    In her interview, Anna stated that she does not compete with anyone on the ice, but simply tries to skate as well as she is capable of at the moment. Her winning gesture at the end says just that, not that she already felt like an Olympic champion. This is the rare case when an athlete loves sports in herself, and not herself in sports!

      @annitachan9654 ปีที่แล้ว +275

      Absolutely agree with your comment. She really love figure skating and she skate her soul out. Always try to do all her maximum at the moment. Actually, she planned to land 3 quads in her free program but because of broken skate in three days before the start of the competition and need to roll with new skate and her knee injury start to interfere so she decided to do only 2 quads in the free program that is her maximum at that moment. She didn’t want to take risk because she wanted a clean performance at the Olympic game that is her dream. The look (her happiness) at the end of her free program said everything that her dream became true, two clean performances. Both of her performances are brilliant. @@minus21334 I’m not doubting her abilities. I’m saying that it’s simply false to say this short program of hers is more difficult than Kamila’s. The ISU doesn’t agree. Kamila’s short program is clearly more difficult. And it also isn’t easy to do what Kamila does. Her port de bras simply cannot be beaten-that’s hard to do , sometimes especially with slower music where you can’t hear the cue nearly as much because in order to do the kind of Port De Bras that Kamila does you concentrate so much on upper body and also disassociate it with your skating. All three girls are very capable of skating to fast or slow music, it’s just a matter of their personal taste, not because they aren’t capable. The only difference is for Anna she’s a bit of a “all-arounder”, for Sasha she’s more of a jumper, and for Kamila she’s more of an artistic dancer.

    Whenever people ask me why I supported Anna so relentlessly and held such strong belief that she was Champion material, I based it on her humble yet strong willed character. If you keep up with Russian skating, she was constantly bullied by the press, and her place in the Olympic team was hanging in the threads despite being Champion on multiple occasions, yet she remained dignified in her manner. She asserts that her job is not to speculate on matters and decisions, but it is to simply skate well. That kind of character brings people places, and she is pure evidence of resiliency. Her winning the Gold was very significant because she was constantly put down, and her sheer will carried her to the top of the podium because truthfully even she knew that she wasn't the public nor coaching team favourite.

      She has the most flaws among the top skaters. lmfao You cannot be serious. Her jumps are also the most effortful. Just look at how hard she hammers her toepick into the ice for the "quad" flips, yet still spins on the blade to turn it into an edge jump. Her jumps are so flawed that they shouldn't even be credited under this system. However, she does have the most musicality among the top skaters and should receive great components for performance.

    • @minus21334
      @minus21334 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@DeepSeas.. "most effortful" "most flaws" said it all about the credibility of your comments. Anyone with proper optical lens could tell she undoubtly has the least burdensome Jump out of all the girls who land their jumps like meteorite hit the gound and could hardly include transition for entry and exit of their jumps.
      no skaters are perfect, she is close to perfection. Look at top 5, all of them hammer the toepick even for triple. however, her landing is the best among the women skater. Hence, how she often looks so effortless and seamless for all her jumps.

      @@maouimaisnon2535exactly! These days most skaters pre rotate and use ‘full blade assist’, it’s just that Anna’s way of doing it isn’t the most aesthetic. Except for that one male skater who does a quad toe as a quad sal, full blade assistance isn’t really a thing, because the skaters initially plant their toe and then sit into the blade in order to vault, so it’s not really a horrible flaw. She’s the best because she’s the most complete skater NOW. She doesn’t have the most difficult technical content, so that doesn’t make her the « best » skater in term of technique (Trusova beats her on this point), but she’s mature and consistent she knows how to perform when needed (she had planned 3 jumps for her free but she felt like doing only 2). It could have been insufficient to beat Trusova but luckily it worked. She clearly have the artistry on her side too so she’s a complete skater with technical difficulty (2 quads, even though that’s not the highest someone can do), and maybe one of the best choreography and artistry today. I was expecting Trusova to win and I would have been super proud of her if she did (5 quads!!) but I’m happy with Anna too, they both deserve it, it’s a shame there isn’t 2 first places !!

    • @annitachan9654

      @@maouimaisnon2535 I agree that she is a complete skater for today. Since now all the skaters focus on doing a lot of jumps so artistic seems to be less and less. Honestly, I love the complete skating performance than jumping skating performance. I can watch the complete skating performance endlessly but for the jumping skating performance is occasionally. Actually, Anna planned to do 3 quads in her free program but because of broken skate in three days before the start of the competition and her knee injury also start to interfere her that’s why she decided to do only 2 quads that is her maximum strength at that time. She didn’t want to take a risk because she wanted a clean performances in the Olympic game that is her dream. The look at the end of her free program said everything, her dream become true that is clean performance. She is very smart and talented. I love and admire her so much.

    • @annabanana4549
      @annabanana4549 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maouimaisnon2535 I’m pretty sure anna planned 3 quads for the team (not sure just what I’ve heard) Sasha has also had a very stressful season with no golds so I definitely feel for her. I reckon they could of put Sasha in the team (because 5 quads with a triple axel is risky) and then they would all have gold. For kamilla i don’t think it’s unfair at all, because sport is about being fair and being able to compete with a positive drug test is unfair for others

    • @maouimaisnon2535
      @maouimaisnon2535 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@annabanana4549 Kamila’s test wasn’t positive at the olympics, that’s why they allowed her to compete. The positive test was about Russian Nationals, and never should have arrived this late. But Eteri should have put Anna or Sasha instead of her, even if one of them failed they still would have win the team event. (If the test had come earlier, they could have had Kamila replaced by Liza, and the podium would undoubtedly have been 3xRussia).
      Now for Sasha’s short, doing a 3A was her decision. Her coaches had planned a 2A, but it was the Olympics, she wanted to put all the chances on her side and give her all (that doesn’t surprise me). If she had kept her 2A and skated a clean program, she would still have been behind Kamila and Anna (and Kaori). I think she did a better score with a failed 3A than she would have with a clean 2A program. With a 3A, even if it was risky, she still had the chance to make it and pass in front of Anna AND Kamila (since she failed too). Those points would have been precious. Unfortunately that didn’t work but she knew beforehand that her 3A wasn’t really consistent, she knew the risk and still went for it. Because it was her only chance. So I get why she did it, and it’s very Sasha-ish of her (I like her recklessness, she wouldn’t be the Sasha we know without it). So I think going for a 3A was the best option she had, failed or not.

      I love this performance, it is so perfect and beautiful. I think this is my favorite performance I have ever seen from Anya (and favorite figure skating performance in general) and that says a lot. I am sad she was not at the 2022 world championship and I can no longer watch her at international competitions (I am not saying I am against the punishments on Russia, I just really like Anya).

    She is simply gorgeous! The best skater ever for me 🥇❤ she has elegance and powerful energy inside, so happy for her! How much pressure she felt after Russian Nationals and short at Europeans, and despite injuries and all of that negative talks she has delivered these sensatonal skates of her life! 🥇❤🍾💐 Thank you, Anna!

      I totally agree. I have been following her for years and my dream was that she would win the Olympics. I am so sad though, that the drama of her teammates kind of took away her victory moment. But Anna, as always, was graceful and humble about it all. A true sportswoman.
