- Exactly which Israeli jets varying between sources.
The wreck of Myngs is an interesting one. There aren't many British destroyer wrecks out there, at least not discovered ones. This one being shallow enough for an average diver makes Myngs even more interesting.
Yet, really, the most interesting thing about her is how the ship sank. Not often you see a British destroyer sunk by jet fighters, after all. Unfortunately, the wreck isn't easy to get to. And has, largely, fallen apart.

A RN Destroyer in Egyptian service sunk by French aircraft flown by Israeli pilots, possibly with US bombs.
Good morning and great video as always very intresting wreck you have a wonderful day!!
I get that as you say, it's optimistic to say guns of this type would have been effective. On the other hand, when I look at footage of Argentinian A-4s conducting strikes on the Royal Navy at the Falklands, I can't help but think that "old-fashioned" barrages of proximity fuzed 5-inch and the post-war US 3-inchers would have at least made their jobs much, much harder.
There certainly was a Skyhawk shot down in those circumstances - I just yesterday watched a YT video about the gunner and the pilot (who the former had thought dead all along!) reunited at the latter's farm in Argentina !!
I was there in 05 when I was stationed in Egypt for a year in the US Army
The Google Earth pics really hammer it in that Myngs/El Qaher will eventually disappear. It's really somber...
I guess it was during high tide when I looked on google map because it was hardly seen.

Fish cameo!
More time has passed from 1970 than WW2 to 1970 by far.
The rath of time and sea water in shallow water. Wow
Interesting.
The USS Liberty comes to mind when the Israelis attacked the United States Navy technical research ship, with both Israeli Air Force jet fighter aircraft and Israeli Navy motor torpedo boats, on 8 June 1967, of course the Israelis claimed it was a mistake.
If its in the Mediterranean there are no tides.
It's tidal - just. Less than 30cm is regarded as non tidal. The Mediterranean has a mean 40cm tide.
This is red sea
How about doing in story about the USS Liberty AGTR-5 Isreal killed 34 Americans and wounded 171 Americans, my brother being one of the wounded.
How about you get over it and stop complaining about Israel.
@MauriceTiberius-z2m I'm an American first.
@@MauriceTiberius-z2mhow about instead we hold our “allies” accountable for intentionally attacking an American ship?
@@MauriceTiberius-z2mHow about you shut up? 34 American sailors died because Isreal attacked the USS Liberty.
I made a large motorized USS liberty, it attracts a lot of attention, and I get to tell the story to people who didn't know our " greatest ally" blatantly attacked us, and Johnson's administration covered it up .
