A pleasure to see such well kept and maintained gear, there's another farming channel here on TH-cam and the gear is rough, things are bent, dirty or missing. But yours is fantastic as is the farmyard too.
Great video. Lovely to see field work done in such great conditions late on in the year. This time last year the place was floating. Shot of grease for link arms of 69😜. She bit squeaky on bale transporter
Yes a big change from last year. Great to get it done. Grass was in great order. I know the squeeks, It was on the cat 3 balls.... was rust on them from lying outside.... should have put grease on them. I thought it’d wear off but it squeak the whole time. Ahh well 😂
Great video as usual Gerry, thanks. Like to know your reasoning for not letting cattle graze those fields, keep them out longer, cost saving, rather than housing early.
Will you do a video comparing them to the bales you made earlier just to see how much of a difference it will make in quality them being cut later but being leafy grass
Jaze lad yeez are flat ooot wa !!! See a fairly decent Tanco Wrapper the other day in Carlow on the owld Done Deal......2400 euro...… looked clean and minded!!!!! Stay safe amigo and savage good tight shave on the mowing side …… Gillette lol ???????
Does the double bale handler you have not have one side on hydraulics to lift one independent of the other so ya done have to be teeing the two up together if one is not in position?
You shud have plenty of grass saved now Gerry....great work!! Dat 69 is a beautiful machine!! 64 is more my size of tractor tho....how often do u change them??
Yes plent of silage now. Ahh we tend to hold on to tractors for a while. I’ve had the 6420 since 2004, actually thinking about changing it next year. Do we will see. Depends on how battle prices are
Well the latest one is ok. No calves out him until spring time..... the older one (he’s 5 yrs old)will have to be culled. Foot issue and fertility issues
Hi Gerry, do ya really think touching bales go mouldy!? We used to have this problem when using bale tippers as the friction between the tipper arm and the bale net tore the odd micro hole in the bale! Since fusion 3 plus balers with film on film we never had any problems again.....surely stacked bales touch each other?🤔🤔
I doubt the bales touching makes a difference, as you said when being tipped up the handler puts tiny holes in the bale, rub of a sanding disc on a grinder, bit of paint on it and grease it before use and it should sort that issue
Ireland. Just north of dublin. Good to have you aboard. Big fan of new your and USA.... usually gravelly to Illinois every year to our relations farm. Home from home. 🇺🇸
I do bales with a 996 but we have to drive forward and all’s he does it wheelie but I can hold her just use the brakes well the second cut I was driving though a wood and she was wheeling the whole way home 😂
Now Gerry, you’ll have to get the second beacon going again 😂 John McClean got his share of torture about the second beacon so don’t fall into the same trap he did. Lovely baler regardless though, would you ever consider a wrapper to finish off the baling outfit? It’s hard to beat doing the job yourself after all.
I know you have a 100 farm advisers commenting but would it have been as quick draw them back to the yard on the two bale trailers you have ,for hardiness 😂
Yes ideally it’d be better yes but there are for the cows on the out farm and we have 80 in the yard there and not room for any more so hence leaving them in the field
Good video! Music is a deadly beat for making a lock a round bales! Tight work!

Thanks Oliver.... well it takes a lot of work and care to keep things in shape 😊👌

Great video as usual Gerry, thanks. Like to know your reasoning for not letting cattle graze those fields, keep them out longer, cost saving, rather than housing early.
These fields isolated away from the other grazing and it’s not easy to get livestock in and out of. That’s why we end up grazing. That why
Good vid Gerry baler working well for you👍
What number turns of netting you putting on a bale ??
Great video nice bit of silage should make nice feed 👍
Thanks for all the time you put in making videos appreciate it 👍 👍
Cheers 🐜
Great Video Gerry as usual. The old man was enjoying the bulldozing.LOL.
Who many acres do you own
Good video gerry you'll need to buy a wrapper next to finish it yourself.
Yes you never know.... it’s on the list along with 10 other things 😂
Will you do a video comparing them to the bales you made earlier just to see how much of a difference it will make in quality them being cut later but being leafy grass
Yes I’ll do a comparison of the 2
@@gerry6420 good man 👍
Smashing video Gerry. As always
Can't bate October silage Gerry, we've 10 acres to clear off ourselves whenever the contractor arrives on after the slurry ban!!
Yes if you can get it in dry it’s not bad stuff. Had it last year for cows and the maintained well on it. Actually gained
Good video Gerry, wrapper on the shopping list for next year I assume..

Nice volume of grass for this late, when was it cut last and how much nitrogen did it get?
All it got was 2000 gallons of slurry. Never got anything else. Yes was nice bit of grass
Them fields look a it different today 😅 got them done in good time
Does the double bale handler you have not have one side on hydraulics to lift one independent of the other so ya done have to be teeing the two up together if one is not in position?
Good man Gerry. A corner of a field of bales never goes to waste. Drawing them must be the most hateful job in the world
No doubt. Hate drawing them also
Do you hire a contractor for the wrapping?
Yes I do
How many bales

great vid
Great video.
Hi Gerry are you going to get a bale wrapper to wrap the bales someday?
He has a few neighbours with wrappers so there is always one available to borrow 👍
Well Gerry sir 😎 👍
Hi buddy 👍😊
How's the portmagee bull doing?
Well the latest one is ok. No calves out him until spring time..... the older one (he’s 5 yrs old)will have to be culled. Foot issue and fertility issues
Whats the reason for turning just before it wraps the net?
Tractor and baler.... I weave over the row just to put another bit into which ever side of the bale isn’t just full. Just to try have nice level bales
Great video gerry, glad you got it all done.
Great to have it finished Layton 🎉
Can anyone tell me the name of both songs used in video , excellent tunes

Interesting to hear this too. Have never come across this problem cause I always push the bales in fairly tight to get as many onto the slab.
Good video as usual Gerry 👍
Be some craic opening them 🙈🙈
What is the weight of the bales when you don't field dry them at all?
Last field they could be 450-500kgs. First field around 400 Kgs roughly. I never weighted them.
Great video Gerry 👌🏻👍🏻
Hi Gerry another great video are ye getting a wrapper for next year?
Plenty of neighbours who have wrappers and theres always one available for him to borrow 👍
How much doese it cost to wrap each bale in us currency tom from Nebraska USA
2.50-3.00 $ a bale just to wrap. Plastic not included
