Ohtani.
I might get even better if he repeats something similar while pitching a no-hitter
Speechless. What else can be said for his achievements today. It gave me goosebumps. My brain melted down. Congratulations, Mr. MVP!!!
Ohtani’s f/WAR went up an amazing 0.7 points after today’s historic performance.

New Zealander here too. You forget he normally pitches too. He is by far, the bare minimum, greatest all round skilled baseball player of all time.

When Shohei Ohtani set the “record,” my hands trembled for several minutes. I’ve never experienced anything like this while watching baseball. Even now, my hands are still lightly shaking, but what this man accomplishes is beyond human comprehension. At LoanDepot Park, where he led the world to victory in the WBC last year, he now secured his first postseason berth and set an unprecedented “record.” Just like the “40-40” achievement, he often plays games that remain in both “records” and “memories.” Is he a messenger sent by the baseball gods? No, perhaps he himself is a baseball god in human disguise. …There are still nine regular-season games left to witness his performance, which inspires such fantasies.
I stood and Applauded
Shohei also set a Dodgers record earlier in the season with 10 straight games with an RBI, and whats Amazing is he did it as a leadoff hitter (when Mookie got hurt) Man is setting records and making history.
