Hi . Im half way thru . 1. 2x DA is going so what do ? Absolute madness . 2. Transport. I have to get out of my prison at least once weekly , if able , not just for medical . Last week , 10/2024, I needed 6 hours to cover 7 destinations. Only 2 were medical . The other 5 were shopping and 1 social . That would have been maybe 12 taxis - ca not do . Last time recently i used Cabcharge i was charged twice the actual fare which is a nightmare disputing- I think the driver taking advantage of vulnerable people on purpose or a Cabcharge scam . $140 a fn ? $360 that week . 3 . Gardening. I don't really have 1 but weeds and a loopy cotton tree so twice a year at $170 per visit . 4. Meals and desserts . I pay for ingredients only at about $40 per week. 5 . Was not safe on a donated electric wheelchair that I spent a lot on myself - quantum took it away. Next week seeking a folding portable 4 wheeler . Probably 4000 to to 5000 . 6. Hospital bed trundleburg frame mattress topper etc . Between 4000 and 10000 . I will have about 9000 transferred in about 30 days to my new provider . How can a consumer really budget ? Like your channel thanks .
I have been trying to find out which mop and bucket is preferred by my provider. Am not happy with the service at the moment as they say they will come anywhere between 8.0 am and 1.00 pm. Always a different person, and never know when they are going to turn up. Can I change my provider?
Watch the video which was good but it does not tell you that you have to use a provider to manage the funds who will rip possibly $5000 out of the package for administration & if you have to be assess by Services Australia & you may have to pay out of pocket fee called an income tested care fee which the package is reduced by.
I'd you listen to Villagelocal videos you would see where you need a provider. There is also self managing or self manage plus. These two do not charge such high rates. I am with Trilogy it's 15% I believe now flat rate for fully self manage
Thank you for perfect explanation of home care package budgeting .Love your channel. Straight to the point .

I have heard they are good 15% for fully self managed@@helencoombs8503
Self managing may be impossible depending on your managers competency next year .
