Omg ❤I can’t wait for the new brush! the 101 is my holy grail for most of my complexion products the new slimmer one looks like it would be my new favorite for contour & bronzer!❤
GREAT TUTORIAL LISA!! Everything you do, you explain in great detail and why. I love ❤️ that! It's nice to get ready with you in the morning. You have such a positive energy ✨️ 💓 💕
Your video today was so informative. I had an idea of where to place contour and bronzer, but now I definitely know since you greatly explained and demonstrated based on one’s cheek bone structure. Thank you!
Thank you, Lisa, for clarifying the difference between contouring and bronzing. I finally get it. And now i know exactly where to place each.. You simplify things so I have a much better understanding. Love you. ❤❤💘
Really enjoyed this video, very good description of the 3 different things. I have been wondering myself the difference between the 3. I also liked that you mentioned people don't " need" the new brush if they have something similar. In today's world we are bombarded with things we are told we " need" so your perspective was refreshing. Thank you for that. It was also very nice that you mentioned not talking bad about yourself, we should never do that in a derogatory way.
Such great tips Lisa!! Thank you 😊 also the Fenty Amber contour stick is another good cool toned contour. The biscuit one is amazing from Westman Atilier. I cannot wait to get my hands on that new brush may have to get a couple 😊
Giiirrrrrl I’m excited for that brush because I was going to ask you when you’d have a good contouring brush! Beautiful and thanks for sharing this video. I will share with my clients to confirm what I already tell them that you don’t need to contour everywhere haha
Yes, I learned how to contour :) I've never heard of Wesman Atelier. Sounds like a new brand? I'm always a little hesitant to try new brands simply because I think that older brands, such as Lancome or Estee Lauder or Dior, have stood the test of time. I guess I'm loyal to my brands. I wonder your take on it. What's interesting though is that I recently read that many beauty product brands are owned by six big names (for example, Mac and Clinique are owned by Estee Lauder).
Thank you for the information, Contour and bronzing have been difficult for me. I recently got back into wearing makeup after several years. Bronzer and contour wasn’t really a thing back then. Thanks for the lesson, much appreciated.
For sure and I don't think contour is necessary unless you are doing photos anyway. The contour can look obvious in real life. But bronzer I do like because it definitely adds warmth back in after adding foundation.
I absolutely love your videos. I can tell you know what you're doing and I totally appreciate you taking the time to put your knowledge out there. Plus, you're ridiculously beautiful!
On your recommendation I purchased Charlotte's beauty skin sun kissed glow bronzer and petal cream blush. My middle aged face never looked better. I truly value your reviews and tips. Thank you!💕
Great video, thank you so much for explaining things so well. 😁 I can't wait to practice this beautiful natural contour. 😀 I have never been good at doing makeup and I am a rookie, but I'm keen to dive in. Thank you again. ❤
Please do a tutorial on this makeup look, it’s really stunning yet very natural. Thanks for this video, it was very, very helpful! I’ve been doing makeup for decades and I still always pick up excellent quality tips from you!
Hello Lisa my friend 😁❤️. I'm so grateful that you actually showed where to start & finish the contour application. I love your cheeks & nose, they are adorable 🥰. I like when you said "right under the cheek bone" as opposed to sucking in your cheeks & applying the contour to the hallow. As we age gracefully, our cheeks move downward, so your technique works for all ages. Thank you, thank you 😊. Okay,I need that new contour 🖌️, when will it be available, please 🥺😂? As always, another great video 👏🏽👏🏽. Thank you 😊. Cheers 😉🌷
Lisa, what are your feelings about the concept of "bron-tour" ? (where one product is used to achieve both the effects of warming the face but applying definition to the features as well.) Given what you said about the purpose of each product, (hightlight/light, contour/shadow, bronzer/warmth), is bron-tour just marketing to sell a product or can it legitimately be a real thing where one product can achieve shadow and warmth--seemingly contradictory things. 🤔 Also, can one just bronze or just contour or just highlight, OR do you need to do all three steps (or maybe none of them)? Are there any ill-effects if you just focus on one without the other(s)? **I sure hope all of this makes sense!** Thanks Lisa! You are such an amazing teacher and I love how you are able to break down these techniques from high fashion/editorial pictures we see to what works for real-life, everyday, and in-person. You are the best!! ❤️❤️❤️
The "bron-tour" sounds like just marketing to get you to buy. It COULD work in some situations, but not all. If you're going to do just one step, I would choose bronzer because it CAN double as a blush, if it's the right shade. If you do contour only, it'll look a bit strange in natural light because it's going to accentuate the "shadow" only; it may make your face look sick because it'll resemble a "zombie" look. I've actually seen interviews with special FX makeup artists that use contour alone to get that "dead" look, so it's not flattering. I've never tried highlight alone, but I do like the blushlighter's. That's a great 2 in 1 that's flattering. Highlight CAN emphasize texture though. If you're wearing foundation, you'll need to put some kind of color back on, or else you'll get that sick/dead look; blush would be the ideal one and done if you want to just use one product. Good luck!
You’re such a professional!!! Refreshingly amazing tutorial. I’m a makeup lover and have been contouring for many years but recently converted to cream products and feel like a beginner all over again! 🙃 This video was super insightful!! 🙏🏼❤️
Omg I was just talking about how I don't contour yesterday in my makeup Queen chat. Now I must try this since you are such a great teacher and this is very useful 🙂
Wayne Goss did an in depth video on how to contour 7 different nose shapes. Bare minerals has a pressed powder "bronzer" that has no sheen and leans coolish, good for contour and more affordable option.
Great job as always Lisa!! You mentioned sometimes you will bring a contour down a little further on the cheek than you did here. What reasons are good for this? 2. As to contour on the jaw, when dealing with jowels, what suggestions do you have? Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much for showing us where everything goes. I don't ever use anything but blush because I'm so afraid with me being 60 it will look so dumb on me. Lol I am thankful to the BKB brushes. I've watched you use those enough I know when to use certain brushes. Thank you! ❤️
Lisa I would LOVE to see you review the new makeup forever hd skin palette. It seems a very similar concept to the Seint makeup but I'd love to hear your thought on it!
Lisa, can you suggest drug store or “affordable” cream cool toned contour products for us to try? Not only helpful due to inflation, but better to not waste luxe products while we practice. 😊. Thank you!
Elf has a putty bronzer in the color “feeling shady” that makes a good contour. SheGlam also makes a contour stick, if you’re open to buying from them.
Hi Lisa, I’m a newbie to contouring…this video is so helpful. I have a small face. I’m 56 and want to add definition. Which BK brush is best for applying the contour as you show in this video? Thank you so much
My question is regarding setting powder. After setting your make up with a translucent powder and how do you touch it up later without it looking cakey? My son is getting married in October. I need my makeup to look good for 8+ hours. I use a cream or liquid foundation and cream blush and a contour stick and a little powder bronzer. I also use a setting spray.
Yes, you would just skip contour. It's purpose to sculpt the face, accentuating the shadows, to create angles, so it'll make your face appear "thinner", not full. Blush on the apples of cheeks will make it appear more full, and highlight will accentuate it even more. Good luck!
Because the warm bronzer on top will blend slightly into the top of the contour, giving it a more natural appearance. The cooler toned contour will still show up on the bottom, creating the "angled", sculpted look.
Please please please stop saying ‘schtructure’ you are so articulate and it’s one of the things I admire about you. I know it’s the thing to do - society somehow made this the new way to pronounce these types of ‘st’ words but it really sounds awful. Love your content though

Yeah I’ve waiting for this!!
I cannot wait for that new brush! Great video!
You seem like such a wonderful person and you are a great instructor.
The new brush looks like 101's baby!!! So exciting and I can't wait :)

Great video. Would love to see some great drugstore contour options. Thank you for sharing this with us!
NYX has a dual-sided cream stick, that has contour on one end, and highlighter on the other. I've used it a lot, and like it.
@@daynad8104 thank you for sharing this! I’ll have to check it out! ❤️🙏

Love the tip about using the Hourglass powder as highlighter! I have texture and I always feel like shiny highlighters just exaggerate my texture.
Your video today was so informative. I had an idea of where to place contour and bronzer, but now I definitely know since you greatly explained and demonstrated based on one’s cheek bone structure. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching, Melanie!
Hi Lisa, great video! You look stunning!🥰
Thank you so much Claudia :)
I needed this and always wondered what’s the difference, so thank you for this.

I tend to go really heavy-handed with my contour and bronzer, so I obviously need to tone it down a bit. Lol.

Do you put Contour on after or before foundation?
Hi Lisa - How would you use contour if you want your face to look fuller? Or would you just skip contour on the cheeks? Thank you!
Yes, you would just skip contour. It's purpose to sculpt the face, accentuating the shadows, to create angles, so it'll make your face appear "thinner", not full. Blush on the apples of cheeks will make it appear more full, and highlight will accentuate it even more. Good luck!

if it's so important to do the contour in a cool shade, why go back over it with warm?
Because the warm bronzer on top will blend slightly into the top of the contour, giving it a more natural appearance. The cooler toned contour will still show up on the bottom, creating the "angled", sculpted look.
