Somehow when I tuned out 6 hours ago I knew I wouldn't miss anything.
Why are they even doing a test with a manned capsule ?
Like who's idea is it, to test something out without any precise DATA to send people either in low orbit or outer space ?
And something I don't get is why don't they use the Falcon 9 instead of Atlas V ?
Is it some kind of private entreprise vs Governement type of thing ?
@PLiVX your a little behind.
They did an unmanned launch some time ago but had to fix a few things and made a few modifications.
If I remember correctly it could not dock to the space station among other things. Thats why it took so long for a crew launch
@@anthonymiller7992 so needless to say that those modifications need to be tested but why are they doing it with astronauts in it ?
I'm thinking Boeing really love to kill people for nothing.
same %95 go earlier, still can't launch.
Same here. I'm just tuned-out for this program. LOVE the idea of more human-populated spacecraft but, Boeing SMH. I don't "blame them" (after all SPACE IS HARD) but seriously, Boeing SMH. This program seems to be example of how NOT to do future programs.
What happened? Door fell off Starliner?
Valve glitch in the launch vehicle. Later on, they were talking about a problem with one of the SRBs. Not ULA's greatest performance. I am beginning to believe this mission is cursed though. Did somebody kick somebody's pet goat out of a test or something?
SpaceX crew dragon looks like a luxury vehicle inside, Starliner looks like a factory break room.
My first impression of seeing the hatch was "Oh.. that looks tight". Eric Berger did a piece recently on all the delays to Starliner which is worth reading. When you think that SpaceX were the "new kids", and had a smaller budget, they really knocked it out of the park with Dragon 2!
And still using paper check lists
Ha ha! Prob due to lack of funding. It's a historical fact between Nasa and Boeing. Look it up. But safety is still paramount. None the less. PS. I don't know why these and the other competition even bother. SpaceX. All the way! They win, hands down! IMO.
Better to be checking on the parts than to be picking them up when scattered about.....always another day that way.... ;)
See you in 2 years Starliner
What? ULA scrubbed the Starliner flight? Who could EVER have seen this coming? (hint: Everyone)
Actually, a problem with the launcher was about the last thing anybody expected.
@@odysseusrex5908 Really? Remember this is ULA...and they're famous for finding a way to delay.
@@recoilrob324 Oh? Care to give some examples? Their rockets have been flying with extreme reliability for nearly twenty years. To what purpose would they delay this launch?
@@odysseusrex5908 Bullshit. NASA stated the problem was a valve. The thing is NASA spoke person stated they cycled the valve and it work after the Astronauts disembarked. Valve getting stuck is a common problem which Space X, Blue Origin and even Sierra Nevada have put as a priority due to extensive documentation from NASA. No excuses. Training of new people or fake people with fake degrees being hired. I am think of fake military experience in engineering....but qualification would weed out the stupid.
Better a *_SCRUB_* than a *_KABOOM._*
True dat. This mission is cursed though.
Better a Scrub than a RUD. Especially with a crewed flight.
@@MrX-zz2vk>>> Agreed.
I expected it to be scrubbed. Disappointing, but not surprising.
Sure, but were you expecting the problem to be with ULA's launch vehicle? Who had that on their bingo card?
@@odysseusrex5908 actually, I WAS thinking that something might go wrong with the rocket this time; it's turning out to be par for the course around this vehicle.
@@mercerconsulting9728 I wasn't. I was thinking that surely, surely, this time the stars would be aligned. What could possibly go wrong, again, after four years of futility? What the hell does Edsel Murphy have against this mission anyway? Did somebody kick his goat out of Boeing's offices?
Worked in South Vandenberg in the 80's where a Atlas launch failed and came down pretty quickly near SLC3. I remember you could see a star pattern of no growth the whole time I worked there. I was security police and did security on and around the launches for 4yrs. MOS the last year and a half.
That is so cool
The scrub was because of a very minor issue and was scrubbed because of an extremely conservative flight rule. According to Tory Bruno they are very familiar with the chattering that the valve was exhibiting. He said it happens under certain rare conditions but it is completely safe, the only issue is if it goes on for too long it could exceed the lifetime cycle limits for the valve. Stopping the chattering during the count is normally easy, simply cycle the valve open and closed, which they would have done if this was a satellite launch. But their flight rules for human launches prohibits doing anything different than normal fuel loading procedures, no matter how benign, so they scrubbed.
Hiya there NSF; stayed up; no nap; watched; till 1.20am UK time; loved doing that; loved the chat company x
❤
Boeing ain’t Goeing ?
ULA
Nice of Sawyer to counsel the Canadian astronaut assigned to Artemis 2 instead of rushing home to feed Jake
SpaceX would have sent a man up there with a Hammer !!
Another Boeing Whistleblower bites the dust.
Thank you for the coverage. Hope for better luck on the next attempt
Safety is #1 always!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avoid Starliner.....
Maybe Russia decided that they want their RD180 engine back. They'll need to get some Raptors installed ASAP.
The commentary is so exciting. When they said the convoy was going in a different direction, I just about pooped my pants. When the Julia came back on the mic, I fainted for a minute or two 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like an Astronaut.
this is where spacex stands out because even the convoy is made of cool model x cars with falcon doors-elon elon elon
I don't mind the van they are using, but the giant advertisement plastered on the side was really, really cheesy. If there is an opposite of "coolness" that was it. But on the positive side, between launches the van can be used for promotional appearances at shopping centers.
Just get SpaceX to launch it they could have sent it 5 times already.
TRUTH lmao
Bingo! And half the taxpayers dollars. This is so stupid. We need to stop this waste of money.
@@tronziebitno
OH MY GOD!!!!! THEY ARE USING COMM TONES!!!! Excuse me while I freak out😵💫😵💫😱😱
SpaceX scrubbed on it first demo astronaut launch
True, but this mission is now four years overdue. I swear it's cursed.
Boeing's perfect record of [fart noise] continues.
Has nothing to do with Boeing. Problem was in the launcher.
Trying to ignore your superpower always turns in on harder, Mapman.
The wait continues...
Oh OK 👍
man, Boeing really needs to get better at checking the bolts in those door plugs.
Problem was with ULA's lunch vehicle,
What is the ULA made of.. Boeing.
@@TomNook. No, Boeing is part owner of ULA, nd the Atlas V was developed by the other owner, Lockheed-Martin.
tthank you so mych
why the police escort? Aren't they on a closed base already? what's the point?
Is there tention of anamosity between nasa and space x?
no, nasa just wants more than one provider
scrubs are so common place now, this is no surprise. Better safe than sorry
There's no Pittsburg in Canada that I know of, but there is one in California. It's in the Bay Area 2nd to last stop on the BART yellow line, before Antioch.
I just got lucky. Watched the recorded version, so I just scrolled it, as soon as I hit the part where something was wrong and thev had an audible I knew it would scrub. Scrolled to the end and sure enough. 5 minutes wasted instead of hours.
Will this thing ever going to fly? Im usually a very positive person, but I highly doubt that this thing will ever fly at this point
I was a major shuttle geek Back In The Day, but even I didn't tune in three hours early for a launch.
Getting Shuttle vibes here. Want to watch a Launch? Better book the whole week!
A few years ago certain politicians only wanted one launch provider, and that should be Boeing - not both space X and Boeing, to save money!! Then NASA would still have to rely on Russia today!
Color me shocked!
At this rate a manned Boeing Starliner might make it to the moon by 2050.
I hope not. Starliner is only supposed to go to the International Space Station.
@@TheScottShepardIf it's going to visit the ISS, they better pick up the pace or they'll have to change the name to Sealiner.
@@TheScottShepardHence the key word “a” manned star liner. Meaning a future launch.
At this rate Elon will get his Starship up LOL
He will have a colony on Mars before this thing launches :-)
I would not want to fly on Starliner. You know all those workers are looking at Starship in awe and becoming very disgruntled.@@morry19965
The next launch attempt for Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is targeted for May 10, 2024, as the earliest possible date following a delay due to an issue with ULA's Atlas V rocket on May 6, 2024.
❤❤❤❤
And the saga continues ...
Couldn’t believe the commander was using a paper check list.
2:19:18 moment of scrub
Scrub for tonight
What's one more day ? You mean years
Why did it Scrub?
Did you expect otherwise?
Sadly, I expected a big earth-shattering kaboom.
Problem with an oxygen valve in the Centaur upper stage.
"Safety is a priority here at Boeing"
Me: yeahhh well they are not wrong
Boeing and valves. A match made in hell.😢
Boeing had nothing to do with it. The Atlas V wasn't even developed by Boeing, but by Lockheed-Martin.
Real ScrubLiner😄
dont blame starliner blane ula
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid :-)
Shocking
I live with 3 long haired people, and the amount of hair that ends up around the vacuum beater bar every week is truly breathtaking.
I wonder how that's dealt with in space...the air filtration must get a bunch...but they have to just float by people's faces every now and then also.
Scrubbed 😢
Granny you have a very nice home. I appreciate your time tested wisdom. Such a refreshing breath of fresh air in this crazy world. Yes, this old bachelor has cookbooks and I cook for myself too. Subbed.
What's with all the military on-site? Is FloridaMan™ really that much of a concern??
I have a spare bottle of washing up liquid, if that what Boeing are looking for to make it work.
It would be quicker to have the ISS come down to meet Starliner
Scrub?
Sure are a lot of sily chating
Looks like the 1st humans to fly this thing are in kindergarden now
Are they not going to rocket yet 🤔
You need to always ask for consent before rocketing anyone. This time the rocket said no thank you.
Looks like most tax payers don't support Boeing 🤣
Guess who supplied ULA with the faulty value.... Boeing
Oops. They mistook the "Garbage & Junk" bin for the "Recycle" bin
Scrub the whole starliner program! My taxes can do better with Space X. I think the people of the USA who pay taxes should be pissed and stop this program!
We're not paying any more for it. It's a fixed price contract.
@@odysseusrex5908 Yeah, it makes me laugh when guys like this moan about their taxes, but don't know what they are talking about, if they just scrap it, then that is money totally gone to waste as it is already spent, may as well see what happens now.
@@odysseusrex5908 We already paid double up front. While SpaceX got half the money and already carried 7 crews.
I hope the crews that will ride on this thing have all their insurance and other financial affairs up to date for their families.
Everybody just zip it at least to when the announcements are made, can't hear a thing when you guys are mumbling in between.
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥buaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa😢
Why don't they stick it on a falcon and get it over with
Here we go again. Boeing is delaying its first-ever manned launch because of a valve problem. We've been over this before, right? Next up: trouble with the parachute.
Incidentally, no wonder we're having problems with the Atlas V rocket, since it's manufactured by - you guessed it - Boeing🤷♂
SUNY was annoyed with her helmet not staying back & uncomfortable in chair. Perhaps they can remedy before next launch.
Fiasco yet again. The amateur guys in the Nevada desert built better looking ships than this. It’s like the kings new clothes for the leadership at NASA.
" The thousands that support you?" You mean the taxpayers ?
Who said that? If it was the commentators, they are with NASASpaceflight, a private media company with no affiliation to NASA or the US government. ULA is a private consortium, but I guess that they would be getting some sort of government money. Anyway, I'm in Australia so my tax dollars don't get affected at all.
Stop comparing everything just do what your gonna do and let people make up their mind and stop talking so much
Boeing Scrubliner.
Problem is in ULA's launch rocket.
What a waste of money.
your a waste of money
It’s not like it’s a total surprise. Billions and billions squandered in this futile effort.
Take that money and support the private sector leaders in space research and exploration.
This is like polishing a turd.
Looks like they've never sat in those chairs with those suits on.
Another process test failure for Boeing.
Starliner, anoter make-work government project.
what is this costing the taxpayers?
Tree fitty. Yep, about Tree fitty.
Best use of tax payer money imo
Nothing, it's a fixed price contract.
@@CouldbeUrDad all technology that has been discovered/invented by NASA is given to corporations to profit from, instead of holding the patents and selling the tech to pay for their programs., unlike your former medical experts, like Fauci,
Scrub as expected... Boeing / ULA 🙄
actually boeing dosent even own ULA
Boeing sucks anyways
What does that have to do with ULA's rocket designed by Lockheed-Martin?
Musk fan girls just hoping for a disaster.
All that money Boeing got and this is the crap they produce?!!! Man I want a refund!
SRUB??? SHOCKER!!!
