@madrx2 Oh. Sorry that is meant to be 60-110. It doesn't matter how many times I proof-watch and check it over, there's always something that sneaks through.

@@CykoidBruh, you act like you have to completely rebuild the car, lmao. I agree that the WRX should have more power from factory, but the potential this car has with basic mods is incredible at its price point.
Yeah AWD makes a big difference but the i30N with the DCT is quicker than the manual. The i30N with DCT is quicker than both the auto and manual variant of the WRX though, but that's assuming good weather lol.
And even mainstream EVs will leave both for dead. C&D measured the Tesla Model 3 Long Range (not the Performance) at 4.6s 0-60mph. BYD Tang which is like a midsize SUV does it in 4.9s.
The limit of an exact 350Nm sounds like an artificial limit to preserve the gearbox. Lots of manufacturers do this. Toyota Hilux did this on their manual V6 versions 343Nm vs 373Nm for the auto Polo GTI did this limiting their dry wet clutch versions to 250Nm vs 320Nm for the manual. Also the Megane RS 300 gets 420nm in the auto but is torque limited to 400Nm in the manual. I would definitely say the Subaru is torque limited to protect the gearbox and reduce warranty claims especially being AWD.
yeah subaru has the 350NM as an artificial limit because of the CVT in the Auto cars dont know why they dont remove it for the manuals, previous gen WRX S4s in japan had a 400NM figure
@@Zenithdraggy surprisingly it's actually the TY75 manual thats the weak point for the WRX, can handle power but not torque. Great vid - THANK YOU! You mention that you don't understand the 'lower' power on the WRX compared to the i30N. The answer is that the i30N is boosted up to 18psi, it shows on the dash shot during acceleration. A little known figure, very difficult to find as I think Subaru hides it, is that the WRX is only boosted to 14.5psi, for reasons best known to Subaru. Given that the performance of a turbo is a function of the turbocharger's capacity to floe air/fuel rather than engine cubic capacity then the power disparity makes sense. One theory may be for the Suby's reliability linked to the boxer's unique attributes/design. Unrelated but interestingly, 14.5psi is the max boost available in the final factory-spec super Falcon - the 2016 FG-X XR6 Sprint. Yes, unrelated but interesting.
