If you are going to get rid of any girls or wethers look into the Eldridge Family. They are a young family with a 2 year old and new twins. They are trying to build their homestead but things are getting in the way. Someone gave them an intact billy baby that is coming of age. They would be well cared for and loved.
About the rats and mice, why do you think everyone has barn cats? They are attracted by the feed and stuff the animals eat and drop. Pick up a young cat or 2 from the shelter. If you feed them near the hay area that would be a good place for them to live and be protected from the weather. Place is really looking good. Y’all are doing a great job 👏. Love ❤️

Bleu has been pregnant and dealing with mama hormones since before Herc met her. Her life before Shady Acres was turbulent. After the goatlets are weaned, give her time for her hormones to settle. You may be pleasantly surprised at how well she and Herc get along. Rehoming Mario is a good idea. It will give Bleu, Mama and the rest of the goat pen peace. It will prevent unplanned pregnancies too.

The hardest decision depends on your plans for the goats. What is their purpose? Pets? Weed control? Future income? Food? Boys to clear the property and girls for babies. Either way you will need 2 separate enclosures. Baby boys need to be separated from their moms around 3 months to prevent accidents! Nice thing about Premier 1 fencing, it can be moved around as needed.

I would also suggest to fence,(sire or electrical) off different areas of the land release the hens and the goats together because they get along. The chickens can clean the bugs and the goats can clean the weeds. Which gives you guys the chance to cut down more trees.

Kyle and Shannon you're sure making the property look so nice. I can relate to that there's never enough time in the day to finish everything. We purchased our property in February and have had a construction zone on our house since. 6 months later and we're packing to move as of this weekend. For the last 6 months I have been at our country property 4 days a week and at our city property 3 days a week. I will tell you packing a bag and moving between the properties has been a struggle. We had a set back this last week when I broke a tooth eating broccoli! 🤷🤦 Yeppers, I was trying to eat healthy and get into better shape. I broke the tooth on Monday and by Thursday when the dentist had an opening it had gotten infected. I had 3 teeth pulled and part of the jawbone removed. Just being gone a whole week has set me back on keeping our grass cut. We've been fighting poison ivy and oak too. So far I have been lucky not to get it but you should see the pictures I have of the vines taking over one of our outbuildings. The vines are about 5-6 inches in diameter and they stretch over 20 feet up the back of the building. I have ordered the materials to build our pens for our soon to be goat enclosure and have already been delivered. Now our search begins to find some goats for our 9 year old grandson that has Asperger's (autism). He already has done the research on how to take care of goats, chickens and rabbits and is ready to get them all. I finally have him convinced we can't get a Dolphin or a penguin for our pond that it's not the proper place for them to live. 😂 Anyhow I sure enjoy every video and my grandson watches every video too. He's excited to start his little farm. Thank You both for sharing your life with us. Much Love from our family to your family 💞

A LaMancha goat is a dairy breed, used for milking. They can actually be milked for two years before needing to stop a be "freshened" (become pregnant and have kids again to produce milk). However, they still don't keep the Bucks, males, with or near the girls because of their behavior, risk of pregnancy and some say that having a breeding male to close alters the milk. Any male you keep as a pet would be happier neutered. As the little boys are not registered and it's anyone's guess if they are or are not a purebred LaMancha their chance of finding a good home to be a breeding goat before the new owners need another male to not have their Buck breeding his daughters and finding another good home are slim. There are too many males already which is why they are auctioned off.

You guys have come a long way in your land beautification and your learned experience of carpentry, big equipment and farm animals. I agree that you have more goats then you need, as much fun as they are, they also take much needed time away from other projects that you want and need to do, I’m sure you will find good homes for your goats and recoup some revenue from the sale to put towards upgrades. You should be very proud of yourselves! 🐐❤

Try putting Luigi in with Mario. Goats are herd animals and want to have companions. I know that Mario is very food driven, but with all that pasture Luigi should be fine. Spruce can go over there eventually too. I agree, sell the baby boys, but I would try word of mouth, not Craig's list. The thing is, people who are interested in breeding goats are interested in more than "pretty colors". Love y'all...

I have no idea what direction you guys want to go with your farm. I would love to see you guys raise some different breeds of chickens. But that’s just me thinking of what I would like. Whatever you guys decide I know you will put lots of thought into it. I wish you the best. Godspeed

Definitely some hens for eggs. Although roosters are very pretty, I don't think a rooster would be in Shannon.s future at this time.

p I do hope she can overcome that fear although I do understand fear of certain things. My fear is frogs and lizards. Especially frogs. I can just see one on tv and my heart rate goes up high! My grandson didn’t really realize how bad the fear is so he tried to put a frog on me. I ended up in tears. He felt so bad. There I was a grown woman crying bc he was scaring me with a frog. He never tried that again!

If you want to still keep Mario, you cant band him, but you could have him neutered. You would have to do your research on it however. I dont k ow for sure if it would be to hard on him or not due to him being full grown. I dont know enough about goats to give good advice, but it might be something to look into.
