No. i was a kid in the 80s in the US and we had no milkman. the milkman probably existed in US in 50s, 60s because milk was delivered door to door because of less cars and the job slowly went away as cars came more popular in 70s, 80s, 90s
@@pallavisreetambraparni6995 Actually, it’s a bit more complicated than that. The end of the milkman was brought about very gradually over the course of many decades, starting in the 1950’s and continuing through the 1980’s, by 3 main factors: 1) The advent of both pasteurization and refrigeration, which meant that milk could now be preserved and stored at home for a period, lessening the need for daily deliveries (compared to pre-WWII). 2) The advent of both automobiles and all-in-one supermarkets that carried the whole range of food products (including milk), making it just as convenient and more importantly, CHEAPER to pick up milk at the supermarket than to have it delivered, and 3) Suburbanization. The increasingly far-flung communities and long routes meant that for many places, it was becoming increasingly expensive to deliver milk to every individual home compared to pre-WWII.
Milkman: That's how the Route goes The Obecks, The Keatons and the Handlemans Alex: Mallory would probably just avoid The Handlemans since she won't give their son a chance despite he wouldn't break her heart conpare to the other men
Haha...I loved the milk man's expression, just too funny. "That's the route. The Obeck's, Keaton and Handleman."
I love family ties!
Me too
Family Ties was a great show
Michael Gross is terrific.
Absolutely!! He's so good at comedy, drama-all of it. The way he says things and/or uses his eyes/expressions is just perfect.
Yes. he is
I love the mom in this scene.
0:48 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😆
There was a milkman in the early 80s???????
No. At least not tin the US.
I think milk and ice delivery, in the US, died out in the 1960's as more homes had a refrigerator and ice box.
Yes. We had milk delivered in the 80's.

I didn't realize that milkmen were still a thing up until the 80s.
I can almost say with certainty that this was the last time you saw one in tv.
What the problem she needs loving to
A milkman? In the ‘80s?
There were some but they were a dying breed in those years.
they had milkmen in the 1980s?
Probably certain states and cities still used them up until the 1980's, though I can't imagine it was common.
