It’s many moon my friend since you made this video but your valuable (Lexus subwoofer installation mod) information is appreciated. Thanks for your theoretical and practical demonstration how to make a layman DIY simple and perfect. I just bought a Lexus 02 es300 and is going to change the subwoofer and you make project so easy. Nuff respect every time.
did you have to install an amp for the new and much more powerful subwoofer? I'd imagine the factory amp would not be able to drive such a big subwoofer.
Will you help me do the same thing to my Lexus es 350? I don't mind paying. I just need the my template cut and matched up with my 8 inch 2ohm subwoofer. I will be running my sub to and amp and bypassing the oem wires.
I took my 2015 gs350 f sport with the Mark Levinson system, to Lexus, they said it was the subwoofer cover that was broken, and they made an appointment to get it replaced for me, so I went home, and on the way home, there was no more rattle, on full bass and max volume, but when I went in on the appointment date to get it replaced, they replaced the cover and put in a brand new sub for me and then when I tested it, the rattle was back and worse. I don’t get it, hoe did it disappear when a technician took it apart and put it back in, but it returned when a brand new speaker was installed
Nice video. Seems similar to the European IS250. Although your braver than I am. I think Im going to get mine done by a professional so I don't duck it up.
It is, but it's a 2ohm speaker. Output from amp is 2 ohms single channel. To properly power the speaker, you need either a SVC 2 ohm speaker or a DVC 4 ohm speaker.
Its actually the opposite. Lexus uses a 2ohm sub. To get a 4ohm to run at 2 ohms, you need a DVC (Dual Voice Coil) and you go + to +, then out to + from the amp, then you go - to -, then plug the - wire to that from the amp. This will give you 2 ohms. By splitting the DVC, it drops from 4 ohms to 2 ohms....this is what you need to properly power the Lexus sub with the right amount of wattage. Just an FYI, the Lexus amp has a 2 ohm signal to the sub.
This cars an absolute nightmare I took a grinder to the old blown sub and cut off the top where the bolts go and screwed my new sub into it I think it's way easier and way less work than cutting out a piece of wood
I love the car, HATE that subwoofer bracket... WTF is wrong with Toyota? I've got a Camry, an FJ Cruiser, an Avalon, and a Lexus RX350, and every speaker I've replaced requires an odd-sized adapter or me building one in the garage!!!! My Avalon has the same Sub setup...I'm going to cut the mounting frame off of the old speaker, and bolt it to the new Rockford Fosgate Sub...

Man you saved the day! Thanks for your patience taking time to share this video.
Thank you for the two part video. This is going to be my project this weekend.
Yo bro.. what is the positive and negative wires on the speaker? The green one or black one? Thx
I like what I'm seeing in this video! I have an es 350, 08 lexus.
This was great! Do you still have it? Did it stand the test of time?

I've heard the Mark Levinson amp in this car is 330 Watt, which still isn't ideal for a 600W subwoofer but it would probably do okay.
What’s the colors of the pos+ and Neg- from the OEM subwoofer ?
Which subwoofer is this? How did it hold up with factory amp? What rms range?
Will jbl stage 810 woofer require a same modification or it will just fit in like. Mark Levinson woofer?
Hey bro I have to replace that left small speaker there . Do you know the part #
Excellent, thanks

How could I find what wires are positive and negative
Is that sub hook up to the OEM amp. ?
david juarez ochoa Yes.
How do you get your music to play via blue tooth

There's a foam liner/gasket that the sub sits in so it doesn't rattle. Your foam is either worn out or improperly installed.

cookiemonster11123 lol. Thanks! It’s really not that hard. You’d be surprised.
looks like the mark Levinson stock speaker is svc how did you wire the loc
It is, but it's a 2ohm speaker. Output from amp is 2 ohms single channel. To properly power the speaker, you need either a SVC 2 ohm speaker or a DVC 4 ohm speaker.
Man I can’t leave rattles alone once I get into a setup. Butyl rubber and foam wrapping on every accessible surface
realy cool , I'm waiting your answer
What size is the sub?
Would you please explain how to wire 4 ohms to 8 ohms the woofer.

Any issues with this set up after having it in for a while?
Yes, lol. I blew after a couple of months.
@@crucial414 i hope you are ok! :))
@crucial414, do you know why it blew? AMP too weak?
