You forgot the enginr access hole in the interior for the other side behind the spare tire.
Also they're expensive because i truely believe there are less than 700 of them alive in the world.
Doesnt the Cappuccino have the same speed limiter stock? Mine does.
Stock these have a lot of body roll for what they are.
AZ-1 specific stuff is expensive. Everything is custom through the community. We're just madmen that put cash into for R&D and production whenever possible. The dream is to make a carbon fiber monocoque to replace its steel skeleton.
When buying one of these the allure should be for this car is how low it sits and its chassis for driving fun. Then its that its adorable and the doors. It was engineered in Britan for the dynamics afterall.

I always say the ABC cars are that: your intro into the world of Kei cars. Then you have the four horsemen: The Alto Works, Mira TRXX, Vivio RX-R, and Minica Dangan ZZ4. Can’t go wrong with AWD, turbo or supercharged (for the Vivio) engines all wrapped up in a practical lil hatchback.

How about something that is easy to work on, has 4WD and is faster, lighter, and 1/3rd the price of a Cappuccino? Or 1/10th the price of an AZ1?
The answer is always Alto Works! We all have our favorites 😉 They are all very very cool.
Alto is cool but not in my opinion not in the same class as the ABC. Alto comps would be the Subaru Vivio, Wagon R and the other hot hatches. Alto > AZ1 tho
I agree they are not in the same class but better!
If you don't have a pair of racing shoes i'd strongly recommend buying a pair since your driving these small stick shift kei cars. A narrow ( compared to your typical 👟)racing shoe will give you more room for the petals. The thin sole gives you better petal feel also.
I'd never wear those crocs driving a kei stick shift car. That dosen't look all that safe.

I love the Cappuccino so much! I’ve had 2 and they’re just too good! I just purchased my first AZ-1 and awaiting its arrival from overseas! I can’t wait!!!!! Also just got an Alto works in and a Jimny on the way. Gotta see how they all compare with the same engines! (Barring the K6A in the Jimny)

I still like the Sera better if we are going for a JDM with cool look-at-me doors. My 9YO saw one at a local car show this summer and loved it. That is something I can swing by the time he can drive.
I love the AZ-1 no matter what. I'm not crazy for it but i do love it.

I think it's the cost vs the practicality. They are cool, just not for the majority of people.
Every is saying your negative about it but I think you're right. Its hype verses practicality. I would rather a Daihatsu L55/L60 Mira any day over this.

everyone talks about the ABC of kai cars well i think i have the D the daihatsu mira trxx type r. in my humble opinion the best kai car. so much room so much fun easy to drive get in and out of. four cyl., awd, great fuel mil. the only problem and its a huge problem is getting parts i cant find an air filter so i have to modify it. maybe i can find an oil filter i got a part number but cant find the oil filter either. really sucks.
Mira is great I just think those 3 are together because their 2 seaters “sports cars”
It’s all about the look when you walk towards it, and you getting in the car…
if a car is a pain to get in it then you already have a negative feeling about it before you’ve even turned on the engine.

If you want the quickest obviously its the Cappuccino i know Uk versions with the extra 5bhp do 0-62 in 8.0 not sure how much quicker than JDM version but definitely the AZ-1 is 11 seconds so if it seems quicker its had work done on it. Im told the UK cappuccino owners clubs have AZ-1 members.

How about the JFC built "hyabusa V-8" ( IT uses hyabusa cylinder heads)3.0 liter, 460hp, 10,000RPM redline stuffed in AZ-1? Talk about a sleeper. That would be the altimate AZ-1. OR stuff the same 'busa V-8 in a cappuccino. Or better named expresso extreme! There are cars out there with this engine in them on you tube. Jay leno has 1 stuffed in his ariel atom.
Uncle rich was putting one into a vw rabbit truck @richrebuilds it's been a while so I don't know where he is on that.
@@craigpeel5983 I think that was just a regular 4 cylinder hyabusa they fabricated into that truck....not the v-8. I followed that build. It was cool.

The Capachino is more practical than AZ 1 and in Australia most JDM Kei car are expensive but Kei cars were sold by dealerships and it most Australia is a right drive and there are a lot of JDM vehicles around like the 5 people movers from Toyota Aand the Nissan Elgrand they are everywhere because there inly a couple of people movers you can from dealerships but l have seen JDM people movers with 10 kilometres on one a Toyota Alphard but it was just aud $100000 and l saw a AZ 1 sell for aud 33500 at auction and l have seen only one Capacino once and when they came out in the early 1990s they were aud $40000 also l have seen a couple of Toyota Sennas around

Try to use a fast food drive thru. Super small window placed low on the door. Doubtful your food bag and drink would fit thru the window.

@@Jay_Silviafrunk! The rear shelf space is plenty and is larger than the cappuccino trunk.
It is more than the doors that make the AZ-1 cooler. The MazdaSpeed version is the bomb with Ferrari styling and mid-engine! The AZ-1 is EASIER to get into than a Cappuccino and has more room on the inside.
Mazda speed az1 is just a spoiler and little exterior pieces nothing done to the engine or performance. AND on top of that those are even more expensive!!!!

Yeah I'm not spending 10k+ on a k car
10k is a pretty solid amount for most keis but its hard to get the really nice/rare ones for under 10
