    Unless I’m mistaken I believe Orchid is their first album and Morningrise would be their second album. Great albums!

    Obviously, their earliest stuff is your absolute favourite. Nice to see that.

  • @oregonwoodelf

    All of their early stuff is just as amazing as the later works. It may not have been as well polished/produced back then as the albums with say Steven Wilson, but the music and the vibes are totally there. This whole album is excellent👌

      That is the word that can described for this album, “not polish” I have to agree with you on that!

    A big hug for you my friend!!...No one better than you, to make a reaction video and analyze this incredible singer who is leaving all the experts, literally with their jaws on the floor (Do you remember Jim Carrey's movie "The Mask"? well, just like that)...In 2017, a 22-year-old singer from Kazakhstan, named Dimash Kudaibergen, was invited to participate in the famous Chinese program for professional singers called "The Singer"... In his first appearance, Dimash covered one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse"....Since then all this madness began on the internet, TH-cam and social networks worldwide and he is already considered the best singer on the entire planet... It is almost impossible to see a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges of 8 octaves, that is, the 88 keys of a digital piano, which allows him to reach all registers, both masculine and feminine, that is, he can sing as Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Contratenor, Contralto, Mezzosoprano and Soprano...You can see in TH-cam to all kinds of experts (Vocal coaches, analysts, singing teachers, singers, youtubers, reactors, etc.), who have dedicated themselves to watching his videos and verifying for themselves that what is said about him is completely true....In addition to all this, Dimash is capable of singing in more than 12 languages...In all his concerts worldwide, tickets are sold in just seconds, via the internet, due to the immense popularity he has worldwide... Anyway, I think you haven't met this impressive singer yet, so here is the link to the first song that Dimash performed in China in that year 2017, the song S.O.S., and if it doesn't bother you, I would like you to mention me as the person who recommended it to you...Warning: You have to be prepared for thousands of views, comments and new subscribers...The video It is more recent, so it does not have the millions of views that the first ones, but it is more complete, including an intro, subtitles in several languages and better audio and sound quality...th-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/w-d-xo.html

    I'm happy you're reacting to Orchid. It's nice to be reminded how innovative and great they are, even back then. ❤

    I think Orchid's a cool album as well. More straightforward than the stuff they evolved into, but not the least bit boring - Still recognizeably Opeth. This track always stood out to me from that album, been prolly 10 years since I heard it and I still remember all the melodies.
    Can't wait until you get to "Silhouette" - I have a feeling you might get extra enjoyment from that one.

      @@PJAlphaMusic Oh, and from a fellow Opeth+piano enjoyer. Maybe you'd enjoy Cyril Scott's "Lotus Land" in your private time - My favorite version here on youtube is Edward Cohen's. Scott didn't seem to like his own renditions much. Won't get the views, but it's worth a listen I think!

    I always love Lars's vocals, but his singing during this era of Opeth just hits me different, so frigging gnarly and raw!

    Forest of October and The Twilight is my Robe are my 2 faves off this album. Also different bass player and drummer on this album and the next one Morningrise.

    • @PJAlphaMusic
      @PJAlphaMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      What happened to the bass player?

    • @dragonage2112
      @dragonage2112 ปีที่แล้ว

      He was let go by Ackerfeldt after the morningrise album plus the drummer was on vacation in Brazil when he heard the news and he quit the band as well then. That is how Martin Lopez and Martin Mendez became their next drummer and bass players. Interesting story about the 2 Martins when they saw that Opeth was looking for a new drummer and bassist they both went around town and took down every notice they could find so no one else could audition for the spots they both knew each other and were friends.✌

    What I can't get over is Mikael wrote this when he was only 20. Thanks for reacting to some OG Opeth!!!

    Orchid is a magnificent album. In this song, you can really hear an Iron Maiden influence with the melodic guitar playing, and it is glorious. Mikael loves Iron Maiden. :)

    It always baffles me when people say they don't like the early stuff. The first 6 records is the real Opeth imo. This record especially is my favorite
