That's interesting that they can raise the bobcats with regular cats.
It makes sense since they're roughly the same size as kittens.
Yeah, if you watched episode 1 you would know the house cat adopted the 3 bobcats.
But they never really become tame right?
How close exactly do they get to tame or how far away with these kinds of tricks?
They don't keep them and take them.. They just save their lives by fostering them with a house cat mom and then rehab them until they know they could survive in the wild by themselves and then they release them into the wild.
Noah Riding the whole point of finding a domestic cat to raise them is to ensure that they don’t become domesticated. If they’re raised by humans they’ll start becoming domesticated, making it harder for them to acclimate to a wild setting later. However if they’re raised by another cat, they’ll have an easier time gaining a natural, wild mindset.

Storm (in this video) is spectacular already. He's going to be a stunning adult (by now he is!). I saw a wild bobcat for the first time 3 years ago here in CA at dawn at Mt. Wilson observatory. I was blown away. He was down a hill from me...maybe 75 ft or so. Marking his territory. He stopped and looked at me for a while--yes, I was intimidated!--even though I remained virtually silent (other than uttering to myself: OMG, it's a bobcat!) What a treat.

@BigCatRescue Although it has been over a year since they passed, I am still mourning these beautiful beasts. I'm so, so sorry you had to go through this terrible moment; I cried as I read their page, word for word. Thank you, so much, for giving them a wonderful life, no matter how short it was. Please, be consoled that at least they were happy.
I love seeing videos of these little ones. I especially love their unique lavender eyes. You never see that. If I went to Big Cat Rescue, I could just spend all day staring into their gorgeous eyes and listen to them make that cute chirp sound.

@astrokmb1 The domestic kittens turned out fine, they were both adopted by a volunteer so they remained together :)
Ahhhh I love bobcat kittens!! If I had to rescue a couple bobcat kittens I'd spoil them rotten and give them everything they deserve!! Just as other animals deserve everything in this world!

@WarriorLightning Hi, yes we rescued them from Alabama where their mum was shot by a hunter. We also have two previous videos to this one showing them being introduced to Bobbi etc.. :)

I've been binge watching almost all of your videos for more than a week now. I'm so happy to know theres a place like BCR out there. Watching the videos, I'm so happy and inlove with these adorable creatures. Cried a few times about the passing of some of the cats I just knew. Thank you for all your hard work. Hi, unfortunately all three bobcats passed away, our goal was to release them back into the wild, this is determined not so much by age, but once they're mature, capable of hunting and obviously ready for the next step thats when we have released bobcats in the past like Bellona, if you search our videos for her release.

it's fascinating to see how the domestic kittens have adopted some of the behaviors of the bobcat kittens (the long-distance paw fighting for example at 1:12+). How did the domestic kittens turn out, behavior/social wise?

@BigCatRescue the specialty rescues rescue certain high end breeds that are bred to look wild but are not wild. it is bette rto adopt a domesticated cat than the wild ones!! i truly applaud you efforts to educate the public on thi smatter and i actually cried at hopes release vid!! its another good day for a wild cat that truly needs to be wild!!

@astrokmb1 Unfortunately the bobcat kittens passed away, I believe they used a litter box when they were still in the cat hospital.

@WARP10CK Hi, no lynx are a separate species, they look very similar to bobcats but are larger and their tails have a black tip which goes all the way around, while bobcats have a black tip with white underneath.

@Jamiegirl1315 No they're normal length, at this stage they just look longer than mature bobcats :)
At this size they don't seem much different from domestic kittens, but you can already see the little points on the ends of their ears.
Really nice, It is really nice to see kittens playing, especially mixed with wilder animals. I think bengal are one of the most active breeds, ressembling some of the wild ancestor. Check the video response my 5 bengal kittens playing around in the sofa, the best ever video of kittens playing, and that's 5 beautiful 2 months old bengals!

@BigCatRescue they are so smart though. when i was a kid my mom, me and my little brother rescued one that we found wandering around a drive through where my mom worked. when we took her in we called her lucky and she ended up having 6 kittens. 3 survived and i kept one of the males and named him zu. eventually lucky ran away but i still had zu. he ws such a bad ass but so very smart i would own another one in a heartbeat. i like how they act more like dogs than cats its so funny!

And then the bobcat teacher walks in and sees the previous one strung up and skinned and she says "awh you kids"
@jblancashire Not really, apart from the hisses they give you sometimes, they already have that defensive quality.
@00YsoSerious00 We don't have contact with any of our cats, when it comes to the kittens we have minimal contact to help them feed but we do not talk around them and as soon as we're done we get out of the area, it's very important they do not bond with us.
