Common issue on these G35/G37's are driver and passenger heater hose couplers as they are plastic and become brittle and break in time at the back of the engine. As a precaution I replaced mine with the updated Z1 metal couplers w/bleeder screws and new rubber hoses. Hope you get it sorted out Randy, I believe that is the smoke.
They're good cars. I have a '13 G37x and have been driving it for 5 years. I had a few issues here and there, but overall, it was reliable. I had an overheating problem before, the radiator fan stopped working properly. I had it fixed, and no issue after all. They're fun and quick!
Great always randy and i enjoyed it and i hope you can get this thing figured out im sure u will get it figured out and that is a nice little car. Cant wait to see u get her foxed snd take her on the 10 mile run keep up the great work much love to ya have a good one take care stay warm and i will see you on the next one
I have one of these G35s, my street floods with every major thunderstorm and the water gets a little higher than your flood line. Never had any water in the car and the car now has 300k and still runs fine.
Actually the Maxima uses the older VQ35DE engines, this is the newer VQ35HR which only lasted 1-2 years on the G35 before they upgraded them to the even newer VQ37HR. HR stands for high revolution.
Love your videos, I only have one thing to say, putting cold coolant/water in a hot engine causes disproportionate cooling of the block and heads and if you don't have a blown headgasket you soon will, heating and cooling of the engine has to be even and balanced. So if you overheat make sure you let it cool down naturally then put coolant into it. I know it's time consuming but it's better then a blown headgasket.
Believe me I’m well aware of this I’ve been doing this for almost 30 years it’s all for video content my man letting it cool naturally doesn’t cause a beautiful explosions from the cold hitting the hot 😊
@AutoAuctionRebuilds your so true there 😄 wouldn't be as attention grabbing without that steamy burst and if it does blow the gaskets it's not a big loss and it's also not a rare car it shouldn't cause a big stink
I had fought this fight with my Subaru. Had lines popping whatever the weakest hose was. In your case, it just may be bubbling along with a LOT of air since you replaced the cap and water 5 minutes ago. I wouldn't call that a bad Head Gasket yet. On my Subaru it was, but that had other signs.. not air coming out of the cooling system when there was obviously air in there.
Those Nissan 3.5 engines are no slouch, they're very peppy sound great with an exhaust as well, almost exotic sounding, that engine has been used for many many years as well in the Maxima and other ones, this 3.5 and along with the 2.5 that's in the Sentra and Altima, are very stout engines. They actually made a SER Ultima with the 3.5, that was almost 300 horsepower. My sister-in-law has a newer Maxima and she's got a hard time staying off the pedal because it's so fun and so much power compared to her Prius which we all know it is what it is but she loves driving a Maxima she said it's like a little NASCAR but for city streets lol but you can actually get decent gas mileage if you're not heavy on the pedal but it's hard not to because that engine is so refined and perfect.
I remember in the mid 2000s when these came out a coupe g35 absolutely walked me driving my friends 97 cobra… to be fair I was new to driving stick lol
Great video at first when i saw the instagram post i thought it was another bad headgasket car like it happened with the hybrid Malibu that got killed on the video and reached temps above 400F
They are generally good cars but you got what you paid for. It's probably at least a 3 owner car and every new owner does less to maintain it. Eventually an owner pays little for it and drives it until it dies and gets another low cost car and does it again. I know people like that. You can see other than maybe oil changes this car was not maintained.
Be sure to bleed the cooling system the correct way because on the older Infiniti there is a three way pipe with a Phillips cut out near the firewall to release the backside of the engines pressure I don't know if they still use this method I'm just mentioning
Check all the fluids in any car you are not familiar with before you drive it. It will save you heads and head gaskets from a lack of coolant in the future. Could be a nice car for the money if the overheating did not kill it. Time will tell.
Never add cold water to hot radiator, this will damage internal parts made from different materials asexpantion rate is different. Avoid at all costs run the engine until cools
lol from owning over 60 g35/g37 m35 and maximas I know these cars like the back of my hand lol I can tell you now watch for the fuzzy gas gauge the y pipes tend to rot out and the rear subframes are ass cheeks some how I still love em 😂😂😂
Excuse me sir, I believe it’s Infinitee
Excuse me you dumb ass it’s spelled Infiniti not Infinitee your really retarded right
Ummm no it’s INFINITI🤦🏿♂️
@ agree to disagree
@@TruckCentral ok well it’s called common knowledge?
Thanks man I corrected the title. You were close 😂

Never ever, put cold water, into a boiling hot engine.
So you think Randy didn't know that? It's a cheap car, bought for content, not for keeping.
😂😂😂 yes
@adamgabriel730 but other people may not know !
Exactly ,it boiled the water when he put some in, so he put some more in , and now he thinks the head gasket is blown ,go figure
Can anyone explain what happens when you do? I'm just curious
Another great video from AAR on a Saturday morning got my day started off right 😊
Like the new intro Randy! Keep them coming.

You may want to start the motor before you add water. You will blow a head gasket. If it's not already blown

Finally an INFINITI on the channel and that’s a detuned Z engine, nice sounding engines indeed.
Thank You For Sharing This
Love the videos been watching for a long time
Good morning Randy. Great video as always
Also has the same motor as the Infiniti FX35 some of the best motors ever made
The VQ35DE engine packs a punch!
Yes it does, this is the VQ35HR though.

Wouldn't be exciting without it bubbling over making steam! If it 💩 the bed you can just send it back to auction!
Love this one Randy. Looking forward to the repair.
Happy Saturday Randy!
well you did it Randy, you got a Nissan
Loving the flooded car content!
These are fun cars.
Good Morning Rebuilds💪
New thermostat
Good morning Randy. The Infinity G35 is a good looking car even though it's a flood car from Oklahoma. Let's see if it will run and drive.
I think it needs blinker fluid, Randy

a winner imo
That infiniti was smoking like crazy
I remember in the mid 2000s when these came out a coupe g35 absolutely walked me driving my friends 97 cobra… to be fair I was new to driving stick lol
Looks like a nice lineup of cars you got
Great video at first when i saw the instagram post i thought it was another bad headgasket car like it happened with the hybrid Malibu that got killed on the video and reached temps above 400F
Please use your heated shop. It's so easy to get a bad back and weather sensitive hands from wrenching in the cold.
Randy you got to know better then trying to add water to a hot engine.
It's for content. Nothing more. Remember this is video not real life.
I did replace the same hose on mine too. it take a while, but can be done.
its a cool car man really and honestly worth fixing
Same engine as the 350z love these cars
That is another way to steam clean an engine.

Supposed to get down HERE in MWM's old stomping grounds in S.TX
Those freeze plugs are gonna pop out with straight water in that thing Randy)
Looks like one of those "oooooh shiyet" moments
Cool car, good video 😀
Loving the videos lately Randy those 3.5 liter V6s are pretty fast. Also what happened to your old C5 Frc
That would be a good car for Nick
Be sure to bleed the cooling system the correct way because on the older Infiniti there is a three way pipe with a Phillips cut out near the firewall to release the backside of the engines pressure I don't know if they still use this method I'm just mentioning
Morning Randy hope that hose fixes it hope not head gasket hope not but nice car thanks for video
I don’t think maxima has this same engine..
Its not the hose it's the head gasket idk if it hasn't been replaced it's time with the miles high
Isn't an infiniti a high-end nissan?
Yes it’s a high end Nissan
Exactly ✔️
Kathy u single
Car overheating and you still got somewhere to go or some mileage in between you and your home, heat on max full blow always remember that!
Good morning Randy
For $550 that’s not bad at all. Even for $1,100
It’s a nice car. What’s up with it? (Head gasket?) sticking thermostat? I mean u did say the cool fans were on so can’t be that.
Stuck thermostat
Nice little infinity hopefully that hose fixes it.
Check the coolant lines behind the engine nd on the side of the engine those always go bad on those vehicles
happy saturday
One word Randy “ nick” 😂😂😂
Quiet as kept... this car would've been perfect for Nick.😊
Maybe not having antifreeze in it cracked something or maybe even popped that hose
Nice junk, thanks for sharing.
It has a cat transmission
Morning Randy hope you doing fine 👍👍😎
Unbelievable price
Check all the fluids in any car you are not familiar with before you drive it. It will save you heads and head gaskets from a lack of coolant in the future. Could be a nice car for the money if the overheating did not kill it. Time will tell.
Time for the old Blue Devil Randy???
IMHO it has a head gasket issue.
Bubbling in the overflow from air getting in due to the leak, maybe? I dunno, just a guess...
Flood cars should be parted out.
Build a Vaydor kit car it uses a g35 for the chasis.
Never add cold water to hot radiator, this will damage internal parts made from different materials asexpantion rate is different. Avoid at all costs run the engine until cools
The g35 makes a good drift car with it having the Nissan 350z motor
Better hope it don't freeze. But you got a cracked head or head gasket.
Great car that usually gets stolen in the South
Beware those engines like to drink oil!
Infinity is the luxury side
you did that intentionally -
a very nice low mile (
No Owner Manual Too
Engine 🔥
Why would you want to pay the same or more in fees as your SMH these Copart/IAA joints are becoming a rip off organization's.
i would nvr test drive a car without a scan tool connected.. honestly.
The VQ engines are very strong and can make up to 700 HP by boosting it. The transmission is not soo good.
Quick question Randy I left a message on your last video just wanted to know what scan to you was using for the Mitsubishi
Old Faithful!
It was stolen more times than my ex.😂
Curious if you have a license to buy or do you do the broker route?
Well this is ironic I just bought a g35 project car last week lmao, $700
lol from owning over 60 g35/g37 m35 and maximas I know these cars like the back of my hand lol I can tell you now watch for the fuzzy gas gauge the y pipes tend to rot out and the rear subframes are ass cheeks some how I still love em 😂😂😂
Good morning randy
0:01 Blue Devil
I could be wrong but I think it’s a g37x is comparable to 350z
Randy, ck the radiator n thomast ?
empty coolant
The original vq
You might want to do a little better with checking your fluids. Just thinking try it might work for you.
Check your coolant level
They are fast man 5 second 0-60 lol
Low on coolant
Duh
