Thanks for supporting the NPS and the employee pizza party with your $36 donation , FYI it went towards "Crazy bread" and Red Solo cups.

You two are so darn cute. I enjoy seeing a young couple get along so well together. Glad Nat got as far as she did in the slot canyon with much help from Jimmy. Nice job Jimmy. Thanks for sharing.

Those canyons reminded me about the solo hiker who had a rock shift and pinch his arm. He was trapped for days and days and finally decided to amputate his arm and walked out alive. The story got a lot of press at the time. Lesson, always have a buddy.

Advice from somebody who watches lots of off-road recovery channels on TH-cam in Utah.
Don't trust your GPS if it takes you off-road, if the road looks like it's getting bad stop turn around, check it out on your e-bikes before going further. Also any thing that looks like a lake bed do not drive on it, it is a lake bed. Anywhere from 2" to a foot down is mud.

    • @mikemullay5622
      @mikemullay5622 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Matt's Off Road, Heavy D, and even Fab Rats do a lot of recovery from lake beds. I have seen videos of several recoveries from Lake Powell and Great Salt Lake. Once a vehicle breaks through the crust it does seem to be game over.

as a man in my fifties and anticipating building a schoolie and traveling the US I enjoy watching your adventures just as much as I enjoy watching your youthfulness. I just wanted to say the two of you are just too cute. I can see the characteristics in Jimmy that makes Natilie love him and I can see the characteristics in Natilie that make Jimmy love her. Keep on filming and keep on sharing the adventures together. The two of you will remember these days for a long long time. Love you guys. I hope to see you on the road some day.

Got a little claustrophobic watching Jimmy wiggle his way through that rock 🪨 formation.
Had dinner with your Dad and siblings on Sat.

I’m so glad that I started exploring southern Utah back in the early 80’s. Many of the places I went to I would not see another person for a week and explored slot canyons all by myself. In the early 2000’s I returned to some of the areas and it was overran with people, cars and loude radio’s. I returned to the Grand Canyon and told my friends that I have to find some new desert 🌵.

Hi guys! You both are getting so good at finding real treasure spots that you NEED to give National Geographic a call! I'm serious! What you went through to find what has been hidden from plain sight, (well preserved cave drawings ) for a long time is amazing. You really need to share this with the world. Make the call, you have nothing to loose and we the people have a lot to gain. God bless you and keep you safe. Love you guys, Louise

Hi You Two, I know I'm a little late because we just watched your oil change video from Dec 21. Ha! My husband is a retired diesel mechanic from Cal-Fire, he was actually Chief of Equipment, that said, your Skoolie bus doesn't care what kind of oil you use so save your money.
It was funny watching your video, my husband was shouting at the TV what was wrong with your bus. I'm happy you got it worked out. Enjoy your journey.
Adding oil or changing oil will never fix your problem. God bless, safe journey.
    Patti

Well guys till next week and another video remember, "Enjoy The Adventure." 😀😎👍 Oh, before I forget, Jimmy you need to wear sunglasses the sun is more damaging then when I was a kid. Just a friendly reminder Save your sight so you can enjoy nature to its fullest. Later!!! ( I remind my 40 some year old children the same thing)

I know you are on the move north, but, if you are still in Utah, try to see Little Wild Horse slot canyon. It is considered to be the second best in Utah. Just make sure there is absolutely no rain in the area one day before and no chance on the day of the hike. Bring plenty of water. It is an amazing hike. You will not be disappointed. A real slot canyon! Good parking at the trailhead. Goblin Valley State Park is nearby. Nice campground.

Fun video, glad you guys could fit through. If you are in the St George area still you could look at Caseys off road recovery youtube page and look for the videos he is mule riding or not doing a recovery, he goes to many places in that area that are more known by locals. You could even try a phone call to see where not to drive your bus, he is a honest man. Your viewers probably are not to much the same. Stay safe and healthy. Jimmy you are such a gentleman to Natalie it is very nice to see.

In the end it always works out for the best. I would love to see the Wave too but definitely like the hikes that take me away from the crowds. We were not successful either for the wave but did apply for a permit to Coyote Butte South which the area just south of the wave and we did get that permit. It is a little more remote but there is a bigger wave in this section which is not known as well, because of all the publicity the popular wave gets.

We got into Zion at last year at 5am and we were one of the very first to get to the top Angels Landing. When we left the top of Angels Landing there was a line of hikers from the bottom of the Landing. You really didn't miss that much. Bryce Canyon is more beautiful to me and there are no crowds if you get there when the park opens. Hope you two can make it down to Sothern California someday, San Diego to be specific. There are lots of beautiful places to explore.

Thanks to having a really tall and strong fiancé, Natalie was easily lifted up through those hard to reach rockfall access points. I don't even want to know the amount of money I've paid the NPS just to be told no. I really shouldn't have even bothered with The Wave, it was $9 down the drain. I did Buckskin Gulch and it was a nice consolation prize. I did get an Angels Landing permit and raced to Utah from across the country just for that, but it turned out I didn't even need it. My camping permit let me hike it anyway, and they don't even check after like 3. I also got lucky and got a permit for The Subway, which was amazing.

Always try and keep in mind that slot canyons hold a hidden danger. Flash flood. Even a small rainstorm can cause a flash flood in a narrow canyon. If it does start to rain it is a good idea to hustle to high ground as soon as possible. I have seen one happen when I was a kid hiking with my family around the Grand Canyon. It was shocking how quick it came without even a heavy rain. Luckily we were up on the side (above) the canyon...

We applied online for years and never got wave permits, We finally got a walk up permit and would have not gotten it since we forgot about time change but ended up in Kanab hotel instead of camping in Jacob Lake area due to my wife getting Altitude sickness when we tried summiting Mt. Humphrey.

Go to Bryce Canyon or better yet go to Capital Reef which is still a hidden gem and not a lot of people.
