MY FIRST FASTPASS in tokyo sea. i didnt check online because i wanted a surprise, AND OMG IT WAS. i was like holding onto the thing they use to test if ur seat belt is working the whole time, and when i got off at saw the taken picture of me i was SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII and to people who say its not as fast as the other ones, i swear, this is REALLY THE FASTEST A COMPANY LIKE DISNEY CAN GO.
Translation(Thumbs up so everyone can see) Newscaster: Mr.Hightower, this is told to be a cursed idol! Hightower: A Cursed idol? How stupid! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA *Thunder* Spirit of Hightower: The curse of shiriki utundu is real, do not proceed! You will be the same as my fate! *elevator goes up* Hightower: LISTEN TO MY ADVICE! THE CURSE IS REAL!! The Eyes of Shiriki Utundu!!! AHHHHHHHH!!! *elevator crashes* Hightower: Escape now! There is still time!! *Shiriki Utundu laughs and dissapears*
The one in Orlando is based off the TV show "The Twilight Zone". The show itself is in the Mystery and occasionally some Horror this one however, I really don't know much but due to my observations I think it's the haunted mansion mixed with the Tower of Terror.
Yeah I think so too. Twighlight zone tower of terror gives me the creeps every time I ride (cause of the atmosphere, not a defined antagonist) but the 'story' here has an actual 'villian'. Idk I think its just ominous versus identified evil haha.
i am SO glad they don't have that little voodoo thing in WDW's Hollywood Tower of Terror... they really don't hold back with the creeoy side of Disney in Japan... those kids man up EARLY..
The attractions pull you down faster than the SPEED of gravity, not the weight. That's the reason why the drops cause each passenger to rise out of their seat, because they are moving at a speed faster than gravity can pull them down.
When I was little I was obsessed with the Disney parks. I had been to tower of terror in Orlando but when I saw this a while ago I was seven or something like that. I immediately bought a dream catcher. This will haunt me forever
For those who don't understand Japanese, the story is different from the Twilight Zone ver. (Only very few Japanese heard of Twilight Zone which is why it is different in Disney Sea). It is basically about some rich hotel owner known as Harrison Hightower III who brought home a cursed idol called Shiriki Utundu and got himself cursed since he didn't believe there was a curse. There is more info on the Disney Wiki or PM me for more stuff. Been there billions of times.
I waited an hour in the summertime for this ride, and it was very much worth it. The pre-show has some of the best effects of any Disney ride~ So much fun! I want to go again :)
When I visited TDS with my parents years ago, we got onto this ride without knowing it was anything of this sort. (My mother never rides anything scary) We thought it was some kind of haunted house for kids, and in the next second the scene from the top of the tower took us by surprise. I'm glad I didn't know because I had so much fun! Well, except my mother freaked the f out xD
Actually the Florida one is the most advanced, longest, most intense and expensive one Disney has ever made. After building the one in Florida disney made all of the other ones shorter and like this one to save space and money. You will never find another tower like the one in Florida but you will find the same tower design for the Cali one, the Tokyo one, etc.
I am in Japan right now and going to Disney sea next week!!! 😃😃😃 definitely not this ride though..my friend has never gone on it and she wants to and I keep saying that she doesn't want to LOL
I went on this. I really loved the effects and the drop is so cool! Did you know that they actually have a computer pick a random drop sequence out of a selected approved batch? and btw, when I went on it, the idol was on the left
Im visiting disneysea in less than 30 days and ive always wanted to ride this tower of terror but am afraid id die of heart attack lol bc you see im just a teen. This time imma getting over my fears and ride this!
@15preetynini no wrong, just because its in japan doesn't mean its a japanese story. it's set in new york, its about a amercan explorer and hotel owner called harrison hightower
American English speaker so I don't know what they're saying but I get the storyline, and now I'm glad I'm riding the California version where the only scary thing that happens is you fall. That Idle gives me the willies! P.S. I hope "gives me the willies" won't translate into something else in japaneese.
Overall, in my prospective Tokyo DisneySeas TOT, is waaay better than Paris, WDW, or California. The Massive details in every corner give the feel that you are actually in 1899 when the Shiriki Utundu made Mr. Hightower dissapear... The artifact chamber( which is the boiler room in the other parks), is SOOOO realistic. :D
OHH.....EM..........DOUBLE G! watching this whole video made me think of my afraid of elevators (and the tower of terror) now I'm really gonna cry if my parents ever make me go to another elevator.
Yes there are motors. All drop rides have motors. The elevators are placed inside a ride box that has steel rope (whatever that is called) that are on the top and bottom. The ride can be seen as a giant pulley if you will. The motors wither pull it down or up with a high tech computer used to time them together so they either speed up the drop or pull it down. Check your inbox I will send you the motor information.
The story for this ride is soooo cool. Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever ride it, I don't think I'll ever go to Japan in my life, (if my family is ever going to go out-of-continent I think it would most likely be to Europe) but I wanna ride it really bad! :( But I can't understand anything except for "Shiriki Utundu", I do NOT speak Japanese. Wish there was a video of this with English subtitles, watching a video of the story of this ride with English subtitles is how I learned the story :P
I've lived in America and Japan both so I've ridden this one and the one in Florida. The one in Japan is really good but the one in Florida is a bit better because it goes forward too
omg i love this ride i rode on this when i was 7 and when it starting to fall i screamed for like 5 secs and i was like in my head this isn't bad and i was like sitting down there while it going up and down and i was like this is sooo fun so on the pic my face expression was normal i wasn't screaming or anything.
Actually falling with gravity is boring. Disney wanted a much bigger thrill so all of the Tower of Terrors have motors that pull the elevators down faster than what gravity can. That is why you float. You just learned something new. :D
Translation(In Ride) Hightower: Infidels, why have you ignored my warning? But I must be the one punished for what I have done, destroying my own life because of greed, to get the most worthy treasures in the world, now I need to experience that fear, for life!! Hightower(after drop):You have survived the curse, but listen to my advice, do not go through the path of greed, never come back
Just in case for people who don't know what they say at the start.... The man says that the legend of the curse is fake and he laughs... then he turns old and he says that it's real and that they should get out before its too late...As he knows the consequence.. His destiny is to make the curse go away but he failed
@mervinchoa90 Long story short. Rich japanese guy steals long-lost amulet. Amulet is cursed. Rich guy steps into an elevator with the amulet. Lightning strikes. Elevator plunges. No body found, just the amulet, which you can see standing at the start of the video.
I wish this ride was in America so we can learn a Japan tale about an explorer who picked up a cursed idol for a tribe and brought in an elevator and came to life and sent the elevator to ground-zero. That's really very scary.
Not gonna lie, I screamed like a bitch on this ride but it was totally worth it! The atmosphere is definitely a lot scarier if you can't understand Japanese but it was by far my favourite ride at the park. Nice job Disney! :D
I prefer this over the its American counterpart , even though I couldn't understand the story I could still get the gist while I was there. It is a much scarier version.
I can't understand Japanese but when I went on it and saw this bit I took that it was about some guy stealing a cursed artifact that caused his elevator to crash.
MY FIRST FASTPASS in tokyo sea. i didnt check online because i wanted a surprise, AND OMG IT WAS.
i was like holding onto the thing they use to test if ur seat belt is working the whole time, and when i got off at saw the taken picture of me i was SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

That idol is really creepy! It freaking SMILES at you and vanishes! Idk which is creepier now this or regular tower of terror!
I think this version takes creepy up a notch.
i am SO glad they don't have that little voodoo thing in WDW's Hollywood Tower of Terror... they really don't hold back with the creeoy side of Disney in Japan... those kids man up EARLY..
i love this ride in cali
OMG ANDY ILYSMMMM

Do you know
"The Level 13"???
You can ride on for 1/6-3/14 every years.Don't miss it!
This ride is like No. 1 in the Disney Sea ! And the story is also attractive !
For those who don't understand Japanese, the story is different from the Twilight Zone ver. (Only very few Japanese heard of Twilight Zone which is why it is different in Disney Sea). There is more info on the Disney Wiki or PM me for more stuff. Been there billions of times.
Wow, this is nothing like the other tower of terrors. They really think of things differently in Japan
I waited an hour in the summertime for this ride, and it was very much worth it.
The pre-show has some of the best effects of any Disney ride~ So much fun! I want to go again :)

Obviously, it is one of the most scariest rides of all time yet so good!
Wow! This is really different than the other ones. Not bad but i like the other versions more (:

I remember my legs felt like jelly after the ride. My uncle couldn't even stand up from his chair.
I used to live next to this park, I'M GETTING NOSTALGIC!!! How did I even SURVIVE this when I was 8!?!?
I have to say, Please do be careful... i shouted when the elevator dropped and all of the people in the elevator heard me JK 😂
trust me this is THE BEST ride at tokyo disneysea, y'all should try this definitely recommended
This ride haunted me during the entire summer of 2010 and still is today. I will never forget the darn scary idol.
I think this is amazing... I love that Disney is worldwide like this
wow japan have awesome technology, and the TOT in japan deffinatley shows that. wow love it how the statue guy shoots at you and you drop, awesome fx
i went to the same ride in disney land paris its amazing it lifts you out ur seat and it feels like ur flying
This looks like an awesome ride, but I still think Florida's version is the best.
I went on this. I really loved the effects and the drop is so cool! Did you know that they actually have a computer pick a random drop sequence out of a selected approved batch? and btw, when I went on it, the idol was on the left
Ryan V. The random drop sequence is only at Disney world
How many storeys does it drop?
This is my favorite ride at Tokyo DisneySea!!!!!
this reaminds me of the one in disney world in florida USA. i can even hear the twilight zone theme song playing.
ITS ABOUT TIME! thank you so much. :3 Ever since this ride first opened ive been wondering what was said.
Im visiting disneysea in less than 30 days and ive always wanted to ride this tower of terror but am afraid id die of heart attack lol bc you see im just a teen. This time imma getting over my fears and ride this!
Haha... Just rode this today at DisneySea Tokyo... That crazy ride pulled my intestines out! And they did this for about 7 times!! :)
@15preetynini no wrong, just because its in japan doesn't mean its a japanese story. it's set in new york, its about a amercan explorer and hotel owner called harrison hightower

P.S.
I hope "gives me the willies" won't translate into something else in japaneese.
This is my favorite attraction in my life.
it's very awsome because you ride tower of terror and you try evry ride
i miss Japan!! :(( and this is the best ride everrrrrrr
The drop sequence is almost identical to CA.
Of course this is nothing like the florida one, that one is one of a kind, hope I get to ride it someday.
I had already been on on the tower of terror but I went on it on Florida and California it is the same thing
Ah!!!! The elevator is facing the wrong way!
Well it's like that in all versions but...
Oh those wacky japanese crying at the ride...makes it even more fun to watch...;)
Overall, in my prospective Tokyo DisneySeas TOT, is waaay better than Paris, WDW, or California. OHH.....EM..........DOUBLE G! watching this whole video made me think of my afraid of elevators (and the tower of terror) now I'm really gonna cry if my parents ever make me go to another elevator.
this ride has a really dark story to it
This one is much cooler compared to the one in Orlando,Florida
The music playing when the idol lights up in the intro sounds like a Professor Layton song.
Awesome service elevator 🛗 going up and down.
The storyline for this one is creepier than the traditional 'Twilight Zone' versions. I mean, a mad doll?! lol
OMG THIS WAS GREAT I remember!!!!!

I love this ride the elevator.
But this was one of my best ride I ever rode!! And, I am going to ride it until I die!
The story for this ride is soooo cool. I rode this, my arms and legs were everywhere!
I took this ride and I almost flew out of my chair. It was BEASTTTT
watching it is sooooo much easier than going on it again
I want to ride this!
i thought you did...
next time, let go of the bar handles. see what happens. it's awsome.
jessie li, this is the one in Tokyo
oh...._.
This looks cool!
HOLLY SHIT i miss this ride and i miss Japan!!! I will come to u again JAPaaan!!
I've lived in America and Japan both so I've ridden this one and the one in Florida. The one in Japan is really good but the one in Florida is a bit better because it goes forward too
That's a pretty neat pre-show before you get on the actual ride
i want to go on this soooo bad. the story is so awesome!
This one is closer to horror.
The Tower of Terrors in Florida and Paris are more eerie and suspenseful.
My heart was pounding just watching this but I think that tower of terror in Florida is super scary like super scary
omg i love this ride i rode on this when i was 7 and when it starting to fall i screamed for like 5 secs and i was like in my head this isn't bad and i was like sitting down there while it going up and down and i was like this is sooo fun so on the pic my face expression was normal i wasn't screaming or anything.
i dont really care about anything about the language or anything else in this ride but it looks epic!
that's a seriously nice intro :) even though I didn't understand it :P
Actually falling with gravity is boring. Disney wanted a much bigger thrill so all of the Tower of Terrors have motors that pull the elevators down faster than what gravity can. That is why you float. You just learned something new. :D

Hightower(after drop):You have survived the curse, but listen to my advice, do not go through the path of greed, never come back
who doesn't? I do for sure!!
I went on this 7 times 😂 I swear that's me screaming in the background
Thank you. I see I was incorrect and that is truly fascinating. Thanks for the information! and my apologies for the incorrect correction XD
have been on it three times in three different park !!! its fun but has the scariest story 😶
Just in case for people who don't know what they say at the start.... The man says that the legend of the curse is fake and he laughs... then he turns old and he says that it's real and that they should get out before its too late...As he knows the consequence.. His destiny is to make the curse go away but he failed
your the best , thank you
I already ride this it's so scary!!!! And i feel like my soul flying far to me
1:31 Sounds just like he is yelling MORTAL KOMBAT!
@mervinchoa90 Long story short. Rich japanese guy steals long-lost amulet. Amulet is cursed. Rich guy steps into an elevator with the amulet. Lightning strikes. Elevator plunges. No body found, just the amulet, which you can see standing at the start of the video.

looks cool but i like twilight zone theme more
Paris version's great too!
Lolol that woman was sgaking and crying at the end
No i went on this ride today and it is just a straight drop and when I went on we got stuck and got to go again
Which one did you go to?
+Kohaku Takada the one in Japan
oh strange
so enjoy!!
It is a much scarier version.
omay I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
the one in america is more scary and it stops suddenly. this one is more fun and it feels like your floating but is still fast
I scream at this at the top of my voice for going down so fast
it seems noticable this is using the almost the same audio used for California and Paris, most noticably during the main drops
I can't understand Japanese but when I went on it and saw this bit I took that it was about some guy stealing a cursed artifact that caused his elevator to crash.
no he bought it or someone gave it to him but it was cursed
Sounds really interesting! :D
Japan doesn't have the Twillight Zone because it is almost unheard of in Japan. This is a different version of The same thing.
There need to be an english translation for the ride!
that was super creepy, im glad that little thing isnt at the one in DCA
Best ride ever! But i have no power to try it 4 d second time... I'm old enough hehehe.. 😜
Okay, This islittle scary for Disney. P.S they had a game of this and it waz so scary!
rode this 2 years ago and died afterwards.
the skeleton is still there when he disipears after he shows his plan
1:44 that wave good bye to the real world.
TokyoDisneySea version BGM is best
