I went to Chile (Santiago) for the first time a few months ago, and I have to say Santiago was a breath of fresh air, to be in a modern, developed city after being in Argentina and Uruguay before which aren't the nicest places. I was talking to my taxi driver asking him about the country, and he said pretty much most all of north of Santiago is a wasteland, Santiago is getting worse because of Venezuelan gangsters, and South Chile is beautiful and safe.

in Peru, the micro-enterpreneurs revenue income tax is 1% or 1.5% depending of the amount of income . It is an special kind of tax for small companies. "Sierra y Selva Exportadora", a program focus on exportation of agricultural products located in the highlands or jungle. This program is helped by INIA Instituto Nacional de Innovación Agraria, supporting with the technology and seeds for an specific kind of agro-exportation. Sucessful cases are ginger, red onion, table grapes, garlic, etc. Peru is actually the best country in Latin America for enterpreneurs is some areas as agriculture, cattle, poultry, etc for exportation.

I like Panama. I've been living in Panama for 25 years now. Even mánaged yo get citizenship which people say is hard. I guess I was lucky. And of course I became fluent in Spanish. I also like Colombia.

@@robertgillies9382 I'm from CA,USA and heard there are many Chinese/HK/Taiwanese people there who speak Chinese so I can able to live without have to learn Spanish. I don't speak Spanish and maybe it's too old to learn a new language:). But I speak also English and want to renounce the US citizenship then get Panama PR then stay there a few months (but keep the co. there to get 0% or low tax benefits) per yr and travel Asia and export the goods & sell it to the US market, shifting most of the profit back to Panama co. to enjoy lower tax. I have not visit any S. America countries but read about tax benefits from Panama, Uruguay and Paraguay - I like Panama & Paraguay the most but it's hard to decide which country to get PR from & setup co. there so I don't have to pay more than 50% tax in the US esp CA state income + Federal tax exceeds 50%, I just don't like my tax money goes to bomb other countries & I enjoy more friendship countries unlike USA dislike towards Asian/minority race. Can you share your insights, thank you:)!

A lot of places that get talked up don't mention disability access and accommodation. Not unusual; most people have all their limbs and faculties, but frustrating for we who have had such things happen. It's a serious barrier preventing relocation out of the First World.

@@visualpref Brazil knows what expats and foreigners are looking for -- take "advantage" of countries' services and tax favors, while giving little in return. Brazil does not need these types of "citizens" and makes a point NOT to incite them to come and stay!
