I just watched this interview done three years ago. I recently saw Engelbert live on stage and he is still the great performer he has always been and his voice is still clear and beautiful. I admire him for choosing not to have plastic surgery and I love the character lines in his face. Of course he has lost his youthful appearance and put on weight. He seems to have a bit of stiffness in his joints when he puts his foot on one of the speakers but for his age, that is not always easy for most to do. We do not have to think or act our age and it is clear Engelbert still feels himself the young man that stole the hearts of so many of us and we remember that also. Needless to say, I love this man, his voice, especially his sense of humor and I hope he will be performing for many more years. He is a perfectionist in what he does and appears to expect the same from those who perform with him as it should be.
I admire EH for acknowledging he still has many things to learn, he is a humb!e man I never heard him using drugs nor is smoking,he still maintains his poise, elegance as a singer. We thank him for his music that we enjoy today bringing us back in those years when we were still young at hearts may God bless him

Engelbert is very relaxed, and reminiscing about the old days! This is backstage, in his Dressing Room at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ and I was there, to see the show, and had the nicest meeting with Enge after his show. He is so soft spoken, and that touch of a British accent, and telling his stories, and I love to sit there listening to him. I saw him thirty years ago in St. Louis. In his prime. I had the pleasure of riding with my friend who owned the security company at the Fox theater. We took Engelbert and his managers to his private plane. What a thrill it was to look in the back seat and just look at him I listened to him talk to his friends. Wow in person to wAtch him was a joy of my life time
He's lived in America for such a long time he almost does not have that British accent of long ago. Love him. Looks great, sounds great. Thanks for sharing
Release Me was a Success absolutely however it was the way you sang it that made it. Not the content of words and even the music was mundane until you sent it into musical orbit. Your control over the length and depth of notes is breathtaking!
