- Andy Mitten shares his player ratings for Rosenborg 1-0 Man United, our first pre-season game of the 24/25 season in Trondheim. United gave a lot of youngsters minutes, with Erik ten Hag’s reds playing different sides in the first and second halves. 10 substitutions were made at half time and only keeper Radek Vitek played the full 90 minutes, he had a decent game, only conceding in the 93rd minute after making seven saves. Final Score 1-0

It's a preseason game with mostly youth players...ratings will be needed once we get more training in but too early now IMO

No it wasn't a great match at all! I fell asleep at some point in the second half because the game was so boring (and I was up all night watching Copa America final). Actually a bit disappointed about the youngsters. I thought they were more ready to step up than they obviously look like, but still time to shine in the coming games because it seems many of the first team players will still be on holiday when the US tour starts. Worst disappointment was Mejbri though. I thought he would be playing for a new contract, but he's obviously gone backwards in Spain after looking good in last year's pre-season and now more looks like a player United would want to get rid of. Vitek my man of the match - he made some great saves and it looks like he has a great future. No problem getting him a much better loan move this season. Good luck on the tour, Andy!

Sorry Andy completely disagree on Big Willy. €5.5 I think it wasn’t worth selling for that money I can see he wanted first team football thought he was great when we saw him last year and looked like he was promising enough for first team football. I don’t think the fee is anywhere near enough. With a million UEFA cup games he could have played with Johnny Evans with league cup games and the odd league game I think there’s enough opportunities for a game a week and I loved the kids character. If we sign 3 centre half’s great but lindaloff should have been sold and new players in before this was even considered in my opinion
I get where your coming from but my understanding is we have a buy back clause. So its not that much different to a loan deal really.
From a purely numbers point of view, its a worry, but window is still open.
